First and foremost, this cable lock is designed to deter theft, but it won't prevent a determined thief from stealing something it is attached to; I'll explain down below. A product of this type is designed as a visual deterrent - someone sees it, especially in the daytime or where people are around - and they typically will not bother trying to defeat it, so as not to draw attention. This cable is long and flexible enough to attach to a secure object such as a pole, bar, bicycle rack, etc. It has a fairly thick, cut-resistant cable on the inside and a vinyl coating over that to prevent corrosion as well as scratches. It uses a five-digit combination to lock and unlock it, so you don't have to worry with a key which can be lost, broken or just to keep up with. Just a heads up, when locking the cable back, you have to have the code lined up or the "keyed" end will not fit into the cylinder, and once you have it inserted, make sure to change at least one number on the code for it to lock; preferably you'll want to change several or ALL of those numbers for better security. The combination is very easily changed to whatever number you desire, just follow the included instructions. I posted a video showing how to change the combination as well as an overall review of the assembly. Okay, to explain about the security of this product, because it has a cable inside, it will be more difficult to cut it with something like bolt cutters (as shown in the description) because, cable strands are just inherently hard to cut with a tool such as that. It would probably be difficult even to cut it with a hacksaw as well. But the cable could be easily cut with some type of rotating cutoff tool. I have tested several cable locks as well as chain locks and everyone one of them, even the ones made of the most hardened metals, cannot stand up to a powered cutoff tool. I tested one chain lock by trying to cut it with a hacksaw and bolt cutters; neither one made much more than a minor dent in the chain link. But when I used a cutoff tool, it went through that hardened metal quickly - less than ten seconds. The whole key to any product such as this is DETERRENCE; in other words, the more difficult it is to defeat it, the less likely whatever it is attached to will be stolen. To me, this cable lock is a GOOD deterrent to theft, it can't be easily defeated with very little effort. Anyone who attempts to defeat this cable lock, will not be successful unless they use uncommon methods such as a powered cutoff tool. This lock is designed to secure something quickly and easily, eliminating the "snatch and grab" types of theft. It comes with a neat mounting apparatus which can be attached to several places on your bike, etc. And while the cable lock does provide decent protection, it isn't overly bulky or heavy to carry around. Overall, this is a pretty good cable lock and will provide you with a good level of security in most situations. I feel it is a good value, especially considering having it is WAY better than not and the price is excellent for what you get. If you don't have a lock for your bike or other property, this is a good one to consider and I recommend it.

This is a good quality lock with an easy to set 5-digit combination that provides 100,000 unique combinations, making the lock extremely difficult to pick. The cable is nearly 5 foot long, providing plenty of length to secure your bicycle to a fence or to a bike rack. The 11mm steel cable would be extremely difficult to cut, and it is covered with a PVC material to protect your bike from scratches. Note that the mounting bracket will fit a 1 inch bar at best, so I don't use it on my eBike since the tubes are much thicker. Still, the lock itself coils into a compact shape and fits easily in my pannier bag, so this is not an issue for me. Setting a new combination is easy--just open the lock from its default 00000 combination, then turn the axle wheel all the way to the right. Set the new combination, then turn the wheel back to the left. That's it! Be sure the wheel is ALL THE WAY to the right and stays there until the new combination is set, otherwise it may set the combination to something unexpected. Overall this is a great value that provides good security for your bike. It's lightweight, easy to carry, and rugged enough to deter all but the most determined thief!

Got this for my son's new bike, so here are my thoughts. What I like: The cable thickness gives me some peace of mind. The length of the cable was also sufficient. The combination setting process was rather easy even though the instruction manual has some English translation troubles. My 7 and 10 year olds were both able to unlock it with the new combo. What could be improved: The combo dials were slightly difficult/clunky to turn for both big and small hands. Maybe there could be something changed to make it easier to spin. The mounting bracket is a nice thought, although, it may be difficult for a rider to use. The bracket doesn't expand much, so larger frame tubes won't accommodate this. Also, depending on the size of the bike there might just not be a good place to attach it. It can easily get tossed in a bag if you have one while riding around. Overall for the price, it's a decent purchase.

Technically, even though it is a bike lock it can be used to secure many other things as well - lawnmowers, snowblowers, anything you can thread a cable through. This cable is well made and sturdy. The lock is easy to figure out even though instructions could be better (but it is pretty much standard process, nothing too unusual). The mounting bracket on the cable cannot be adjusted to different frames but I think it is easier to use this lock without it. I really like that the cable is coiled, this makes it is more compact when stored but it still can be stretched to full length (about five feet) if need be. The cable is very strong and because it is covered in some polymer it is weather protected and will last for a very long time. Very good security device that is easy to use and works very well. Comes preset to factory combination which is easy to change to your own. Will not rust, also lock rotates and works in well below freezing temperatures. Very happy with this order.

Works great! Solid bike lock, five digits will make it a pain to crack. Obviously anyone with wire cutters can take your bike away, but this gives a layer of protection against anyone just looking to pick one off the street. The cables are thick, should deter against most thieves. Combination lock is easy to spin and use so far, hopefully this will last longer than the life of my e-bike. Bracket that is included is a bit small, I personally didn't find much use for it and found it easier to just carry my lock cable in a bag.
