  • Versatile, Sturdy & Woth the Price.
I was pleasantly surprised by this monopod. It’s very versatile and definitely worth the price. I like that it’s collapsible, lightweight, and comfortable to carry with the foam grip and wrist strap. Once adjusted, the twist locks feel very secure, and there’s plenty of height adjustment to work with. The removable yoke held several of my rifles as well as my crossbow comfortably. The swivel feature is nice, though it does take both hands to use without loosening the yoke, and sometimes pressure can cause the whole monopod to rotate. The ground spike/smooth end option is a great touch—though it would be handy if there were a way to store the unused end inside the monopod so it doesn’t get lost. Another bonus: the top works perfectly with my camera when the yoke is removed. For situations where you don’t want to haul a full tripod but still need stability, this is a great option—easy to carry, quick to deploy, and steady enough to support a bigger lens. I did have one small issue at first when I “over-loosened” the twist locks and the inserts fell out. Not a deal breaker now that I know, but something that could be improved. Likewise, a lock/unlock system for the yoke swivel would make it even better. Overall, I’m super happy with this monopod and think it will prove useful in multiple situations—hunting, hiking, or even photography. ... show more

  • Came Apart and Couldn't Put Back Together
This shooting stick is a huge disappointment! There is no internal cord to keep the sections together. If you unscrew the sections too far, the stick comes apart. Small plastic pieces fall out and I found it too hard to put it back together. Although it is lightweight, it doesn't work well in it's current design. This is a poor value for the money and I cannot recommend it. ... show more

  • Has it's assets, but needs a bit more refinement.
This stick is really kind of a mixed bag, in my perception. Credit where it's due: It is a very heavy duty aluminum. Downright confidence inspiring. The ability to swap from a rubber tip to a pointed metal tip is pretty great and useful. The weapon cradle is pretty versatile to most any long arm I could see carrying in the field. It collapses to a wonderfully short height, and expands tall enough for most anyone short of Nephilim. As a minor caveat, I wish there were a way to store the tip that is NOT in use. a small attached tube, maybe a threaded section along side the pole, etc. Without that, parts easily get thrown into the unused/mis-matched box of obscurity to never be of service when needed. In my area, there is literally a lot of varying terrain, seasons, and reason to alternate from one tip to the other. a ready way to carry that spare tip would be nice. Now, my major dislike...I don't like all the twist friction locks on it. I know there are better locking mechanisms out there that can be much more easily trusted. The first couple times I played with it, I had it collapse unexpectedly on me. This makes it unstable as a hiking staff, and also less reliable as a rifle rest, whether focusing on one shot or a follow up shot. There are a good many of them to fail. At one point in my life, I too was once a young man "With a grip so strong I could crush a raw potato" but as a consequence of life, I am no longer there. I in fact have carpal tunnel. Outside of the aging and infirm sorts, it's alot harder to really lock something like this in if your hands are freezing, or if you're simply exhausted from doing lots of outdoorsy things already. I might find use of this thing in circumstances where I could x2 check it with channel locks or vise grips, but only when I know I don't plan on collapsing or extending it again for the duration of my activities. It's got some positive points going for it, but it could use a little more refinement. ... show more

  • Great monopole
Got this to use in my tree stand. I like that it is telescopic so I can get the height perfect for my shot while sitting. The adjustment knobs are easy to twist loose/tight silently for expanding/contracting the monopole. It comes with a metal spike end and a rubber end. Perhaps the spike would be good in my ground blind, but I’ll be using this with the rubber end which is wide enough not to slip in the metal grating floor of my tree stand. Slim enough design that I can hold it steady while also grabbing the edge of the shooting rail in the stand to make it rock solid. The rifle rest is wide enough on top for my .270 and my 30-06, and holds the gun silently when lining up my shot. For grins I tried it standing up, I’m 6’ and it adjusted to the height needed to take a shot. I found it harder to hold steady when standing and not braced against anything, but for those that prefer this type of setup for hunting, I’m sure it will work just fine. If you could brace it against anything solid, it might make it easier to get a good shot off. It’s lightweight and slips easily into my backpack. Definitely a good one. ... show more

  • Excellent build, multi use, competitive pricing.
This field stick for long guns is fully adjustable in height with "Twist Friction" locking. The 5 section pole is infinitely adjustable, NOT just to predetermined heights with those pesky button hole locks. This means it can double as a walking stick, or hold still a camera or in my case a spotting scope. The base accommodates two ground ends, one made of rubber the other a point for use in soil.. The yoke has higher than average side, and I like that as it limits movement and makes for a steadier hold. It has a adjustable tightness knob built in, the yoke can swivel 360 degrees and the mount is a universal 1/4 inch thread which can accommodate most cameras and spotting scopes. Has a lanyard in the handle when using it as a walking stick. Folds up compact to fit in a day bag or even a deep pocket hunting jacket. Very Reasonably priced at $29.99 I RECOMMEND. ... show more
