  • Thin with a nice finish
I didn't have the highest hopes when I ordered these, but I've been making etched/engraved anodized aluminum name plates in a die cutting machine and wanted to see if these might also work just as well as thicker aluminum sheets. They do, kind of. Pros: They are thin. If you're making business cards and don't want them obnoxiously thick, these are great. I'm sure they laser etch wonderfully. The finish is quite good! It looks like a nice matte anodized aluminum. I was afraid they'd be glossy. They also come with a carrying case. Cons: They are thin. The coating doesn't seem like typical anodized aluminum -- it's more plastic-y, and doesn't etch as clean as thicker, more typical anodized aluminum. But, you CAN etch/engrave these with a mechanical device like a die cutter with an engraving or etching tool. I used a Silhouette Curio with a Chromas Creations engraving tool and very light pressure/speed settings (standard sketch settings for cardstock, actually). ... show more

  • Awesome cards for something unique!
These are pretty fun to mess around with and it took me about 4 cards front and back to find the right setting on my Cricut with the engraving tool. • Good quality
I got these business card blanks to use with my laser engraving machine. They are a good weight, have smooth edges, rounded corners and there are 5 different colors. The colors are subtle and beautiful! I tried a couple in my machine and they turned out pretty good, but I'm new to engraving and have not yet worked out the bugs in my machine set-up, so my results were not up to my standards. I'm sure it is because I am a novice to laser engraving and not the fault of the product. ... show more

  • Similar to the ones that are provided in material pack with the xTool laser cutter
These are similar to the ones provided in the materials pack for my M1. They are thinner than I would like, and almost have a plastic feel to some of them. They do cut well though, and gave a nice end product. I’m not too happy how finger prints show up on the dark colors, but it is what it is with this glossy material. Overall, these are nice and cut well with the laser. ... show more

  • Very neat cards if you are looking for something distinct
They can take some trial and error, but these cards will help you make an impression, whatever you use them for. It’s nice that there are 5 colors to try. The carrying case can’t hold all of them, but it can hold at least 20 which can protect them if you want to bring cards out with you without them getting damaged or dented. I wanted to try them out as business cards so I made a sample design and used my diode laser (Creality CR-Falcon 10W) to try engraving some samples. I hadn’t engraved anything metal before, so I quickly learned that the normal metal engraving settings are WAY too high for aluminum this thin. The laser punched and dented the back of the card, and the denting made it jump out of place during the lasering(so it’s a good idea to secure the cards before you engrave them.) The photo of the blue card shows the back of a damaged card, after the laser beat it up. After a few more attempts, I found good pretty success on my laser with the speed set to 2000 mm/min and 60% power(other lasers will probably be different). For what it's worth, that's about 10x slower and half the power that was recommended for engraving thicker metals. I then ran the test design across all colors which confirmed that the color of the card has an impact on what your settings need to be. So when you calculate how many cards you are going to make with this set, I would make sure you factor 1 or 2 of each color as test pieces, so you can customize the settings and get the results you want. You can see in the photo that the silver card did not engrave well with my normal settings, and the black and blue cards did ok, but probably needed more power to cut through more of the coloration. The copper and yellow ones came out the best. The level of detail that the cards allow from the laser is very good. The engraving is very precise, but the darker colors show just a little bit of a shadow at the edges of the engraving. It’s only noticeable if you are doing very fine details. The cards don’t really feel like metal, but they do have a decent metallic sound when they are dropped (and honestly if they felt like metal they would probably make bad business cards.) As metal, they can be bent and dented easily, and undoing the damage is not easy. The coloring can also scratch off from sharp objects or even the edge of another nearby card. The bottom line is that they need extra care for them to keep looking great. Metal cards don’t exist because they are practical, they exist because they are unique (and awesome.) I think this set is a good sampler, because I intend to pick a color and then buy more of that color only, rather than always buying different colors. But this gave an affordable way to actually see results in different colors. Having multiple colors could have uses though, like for categorizing things. ... show more

  • Super thin, many colors, included card holder. Worked well on 5W Atomstack A5 Pro.
This was the first metal material I tried to engrave in my Atomstack A5 Pro. I used Light Burn to etch a materials test, and found a setting of 600mm/20% power seemed to look the best. I did a few tests, and beyond my difficulty lining up the cards, it worked well. YouTube tutorials show cutting out thing wood sheets to make holders for multiple cards which should help. ... show more

  • Great metal blanks at a great price!
I am new to engraving and wanted to use something to practice with. These are great cards, thin, and colorful. The business card holder is a bonus and is engravable as well. 50 cards with the holder at this price is a great value. I recommend.
