When I use a hose-based yard sprinkler, I like to have a short hose in-between my main garden hose that has a shut-off valve. The short hose then runs from the shut-off valve to the sprinkler attachment. This allows me to control the water pressure to the sprinkler from the hose shut-off valve, and not have to adjust by running back to the end of the hose and the valve on the wall (I hope that's clear). Anyway, I needed a replacement "short" hose and saw this one in the Vine program listings. It works perfectly in its intended role. The hose is light-weight, but appears to be well made. The hose is a convenient size and I like the black color. The fittings are brass and well made. The hose doesn’t seem “heavy duty “ compared to other hoses.

This short 10' hose arrived quickly and feels like great quality. The hose itself is thick and the ends are brass which I prefer over plastic connectors and it has been leak-free since connecting it. I am using this as an extender buried in the ground (under our tumbled glass mulch yard) to hook up a soaker hose in a flower bed and it has been great for this purpose. There is an extra protective area where the hose meets the brass ends and it came with a mesh strainer ring inside the female end of the hose. It arrived rolled in a loop and even though it is thick quality it is relatively soft and pliable for hoses of this material and easily straightened out and stayed flat and straight immediately. A great length for the shorter spans in the garden, not a lot of extra hose to coil around your feet. The connects are great, no leaking. Rolls up easily, and doesnt seem to kink easily. The black really warms up the water that is in it , great in the cooler weather left out in the sun, but on hot days, keep it tucked into the shade of your garden flower beds. ... show more

This "Atlantic Heavy Duty 5/8 Inch x 10 Foot Black Hose" is very supple and soft, yet very sturdy, and should last a very long time under virtually all conditions. Although I wouldn't want to keep it full of water in "freezing" temperatures outside, as that is unnecessary stress on it (and on any outside water container). I really like this hose, it's heavy duty, flexible, sturdy, and the brass ends with the stress reliefs, complete the list of features. I am using the garden hose as a leader into my garden cart. The hose is nice and a little soft, so it really bends, and it doesn’t kink even when I am moving the garden cart around. We needed an extension for our current hose to reach where I moved my garden table. This hose perfectly fit our needs! It's well made and you can feel the quality of the hose itself. It does not leak(the old spigot itself is leaking in the photo, we can't move or replace that without ripping into the wall). The connection with our longer hose is also leak free and they fit together flawlessly. I got this 10 foot hose to attach to the bottom faucet of my rain barrels. I wanted a hose that was sturdy enough to be out in the weather for 6 months out of the year, "weighty" enough to stay inside a watering can while filling, and easy to remove and attach between faucets.
