I couldn't play some games like star wars suriver or even nba 2k26, because the demand for vram. I got this and it fit perfectly into what I needed it. I had chatgpt help with measurements a d it said yes. Got it in and now I can play my games and older ones run smoother. So for the price it was definitely easy to choice. Very easy to install, if you dont know how just watch a video but it is almost plug and play. So now I can do 1440. It don't really use more power but I updated my power supply to a 700W so if I change out this one for 16gb. It is worth every penny for what I paid for it. ... show more

I'm not a gamer and I live in the Linux world (Ubuntu). My desktop has a very high end ASUS ROG mobo with built-in video but I wanted something more powerful. For making videos mostly. Prices for video cards has gotten insane lately so I opted for a previous generation video board that was cutting edge a couple of years ago. ASRock is a trusted brand and the price was reasonable so I bought one. Turned out it was totally plug and play. Fully supported by the standard kernel used on Ubuntu 24.04.4LTS..no additional drivers or tweaking needed.
