    • Makes Planting Holes So Much Easier
If you’re a gardener who doesn’t enjoy digging holes by hand, this 4 x 25-inch garden auger is a great tool to have. Just hook it up to a drill and let it do the digging for you. We use ours a lot around our plant farm, and because we sometimes have a large number of holes to dig, I usually use a corded drill so I’m not constantly running through cordless batteries. For normal home garden use, a cordless drill should work just fine. It saves a lot of time and effort, and we highly recommend it for planting shrubs, flowers, and other plants. If you have clay soil like we do here in the south it will grind the soil up so when you plant your not having to deal with the clumps of red clay. Live in the south? You know what I am talking about... LOL ... show more

This thing definitely has what it takes. But trust me, DO NOT attach it to your drill or you'll kill your chuck. Sadly we hit rocks the first hole that did this even with high torque low speed. It works like a charm with a socket and rachet and you have better views of rocks that'll need dug out. I know it's tedious but , it WORKS. We used it to dig 7 two feet deep post holes for our privacy fence.and it was a time saver even with the rachet powering it We were using 8ft steel posts because our dog is way to strong for vinyl. It doesnt cut through rocks or thick roots ( break out your nippers) but it pulled up small rocks and roots in our rocky soil filled with roots. We had grapevines growing like crazy on the fence line and MANY ROOTS and rocks. It held up very well and only lost paint on the rocks. No dents. It cut through clay like butter. We knew once the top reached the top of our hole we were done. It was a perfect size for 2 and 3/8 poles cause left just enough room to level the poles. IF it worked on the drill it would've been a real time saver but again, it killed my chuck on my impact drill so I strongly suggest not using a drill you like to test it. After watching the video on this product I was kind of skeptical, but went ahead and bought it anyway to try it out. It works great, but you do need to pay attention when using it, because if it catches big root or stone it will twist your arm. It does a great job of digging holes or tilling the soil which is what I use it for, where I live my soil is mostly clay, Gumby clay, as they call it here. If your a gardener I would recommend this.     • Works great for post holes
In needed to make some post holes for several projects. I hate digging post holes. I used this tool on a decent sized drill and found that it bores right in to make a 4 inch hole. Then I used a post hole digger to shave the sides to make a bigger hole... much easier than digging a virgin hole. So the process is auger, shave, repeat... makes your holes in no time with a lot less work. ... show more

Why did you pick this product vs others?: drill shank bent of 1st hole (hit a 3/8" root). Hammered straight and used for 4 more holes before it snapped. Shank is a softer metal than what it is welded to.
