Great purchase. This plant was much larger than expected. Very healthy. Not a fan of the hanging pot. It looked to flimsy to trust. Otherwise this was a great purchase!

    • Expensive, struggling to survive.
I ordered this plant by accident late one afternoon. About an hour or 2 later i realized my mistake and tried to contact seller but status was already updated to shipped and non-returnable. This never happens when i actually order something i want. I could have died when i got this poor little plant with 4 or so small leaves and tiny dead-topped pitchers, brown and sickly. Im dealing with it as i love my plants but with no way of contacting seller as the "shopping assistant" kept me in a frustrating virtual loop. So my only option left is to warn others to beware, dont pay $30.00 + for this overpriced sub-standard item. Just days later what really charred my chonies was when I saw what these plants are 'supposed' to look like when they're healthy at another store for $16.99. I almost choked, paying double for nothin like the healthy plants. It is also frustrating when there is no given way to contact some 3rd party sellers. I just dont think i should have to lose $32.00 just because. Usually there is a way to remedy such problems and thats alot of $$ for me to lose. I can't rate it as being 'warm' and it wasnt really 'damaged' it wasnt healthy as one would expect. Not giftable either so its more like sick, frustrated and cold. I mean even Home Depot and my local nursery has a plant return policy. And if its not returnable let there be a way to communicate at best to get info on how can it be helped or remedied. ... show more

I LOVE my plant! It is x10 better than I thought it would be! And imagine my joy at finding 2 plants in the pot! I separated them into their own pots! There are TONS of pitchers on my plant! 43 pitchers to be exact, including the bay ones! And each leaf has a bud for another one! They’re not all very healthy looking, but none the less, TONS!! My plant is ABSOLUTELY HUGE!! I separated them, and now I have 2 HUGE plants! I am absolutely THRILLED!!! I highly recommend!! Does anyone has advice on how to separate the baby plants from the mother plants for me? Because the two main, large mother plants have each got at least 4-5 more smaller plants growing off them!! The plants are pretty healthy(as healthy as you would expect after being shipped, poor things). The pitchers came bone dry. I put a little bit of water in each of the big ones. When do they get their digestive juices in the pitchers? Overall, best plant I ever purchased! I couldn’t be happier with my purchase! 10/10!! P.S. I will be doing an update in a few months to show how my plants have progressed.(these plants are indoors for now) ... show more

The media could not be loaded. Okay, my biggest beef with this purchase is the packaging! It came in a box full of styrofoam peanuts HOWEVER, it didn’t say anywhere on the box anything about the fact that the package contained a live plant OR to handle it with care OR Fragile! NOTHING! And so, it was not handled with care! In fact, when it was delivered, I watched the mail carrier stand about 7 feet from my doorstep and chuck the box onto my front stoop!! I was mortified! I opened the box to find carnage AND the soil was BONE DRY! However, because of another wonderful reviewer here, I was able to nurse it back to health and I’m happy to report that my pitcher plant is alive and well and producing new pitchers at a great rate! She’s strong and amazing and I just can’t get over how amazing it is! The fruit flies have lessened drastically and I’m looking into purchasing more! I feel I was very fortunate that 1. There was a detailed review posted by someone who knows what he’s talking about! Because there are no care instructions included with the plant itself! And 2. I got a strong willed plant that refused to die; I’m of the belief that if I had received a wilting and weak plant, I’d of lost my $30! I’d rather pay for shipping and have it cared for well through the process than have free shipping and sit on pins and needles to see if it was going to make it! It’s been nearly a month and all is well! I hope that is long enough for her to be out of the woods! Do your homework! Read up on these plants before you purchase, it will very likely mean the difference between losing your money and a really cool plant as opposed to being capable of bringing it back to life and keeping it going through the trauma of shipping and atmospheric changes! It’s because of these things that I gave only 3 stars bc I think $30 is a lot of money for a plant, regardless of how cool it is and I think if you’re willing to spend that, you should have a full and honest review to go off of!     • The plant is awesome but the hanging basket is a joke
This is a beautiful pitcher plant. It arrived with two pitchers; I fed one a single dehydrated mealy worm that I softened up in water. I cut the mealy worm in half because it was too long for the small pitcher. Then I decided to feed the bigger pitcher 1 worm as well - this pitcher didn't look in great health but both pitchers seem to be slowly digesting the food!!. It is also an attractive houseplant. I had one before that lived several years and the piant and the pitchers were gigantic - then it just suddenly died - I will never know the reason. I truly hope this plant grows to that size because the large pitchers are amazing. Downside it came in a 6" "hanging" basket that is an ugly brown plastic and it only hangs 15" from the top of the pot. The plastic hook at the top is way too wide for most standard plant hangers (I know because my apartment came with 2 of them.) I would need a stepladder to water this plant or even check its moisture content. I have a short stool - no stepladder. I'm letting it settle down and then I'll re-pot in a more suitable and attractive (non-hanging) pot. ... show more
