This is a fun little toy/hobby tool. It's not an industrial CNC but it seems to be of good quality. Cuts well in thin and dark materials and has excellent accuracy. The app controller app kind of sucks, but that's no different than any other app controlled device I have gotten from China. Can't speak on the windows controller as I haven't used it yet, but from other reviews I've read it seems to be much more robust and rich with features than the app controller. I believe this would be a wonderful way for hobbiest and student's to get familiar with CNC controlled devices.     • Solid Starter Engraver — Compact, Beginner‑Friendly, and Easy to Learn On
I’ve used a few different laser engravers over the years, and this 3W model fits nicely into the “great for beginners” category. It’s not built for heavy cutting, but if you’re learning the basics or only need something for small projects, it does exactly what it should without feeling overwhelming. Setup was easier than I expected. I had it put together and running within about an hour. I’m sure someone brand new might take a little longer, but I didn’t run into anything confusing or frustrating. That alone makes it a decent beginner option in my opinion. A 3W laser has obvious limits. You’re not cutting plywood with this thing. But for engraving wood and leather, it does a nice job. Dark acrylic works too. Small text comes out readable as long as you dial your settings in. It’ll score thin material and cut paper or cardstock, but that’s about as far as I’d push it. The 300×300mm work area is actually pretty generous for something this size. It’s plenty for coasters, small signs, tags, and practice pieces. The spot size isn’t ultra-precision industrial level or anything, but for hobby use it’s detailed enough. It works with LightBurn, which is always nice. The documentation says it supports LaserGRBL too, but I didn’t test that part. One thing I really like is the footprint. It doesn’t take over your whole desk, and it’s easy to stash away when you’re done. That’s helpful if you don’t have a dedicated workspace. If you’re just getting into laser engraving and don’t want to spend a ton upfront, this is a reasonable place to start. It’s not fancy, and it has limitations, but it’s a good way to learn without feeling like you bought more machine than you can handle. ... show more
