Bought this as an adjunct turntable/speaker for my son to use downstairs in his music room. At 18 he definitly is bit by the vinyl bug. These are "Active plugged in speakers" with direct connection from back of turntable to the left channel speaker. Thrre is a wire that connects right and left speaker. It's all there for a quick out of the box experience. NO AMP NEEDED. If you're an advanced audiophile with tons of money to throw aroumd...probably not for you. If you are a beginner or enthusiast and wanting back into Vinyl, it's a great start to get spinning while you save up or search for a bigger higher quality sound. It is automatic which means no lifting up the needle with your fingers and setting it down and scratching the album. At the end of the record it auto-returns. This is a 5 on all accounts if this is what you are looking for in the price range. Compared to higher end turntables you may be disappointed with the overly plastic look and feel. (The turntable is a heavy aluminum platter btw). I added a video of the first play and what the components look like. Enjoy.

The media could not be loaded. This is an awesome upgrade from the record player I just got rid of. I like how this audio technica record player does not have internal speakers, nor does it have Bluetooth capability. I was told per a record player specialist at a record store that it’s best to invest in a record player that doesn’t have Bluetooth and internal speakers, because of the sound quality and quality of the overall record player. I gave this player four stars only because it felt a little too much like heavy plastic, but once you put on the drive belt, it gives it more weight. But overall, this is a really great purchase for newbie vinyl spinners! The sound quality is great , you can also replace the needle when it’s time, the speakers put out great sound quality, and I like the automatic start and stop feature it has so once the record stops playing and gets to the last song, it’ll automatically stop on its own & the needle hand will move back to its resting position . I also like that this record player comes with a record care solution, and it also comes with a brush with a velvet pad which also includes a microfiber carrying pouch. Definitely a great buy, it’s worth the money and especially great for rookie vinyl players as an upgrade.

The acrylic lid arrived scratched up and cracked. Unfortunately I didn’t open this item for a few weeks before I was planning on giving it as a gift. I was beyond the return window so they wouldn’t do anything about it. If you buy, please open it immediately and report any damages. Otherwise this player is beginner friendly and not a bad choice for your first system.

My daughter has the vinyl bug that I have had since I was a child. Last year we got her one of the travel case players, and she has continued to be spirited by vinyl. So this year for Christmas, we got her this set, and we are all extremely pleased and happy with the product. Sound quality is excellent, and the pushbutton lift/lower/start/stop on the turntable are great. Honestly this set would keep any audiophile happy, anything more than this is simply getting more power and features.
