  • I wanted to give it a little time to review. I love it!
Great all around. The speakers sound really nice, and I consider myself a audiophile. Not perfect, but for the price and simplicity, very impressive.

  • Couldn't be happier
This has been a perfect turntable for us. We are beginners and it was so easy to assemble. The sound quality is amazing. Highly recommend this model to anyone, especially beginners like myself.

  • Great beginner turntable
I'm very pleased with this turntable. It was an upgrade from a cheap Crosley suitcase-style record player, and the sound quality is miles ahead, comparable with the great JVC component stereo system I had in my youth back in the '80s. The speakers are small but pack a punch, especially in the bass. Setup was smooth and easy. Please note that the speakers are powered separately, so they will need to be plugged in along with the turntable itself. You can connect the turntable to a stereo receiver if you want to, but this is a standalone system that will get you playing your vinyl in a couple of minutes. Comes with a nice record-cleaning kit that seems pretty high-end. If you have the speakers set up right next to the turntable, as in my photo, the entire space needed is about 26" wide, so it fits in a compact space. Highly recommended. EDIT: I forgot to mention my one regret about this turntable, which is that it does not include an auto-return or auto-stop feature, so when your record is done, it will keep spinning for infinity until you manually stop it, which could wear down both the needle and the record if you forget and let it keep playing. Otherwise no complaints. ... show more

  • Gift
Speakers sound better than expected, and I am a recording engineer. I gave it as a gift, the turntable doesn't feel cheap at all and Audio Technica carries the name of budget king in many ways. Needle will auto reset when record is over. Plater is smooth, and you got variable speeds to select.

  • Wow! Great sound - so affordable!
The media could not be loaded. I’m in love with this turntable/speaker package! Just got it tonight - it was delivered quickly and safely, very simple to set up, and I think the sound quality is amazing for a real actively inexpensive system. I love the compact nature of the speakers but don’t let size fool you - they pack a punch, with great bass. I added a quick video of the first thing I played on it. There’s some hum in the background from our refrigerator (lol) but the system itself sounds great in person. Im a very happy camper. ... show more

  • I'm a Perfectionist, So I Notice Little Problems and Discrepancies
Right out of the box I was disappointed with the purchase of this Audio-Technica turntable; I was supposed to receive a record cleaning kit. Well, the company shipped the box for the record cleaning kit, but the box was empty--not one single piece of the kit was to be found inside the box. It seems that no matter how scrupulous one is with buying on-line there is almost always a problem with the order. The turntable's sound is acceptable, but in no way, shape, or form does it compare to my older JVC Model #L-F210--a vintage 1985 model turntable that is still going strong, and that literally blows away the Audio-Technica turntable. The addition of the PreSonus Eris Series E3.5 High-Definition Media Reference Monitors (speakers for you non-technical people) is a very nice touch; the two PreSonus speakers rather forced me into rating the Audio-Technica turntable Four Stars instead of the Three Stars that it otherwise would have received. So, the pros about the Audio-Technica turntable: it is very stylish and looks great on my wall unit with my other stereo equipment; it is simple to hook up; its sound quality, while not outstanding is at least decent; and, best of all, it functions as a stand-alone system. Hook up the Audio-Technica turntable to the two PreSonus speakers in a matter of minutes and you've got a fairly decent stand-alone turntable system. The cons for the Audio-Technica turntable: as mentioned previously, the manufacturer shipped an empty box when the manufacturer SHOULD have shipped a record-cleaning kit; the turntable/speaker combination has nowhere the depth of sound that I get from a 38-year-old JVC home stereo component system; the "start" and "stop" buttons are cheap and flimsy; and the turntable does not seem durable--as in strong and rigid--it has a cheaply-manufactured "feel." If I had to do it again, I probably would have still purchased the Audio-Technica turntable, bearing in mind that the stereo equipment manufactured in this day-and-age does not come anywhere close to what was manufactured decades ago--especially from the better stereo equipment manufacturers in the previous eras. This is why I rated the Audio-Technica turntable Four Stars. ... show more
