  • Really came in handy...
My phone stopped working suddenly around the Holiday season, and of course money was tight. Thankfully this warranty really actually did its job and I am so forever grateful. I filed a claim yesterday at around 4:15pm and not even 24 hours later I delivered my broken phone to the drop off location, and got my Amazon gift card reimbursement hours later.   • Hidden fees, don't waste your money
Paid $70 for a phone protection plan then they charged an extra $40 "processing fee" to fix the cracked screen - would have been cheaper to pay for the screen replacement outright. Their repair center didn't have the parts and told us we would have to wait a week to get them. Then they suggested we just call Asurion and tell them they don't have the parts and just to replace the phone. (not sure why we needed to do that rather than the "Asurion repair center") After a very long wait on hold they said they were waiting for the repair center to approve the replacement but couldn't get them to answer the phone - all while I was waiting in the lobby of the repair center. Finally they tell us that after the repair center updates something they'll contact us to send a check. I immediately receive an email that says our phone has been repaired and now has a 12 month warranty on the screen (that was not replaced) and the guy at the counter takes the phone away and says he needs to keep it. (with our data and SIM card) Of course this was unacceptable so I took the phone back and backed up the data, removed the SIM card amidst much protest from the repair center. In the end we were forced to surrender a working phone with a simple crack in the screen and replace the entire phone with a brand new one with no assurance that we would be reimbursed (and still have not been). Furthermore it will take several days for a new phone to get here and my daughter will be without her phone which she uses to coordinate rides for school activities. Several hours of frustration plus several hours finding a suitable replacement (her model no longer available new, trying to find an affordable replacement that works on our network was not easy - if you've bought a phone on Amazon you know what I mean - there are a lot of phones that don't work on US networks or only work on certain carriers. All of this frustration could easily have been avoided but the process through Asurion was terrible. I do not recommend them. ... show more

  • Great insurance for cell phone.
I accidently ran over my phone with a golf cart on a Sunday, had the full price for my phone by Tuesday. I took it to a local cell phone fix-it shop that Asurion wanted me to take it to and they took care of it from there. My phone was completely inoperable which means they weren't able to get my IMEI number off of my phone, I was lucky Metro was able to get it for me. I took a pic with an old phone (I use around the house) of my new phone IMEI so I'll always have it just in case. 5 stars for Asurion! ... show more

They covered the price I spent on an IPhone for my grandson. It completely died and with the Asurian, they gave me a credit with Amazon to purchase him another that. They were very helpful❤. Thankful that I purchased the coverage. Highly recommend...

Value is +/- depending on how you look at it...& whether the product you are insuring, you paid more towards the lower end of the insurance $ amount range or the higher end. It also does not account for inflation replacement costs for the/comparable item. It also doesn't consider the normal retail average retail price of time either, if you bought it on sale. Bottom line, better than a plan from seller/manufacturer... Flexible with getting your replacement first before sending your broken item & generally no deductible & always pre-paid RMA label.   • One Star is TOO GOOD for them - Be FOREWARNED
This review is how Asurion mishandled the repair of a cracked screen of the following product: Motorola Moto G7 Power (64GB, 4GB RAM) Dual SIM 6.2" 4G LTE (GSM Only) Factory Unlocked Smartphone International Model XT1955-2 (Marine Blue) This was a really great phone. I liked it immensely. It had a long battery life, nice size screen, dual SIM; a lot of bang for the buck. But I dropped it on an edge of concrete and cracked the screen. I was bummed but not overly so because I had an Asurion Protection Plan. I thought, "cool, I'll just send it in and they'll fix the screen-no problem." And so I filed a claim and sent in my phone. I sent the package via UPS on April 30, 2021. Five days later (05/05/21) I received an email from Asurion stating, "We processed your reimbursement. We're mailing you a check for $xxx.00. Look for it in the next 10 business days." This was an immediate red flag to me and I got ahold of a customer service representative who told me that "even with a fixed screen the phone wouldn't work as it did before." WHAT? The cracked screen was just an inconvenience the phone still worked fine. If you can't fix the phone then just tell me; I have email and a telephone. Hey, here's an idea SEND IT BACK. Instead the phone was "salvaged" without my consent. If this is a company policy then this policy is crap. It's actually the very foundation for a case action lawsuit in that if it's happened to me then it has probably happened to someone else. Can you imagine if you were to take your car to a dealer for a simple service and then you're told, "we chose not to fix it so we sent to the scrapyard." That's an extreme example but that is the absolute essence of what occurred here. I will NEVER do business with this duplicitous organization again and I urge anyone considering using their "services" not to put your money and trust in them. DO NOT make the same mistake I did. ... show more
