I'm pretty happy with this. Full disclosure - I am a lapsed instrument-rated pilot working on getting back into flying so I haven't used this in flight yet. This kit delivers on a few pain points I have with instrument flying. I like the flight pad that contains all the pieces of information you need to plan your flight. Empty data fields means you missed something. I never liked writing "CRAFT" on a blank page - you should have a pad for it. It would be nice if it had the actual letters contained in that section of the notebook but space is at a premium. The check box for "close flight plan" will save some of you a whole lot of grief as well! The kneeboard is lightweight (aluminum?) and the strap goes on easily after a moment of thought. As someone getting back into it, I appreciate that the kneeboard lays out all the requirements of IFR flight. Some of the notes are more valuable than others, and given the tight real estate and the very small font I would have removed some of the info. Some things are easy to remember on their own and some aren't. The section on holding patterns is also helpful. The pen was nice to have but probably unnecessary. There was a wax bulb on the tip that took some time to remove - kind of odd. The box that this came in is very very nice, which makes this really gift-worthy. I'll give this a try while doing some simulator work and see if it's helpful!

Great kneeboard for IFR rating as well as general use. The scratch paper pad with template is by far my favorite feature. I usually use a scratch paper and would write notes prior to my flight and this is way more convenient and organized. I like the pen holder on the clip as well as an extra holder on the strap for a spare pen. It is very easy to secure to your leg and the Velcro/elastic strap is good quality. The notes that are engraved on the kneeboard are good just in case you are unsure about certain things. I’m using this currently for my IFR rating and I love it. Highly recommend this product.

The notepad is nice, the clipboard backer is solid but the clip itself its a bit flimsy, especially the pen holding portion. The pen itself is adequate. All in all, what one would expect for the asking price. I don't know about real world usage, I'm just using it for Microsoft Flight Simulator..

I have a few items from EntireFlight and they are all excellent quality. I ordered this kneeboard as a lightweight alternative to my bigger kneeboard that is a tri-fold design. Sometimes the tri-fold is just too bulky so this is a very nice alternative. Sturdy and lightweight. The IFR notepad is very good. It could use a few little changes but that is all up to pilot preference. The one issue I have with the notepad is that the pages do not rip off cleanly. The top of the page always rips and leaves some pieces behind.

Aluminum pad with velcro tabs Nice for a student pilot, full of info , however the font is way too small I recommend using a magnifying sheet above above the small prints to be able to make read it. It comes with an attached notepad and one which is handy

This kneeboard has so much information in such a compact space! EntireFlight does a great job making a metal kneeboard with a durable finish, comfortable strap, and easy-writing pen. The tear pad might not say "CRAFT" for clearance delivery, but it functions the same. This is great for learning and practicing paper skills. Even with electronic flight bags in wide use, this makes an excellent backup! No fluffing about with trying to poke the right part of your screen to write down your clearances... just grab the pen or a pencil and go!

As a soon to be student pilot, I wanted to go ahead and purchase the tools necessary for learning everything around the PPL. And experienced pilots will now push back and tell me that I won't need IFR anytime soon, but I went ahead of myself and got it anyway. Just like its VFR sibling it is a high-quality knee pad for flight prep and note taking that won't disappoint. Unless you have massive thighs, it will fit nicely around your leg.The pen clip is a must have feature on this board. It comes with a block of (I didn't count) about 100 sheets for structured flight planning / note taking.

I have a family member that is seeking a career as a pilot. He absolutely loved this kneeboard. It is basically a smaller lightweight clipboard with a lot of important information on it with a IFR Flight Notepad. It comes with an elastic strap and pen in a box ready to be packed for travel. It is a nice set overall. He particularly liked the kneeboard. It is great for him to study the information and gain knowledge. I would recommend this.
