  • Great everyday watch.
Great watch. Quality piece of timekeeping and great value for the money. Feels nice around my wrist and pops when looking at it. The orange hands make it very easy to see and track at first glance. Pretty accurate, I sync it about once a week, while unnecessary. First Automatic watch.

  • Much more accurate than lower version
I had a Seiko 5 mechanical that couldn’t be wound or hacked. It was a nice looking watch but poor time keeper. This watch, however, is far more accurate. Gains maybe a minute or two a week. Looks very nice. Easy to read instantly. The orange really pops out. I wear it frequently and keep it ready to go with a cheap watch winder. Would definitely buy again. Also durable. I’ve used it fishing and doing farm work and not had any problems with scratches. The band is definitely upgraded from the thin canvas strap on entry level Seiko 5 watches. ... show more

  • Great watch worn daily
This is an exceptional, affordable watch. The orange really pops and makes a visual statement. I now wear this watch daily and am very pleased with the quality, accuracy and power reserve. I have a Hamilton that cost twice as much and isn't any more accurate. There are no automatic watches at this price point or 2x the price that will be super accurate. Very glad I purchased this Seiko. ... show more

  • Gateway to Disappointment: A Striking Seiko That Falls Short on Power
★★★☆☆ The Seiko SRPH33 is a in a very good looking matte black case, clean pilot-style dial, and a vivid orange lume that really stands out. The glow fades fast, probably due to its phosphorus base, but while it lasts, it’s eye-catching and uncommon. The included strap was scratchy and cheap; I swapped it for a Ritche right away. It keeps time at about +12 seconds/day, which is fine, but the power reserve is the real issue. Even after a full wind and a full day on my wrist at a desk job, it’s often stopped by morning. For something advertised with a 41-hour reserve, that’s a letdown. This was my gateway drug into horology, now I’ve got a full-blown collection taking over the third floor. But I’ve got a cheap Nautilus homage running a loud little Sea-gull movement that holds power noticeably longer and cost a quarter as much. It’s not as refined, but it does its job better. I know watch prices have gone up like crazy in the last five years, but Seiko can’t coast forever on name recognition. With strong alternatives from Casio, Citizen, and microbrands like Islander using solid movements, the 5 series needs to offer more than style. I guess I’m out of Amazon’s return window, so that’s fine, I’ll probably just end up selling it. Unfortunate that this was an issue with my first Seiko. ... show more

  • Great Timepiece, Lume is terrible.
I really, really like this watch a lot. It's an attractive timepiece that draws a lot of attention because of its colorway. It's made with quality and solid construction. I love the clear back so you can see the gears and heartbeat of the spring operating the watch, as well as the self-winding feature. I set the watch to the world clock using their website. Once set and worn daily, the accuracy of this timepiece is solid—not a second off. Some people mentioned in other comments that it doesn't keep time after a while, but I can confirm that in my case, as long as you wear the watch daily and hand wind it, it's not a problem at all. It's super accurate. I even checked it daily against the world clock website, and there has been no discrepancy. I also tested the watch with water, and it's waterproof and safe. The band is okay; it's nothing special, but it's comfortable and has sizing options. So far, after a week of wearing it daily, none of the black coating has chipped off or shown any signs of wear. The glass also seems fine, with no scratches—though I haven't worn it during hard labor, so that may vary. Now, for the negatives, which comes with the look. The black and orange color scheme looks great, but it can be hard to read sometimes, and the lume on the watch is not good at all. Even after charging the lume, it lasts maybe about 10 minutes before it goes dark and faint. Sadly, for some this could be a major drawback. Other than that, it's a great looking watch and has a certain character set outside most regular watches. ... show more

  • Good for a while
Seems like a nice watch and keeps time. I've only had it for five days, so there's a lot still to be determined. I like the size of the watch. I'm that skinny old man with wrists like a 12 year old. So band is a bit big for me and I have to use the last hole. The watch came in a few days. There is no evidence of the word/label '"Japan" on mine, so if that's important to you.... My biggest criticism of the watch regards the nearly nonexistent lume. Walk into a dark room and you won't be able to tell time. edit 12/8/25 I have had/worn this for 6 months now. The claim of a 41 hour reserve does not hold true for the one I got. Yesterday, for example, I wore the watch all day and walked 5 miles. Watch stopped last night around 11:30 pm. while I slept. This has happened about a dozen times in the last 2 months. It worked better than that for the first few months. At this point I wouldn't recommend it to anyone else. ... show more

  • Great starter watch
It's a Seiko product so you already know you're getting pretty good quality. Fits well, looks great, nice domed crystal. Since the lume is orange it doesn't glow as bright or as long as other colors will. The dial is still readable in a dark environment, it's just a bit harder than others. The strap is durable but will need a little time to break since it's pretty stiff initially. Accuracy is acceptable for how much this watch costs. I am typically seeing 3-4 minutes fast after a week of wear. ... show more
