  • I'm not impressed.
I have seven Asurion accident protection policies showing in my account, and I've never filed on any of them. I'm careful with my stuff. I dropped my brand-new tablet--and, yes, I had both a secure, padded case and a screen protector on it--once. It fell awkwardly, and it's heavy, so it hit a corner and shattered the screen. I immediately filed a claim. A number popped up. I had to call them. I did. Someone answered and asked for my details. I gave them. She said I was eligible for the protection coverage, but she had to transfer me. I waited patiently. Another person answered. I went thriving everything again. They transferred me to TECH SUPPORT. I went through everything again. They couldn't help me, because it was a shattered screen, not a technical problem. So they transferred me back. I went through everything a FOURTH time. They have everything, including verification of my purchase, in their computers. The fourth person apologized and said he'd take care of it. He verified AGAIN that I'm eligible for coverage, apologized for the runaround, and told me to watch my email for next steps. I received the email. They wanted proof of purchase WHICH THEY ALREADY HAVE IN THEIR SYSTEM, so I sent it. I sent the email verification of my purchase of the plan, my order, and the invoice. The final step said that I'll know within 1-3 days whether I'm covered. This is ridiculous. It's terrible customer service, and it's obviously covered. It's a tablet, and I dropped it. The screen is shattered. What's the mystery? Why the hold-up? Amazon needs to go with a different protection service, because this one is frustrating. Update: I received a follow-up email. They needed me to fill out another form with all the information I've already provided and another invoice/proof of purchase, which I've also already submitted. Once that was done, they told me-- AGAIN-- that they'll reach a decision in 1-3 days. I don't know what's so difficult. I proved I bought the tablet. I proved I bought the protection plan. I can prove it's broken. It honestly feels as though they think if they give me the runaround long enough, I'll go away, but I paid for this, and I need my tablet. ... show more
