  • Very Effective!
When I first purchased the BP40 mic I was very pleased. With the low pass filter switch turned on, I was getting great "out of the booth" takes, making my recordings of music reviews much easier. Close listening to those tracks revealed that I was still getting too much incidental sound and noise. This little mount solved the issue. My studio/workroom was never designed for recording. Built for composing and Samp,\e based orchestrating, it has many noise sources - 20 TB of external drives on stands, two desks, each 6' long for synths, midi keyboards and the like, and another for a computer (an iMac Pro) and ancillary gear. I can route audio either through an eighteen input mixer, or, as with this mic, directly to my interface, a Presonus Studio 192. I don't know which gear was making the noise I was hearing. As it was intermittent, I suspect the computer or perhaps one of the drives had a fan the somehow was transmitting low frequency sound to the mic in spite of a well dampened mount for the mic boom. The AT BP40 has internal dampening that when used with the low pass filter usually can handle this kind of noise, but there's something in my studio that was defeating It. I really, really like this mic. It handles my baritone speaking voice very well, and is very reasonably priced, so rather than move up to spending another six or seven hundred, I took a chance and ordered this shock mount. What more can I say, than that it works. My desktop rumble has been tamed. ... show more

  • 2 wrong items
On the description or the item it states that the model number is AT8484 (for the BP40) this is now my second time in just two days that I have received the wrong item both have been the AT8449a. It says it on the box what the content inside it is. But then in another tag it states it is the AT8484 which is wrong. ... show more

  • Expensive, but worth it!
If you have the budget to spend a hundred bucks on a shock mount, go for it! It's built for the BP40, and works perfectly with it. I didn't want to trust this expensive and heavy mic with a cheap chinese shock mount, so i had to invest in this and it's completely worth it.

  • Smart Design|Easy to Use
Does exactly what it is supposed to do! This design is brilliant! you can secure the mic with just one hand. Drop it in, twist the outer ring, balls engage and voila! This is a proper shock mount for an excellent microphone. Bye Bye Electro-Voice RE 27/ND and Shure SM7B!

  • Great with the AT BP40!
Good quality. Really helps reduce noise coming up from studio desks from keyboards, hands pounding, etc. Plus it looks VERY cool.
