Love this little machine. Have boxes and boxes of biz and tax documents too sensitive to throw in trash dating back to the 90s (ahhh!) stacking up and this last move (ow my back) had had enough and got this little shredder. It is eating those papers up and making my life so much simpler and less cluttered (less boxes to store and haul yay!). It's unobtrusive and nice to look at and just parks somewhere inconspicuous while not in use and blends in. It has wheels (the best!) so I don't have to lug it from spot to spot or find a surface to park it on. I'm not really testing it on thick stacks of paper to see if it goes all the way up to its specs, I'm just handing it small stacks and it works well and chops up small staples easily and goes through laminate in the little dvd slot easily. It's also not very loud. Was considering cheaper shredders but this project is long overdue with so much paper to work through I went for the slightly more expensive shredder that can handle multiple sheets, laminate, dvds, staples, and has wheels — and I'm so glad I did. Am happy with purchase. Would buy again. ... show more

My old shredder finally quit, and I replaced it with this one. I like it better. It works great and I like that you can shred credit cards with it. It is not as noisy as the old one either.

3 stars was generous. The switch on this unit has a very loose cheap feel. I don't expect it to last long. The shredded paper bin has no handle with which to pull it out. Just give it a squeeze along the side and hope for the best. Expect this to come loose fairly quickly. When lifting it, the first place you will grab will end up lifting the motor/cutter unit off the top - no other obvious handles. Too early to speak to it's utility as a shredder. Will think carefully about buying this brand again. ... show more

I loved this shredder when I first got it. Shredded a bunch of old bills and it ate four sheets at a time with no issue. Love the color and capabilities. The most I've put through at once was five sheets and it handled very well. It WAS very quiet... I have had this machine for exactly a month now and the noise coming from it went from normal to nail curling. I put two sheets in, it shreds it no issue, but then makes this god awful noise at the very end. Metal rubbing together? Screeching? Gears rubbing together? High-pitched grinding noise? I cannot describe it but unfortunately I wont be using it anymore. It sounds like it's going to break every time I use it. I contacted Aurora directly, hopefully this is remedied immediately. I am quite upset, I bought this for my business and I'm essentially back at square one with disposing of old statements. I gave it two stars because the first three weeks of having this it was wonderful. Too bad it absolutely sucks now. Nothing is caught in the shredder, it works the same way. Just sounds like its about to break down and possibly start a fire in my new office. ... show more
