The system is better than normal latch and hasp - the screws needed to be longer to actually secure. So each application is different. Had to drill the hasp hole to 11/32 as the hole size provided was too small for the lock used. Appears that this device should come with more hardware / screw options and hole for the lock should be larger - to accommodate a normal lock. Also the alignment is critical to allow the bar to slide - this worked in the application used - but had to shim under one of the brackets.

This is sturdy enough but every hole in it is undersized. It comes with screws to mount it but they are tiny and nowhere strong enough to make it secure. The same is true of the holes for the padlock, which are way undersized for an ordinary padlock. I had to drill out all the holes in order to make it an acceptably secure closure. If you are able to drill out the holes for the reasons above it will be OK. That should not be necessary for a sliding bolt of this type so i am unable to recommend it for those who might not care to go through that hassle.As sent this is not a secure bolt. .
