  • Beautiful Machine with Impressive Specs and Xtra Goodies
Style: RTX 4070
MODEL#: H7604JI-DS96T P/N#: 90NBOZD2-M001K0 32gb / 4070 I waited through Black Friday and Sunday night when Cyber Monday sales were popping up so to get the best price possible. I didn't see the price come down as it was pegged at $2,499.99 so I purchased it anyway. Lucky for me, my order hadn't shipped when I noticed it dropped down to $2,374.99...so I successfully canceled my original order and reordered it at the lower price. The Amazon details for this laptop mentioned it came with a backpack...unless I missed it, it didn't state whether the Asus pen was included. From reading online reviews on various sites, it became increasingly confusing whether this particular model did in fact include the Asus pen. I was pleasantly surprised to find the Asus pen in the box. The backpack is modern looking, functional, and of adequate quality. The fit and finish of this machine is outstanding! The OLED screen looks great. It is quite snappy although my Acer Spin 5 might be a tad quicker from power off to login screen. I upgraded the ram to 64gb before I even turned it on for the first time. I went with Crucial ram. It has one 32 gb ram stick so not two 16s. So a ddr5 sodimm 5200 is all you'll need to upgrade. It also has an empty spot for another SSD. Accessing the internal components is easy to accomplish. I was reluctant to update the BIOS as there were some older posts on Reddit about updates bricking this machine. However, I came across a user that posted 2 weeks ago that stated his machine updated without issue. Mine was obviously also fine, so it appears Asus or Microsoft fixed the bad update. The ProArt Hub is cool...I especially like the Asus dial. I have already mapped some of the functions to execute shortcuts for Affinity Designer and Affinity Photo. The pen works great...it is very responsive and accurate. As of right now, everything is working as advertised, I am happy with the purchase. I would definitely recommend this machine to other creators. ... show more

  • Bought it for photography use
Style: RTX 4070
Bought this to replace an aging desktop PC. Overall, it does content creation very well. The pen works on the screen and on the touchpad making it very easy to edit in PS and LR. The rotary dial takes getting used to but for precision, it works best. We upgraded the laptop to 64GB DDR5 5600 memory as well as added an additional 2TB WD SN850 since it only came with a limited amount of storage. The OLED Screen is top-notch. Out from the factory we measured the screen using a spectrophotometer and it covered 100% sRGB, 98.7% DCI-P3, and 96.4% aRGB. With the Gamma DeltaE of <1.2 and color accuracy of DeltaE of < 1.0. Making this really great for photo editing. It is good enough that we didn't need to recalibrate it. The only con we have with this is the power brick it came with. It is very large. However, we purchased a GaN 140W PPS PD3.1 power adapter and it does provide enough power and charge at the same time. Finally, as a surprise, it comes with a very usable carry bag/backpack. It is very welcoming that ASUS just threw it in for the price. Overall, if you are looking for an alternative to offering from Apple this is probably the best. This is designed specially for content creators and it does it immaculately. ... show more

  • Some issues but very pleased
Style: RTX 4060
Asus ProArt StudioBook 16 Overall, I am very pleased with the StudioBook 16 (H7604J). I give it a 5 except for the issues listed below all of which were resolved. The system I purchased included: Intel i9, Nvidia 4060, 32GB DDR5 RAM, and a 1 TB SSD. It came with Windows 11 home. It came with the backpack, but I did not find the pen included. My old Surface Pro stylus works okay. I got the ASUS StudioBook 16 to replace an aging i7 desktop that I built in 2009. I wanted something that would be a step up in running Adobe Photoshop and Adobe Premiere. The StudioBook 16 certainly is that. It runs City Skylines 2 which according to developers will not run on Xbox Series X. Unless it is crunching some very graphics intensively, it runs silently. Even with the fan on, it is still quieter than my desktop. Here are a few issues that I had to work through. 1. I had a problem getting the StudioBook to upgrade to Windows 11 Pro until I did a complete Windows Repair which took nearly an hour to complete. I tried everything including trying to upgrade via Windows Store. Something was blocking the upgrade. This was the most annoying issue. 2. Intel UHD Graphics was the default graphics for the display both internal and external. This could not be changed until I downloaded and installed the current Nvidia driver and selected clean install. Now the display uses the Nvidia GPU. 3. I have a ProArt 32” monitor which is not USB C. The HDMI output to the monitor worked okay, but I had to use a DisplayPort to USB C adapter to get the best display on the external monitor. I also had to use the USB A data cable to use the USB Hub. If I upgrade the monitor to a USB C monitor, then only a USB C cable would be needed. 4. For some weird reason, Netflix would show the opening ads with the internal and external monitor selected, but it would not display a show until just the internal or external monitor was selected. 5. Windows 11 display setting options does not show the external monitor detected, but it does provide the options to select it. This might be an issue with the DisplayPort to USB C adapter. 6. Photoshop 2021 and 2024 work fine and use the dedicated GPU. The shake reduction option in 2021 runs a bit slower, but it works okay. InDesign periodically shows some ghost artifacts. Scrolling down and back up removes them. ... show more

  • Love it
Style: RTX 4070
I have only great things to say about this notebook. Great performance, fantastic screen, excellent sound quality at a relatively reasonable cost, when compared to similar configurations.
