Llevo tres meses utilizando el BOOM 3 y me parece pertinente hablar de sus características. Empecemos por las cosas buenas: 1. CALIDAD DE SONIDO Es necesario resaltar la calidad tan excelsa de sonido que tiene este parlante. Los entendidos sabemos que la conexión por Bluetooth acarrea pérdida considerable en la calidad del sonido. Sin embargo, he de decir que el BOOM 3 me sorprendió sobremanera: agudos y medios en su punto y los bajos, aunque poco notorios y exagerados, son cómodos y audibles. 2. VOLUMEN Y POTENCIA El BOOM 3 es ideal para aquellos que quieran utilizarlo en una habitación pequeña o en una reunión o fiesta. Esto es así porque puede llegar a ser discreto y a la vez muy potente sin llegar a afectar demasiado la calidad de sonido. 3. WATERPROOF No he testeado el parlante sumergiéndolo de lleno en agua, pero se ha llegado a mojar levemente y hasta el momento no ha presentado problemas. Llegó la hora de hablar de lo malo: 1. CARGA Y BATERÍA Si bien es cierto que la duración de la batería no es el fuerte de este aparato, uno esperaría más por algo que cuesta más de cien dólares. Hay aparatos muchísimo más económicos que tienen una carga más duradera independientemente del uso. Si usas el BOOM 3 discretamente, la batería puede durar más de 10 horas non-stop. Pero si usas el BOOM 3 con el volumen máximo, la carga solo te va a durar cuatro o cinco horas (a menos que lo uses mientras esté conectado a la energía). Se entiende que se hayan decantado por un uso más discreto y se hayan enfocado en un parlante que provea una calidad de sonido óptima, pero repito: este parlante cuesta más de cien dólares y me parece que la batería quedó a deber. 2. BUGS Y FUNCIONALIDADES INÚTILES El botón Magic está muy bien pero tiene muchos defectos. Por ejemplo, no reconoce si laa playlists que añadas están en aleatorio y las termina reproduciendo por default. El conectar dos parlantes con la app me parece genial pero dudo mucho que alguien lo vaya a usar del todo. Con la app de Ultimate Ears no siempre puedes conectarte al aparato y en esos casos debes encenderlo manualmente. Hubo una vez que el aparato no respondía a la conexión y, debido a que la caja no incluye un manual de instrucciones, tuve que buscar en internet para ver cómo lo reseteaba por defecto. Resumiendo: Buena calidad de sonido, buena potencia y buena resistencia al agua. Mala distribución de la carga y mal sistema de conexión. ¿Vale la pena comprarlo? Depende de cómo lo quieras usar. Si pretendes usar un parlante para un uso más doméstico y disfrutar de la música en una calidad de sonido decente, este es tu producto. I have owned several Bluetooth speakers over the years and this one wins for most well rounded. I came to the Megaboom as my primary BT speaker from a JBL Charge 4 (which my son now uses). While the JBL is more bass heavy, the megaboom provides a more well rounded sound accenting the middle and high frequencies while still providing ample bass. The megaboom also seems to be louder (although I didn’t run a side by side test on volume). As with all smaller speakers the megaboom really shines when placed against a wall or in an alcove to help the bass. My only complaint (and it’s minor) is that the upright cylinder style makes it kinda hard to place it on various outdoor surfaces. Oh - the app makes adjusting the sound very easy although I find the flat adjustment to be most realistic. Also, you definitely want to look into a charging base if you are going to be moving it around as the single line input gets cumbersome. Overall, recommended. ... show more

The speaker actually sounds great but it doesn't reach the sub bass region. I haven't found a portable speaker that does that so I can't really be mad. I think you have to get something bigger with a sub. But outside of that flaw, it sounded phenomenal. If you're into reggae or hip hop, it doesn't have that deep bass you're looking for but I don't think anything that size will. The sound was not quite as full as the Bose for about the same price but if I got it as a gift, I would be thrilled. ... show more

I seriously love these speakers. And I will continue to buy them because how durable they are . My ONLY complaint is the damn chargers . They are absolute crap . So delicate . Somehow compared to other B chargers . I just bought the speaker yesterday and the charger stops working …. Like why . This has happened on every UE speaker I’ve had . Luckily I have backups . But I just want to know WHY . The cords are trash . Other than that . Love the speaker ! ... show more

In my quest to find a bluetooth speaker that I wouldn't freak about if I dropped it in the river, I stumbled upon Ultimate Ears MEGABOOM 3. This thing floats! I love it. No fear at all taking this thing boating. I got it for $130 and at that price is a good value. It lacks the bass and volume of a higher quality mid range speaker such as Sonos Move or Bose Portable, but at moderate volume, it's fidelity rivals that of those speakers at a third of their price. The ethics of buying stuff made in this product's country of origin is getting dicier by the day...that's my biggest hangup with this speaker. It could be made elsewhere and keep my conscience clear, but, business degrees only care about money in pocket right now. That said, if you are paying more than $130...I think the juice vs squeeze equation is less favorable. This product's reliance on the app is also questionable (have since discovered I can use it as a bluetooth speaker without the app--score!). What else is being compromised because I have to use an app to use a bluetooth speaker? This is probably one of those things that I will regret five years down the road. Frustrating in that regard. You shouldn't need a burner phone to enjoy music. The lack of microphone is somewhat of a drawback too. I'm guessing that they couldn't marry up waterproof and microphone, which is unfortunate. ... show more
