The enclosure is designed to accommodate a single 18-inch subwoofer. It's best to ensure your subwoofer's specifications match the enclosure for optimal sound quality.

No, this subwoofer enclosure is considered universal fit, meaning it's designed to work in a wide range of vehicles. However, it's always a good idea to measure the intended installation area in your car to ensure a proper fit.

The enclosure is made from 1-inch MDF (Medium Density Fiberboard), which is known for its durability and excellent acoustic properties, ensuring a solid and vibration-free environment for your subwoofer.

The vented port design allows for more efficient airflow from the back of the subwoofer, reducing air pressure inside the enclosure. This results in lower bass frequencies being enhanced, providing a deeper and more powerful bass response compared to sealed enclosures.

🚀 Abunda's Overview

This is our summary and key points to consider based on customer reviews.

The reviews highlight a mixed reaction to the box's quality, size, and design. While some users found the box to be well-made and a good fit for their needs, others criticized its build quality, packaging, and suitability for various speaker models. Poor packaging leading to damage during shipping, and issues with the port design and overall build integrity were common complaints among unsatisfied users. However, satisfied customers praised its solid construction and suitability for specific speaker models.

Pros

  • 👍 Solid build quality for the price
  • 👍 Resolved woofer cutout size issues for some users
  • 👍 Adequate for specific speaker models, like JBL 2242h and Re Audio MX18
  • 👍 Impressive performance when paired with the right driver

Cons

  • 👎 Inconsistent packaging and damage during shipping
  • 👎 Build quality not uniform; issues with port design and structural integrity
  • 👎 Woofer cutout too large for some users
  • 👎 Requires modifications for optimal performance with certain subs

Should I Buy It?

If you're seeking a budget-friendly option and are willing to make potential modifications for specific subs, it might be worth considering. However, if quality and reliability out-of-the-box are paramount, or if your subwoofer model does not match those mentioned as compatible, you might want to explore other options.

  • Low line 18 box if you don't mind small mods.
Would like to give this 5 stars, but a couple details keep me in particular from giving it 5 stars. The problem many reviewers have with the hole size was not an issue for me. An Re Audio MX18 fits perfectly without any modification to the hole. With that said If you have anything but an Re MX18 or any other larger than normal subwoofer you will have issues mounting your woofer as the hole will be too large. Unfortunately the Re needs a much more port area than this box offers, a little over double to be exact, so extensive modifications need to be done to get the sub to perform properly. Also the 2 smaller sides(the port side and the opposite side)are 3/4 mdf. I bought this box to hopefully perform some small mods as I typically do with a prefab, but this one will require more than some small mods. Build quality is good as it is mostly 1"mdf, but needs to be much better for my application. Would recommend for any low line 18, but keep in mind the hole will be too big for a low line 18. ... show more

  • Damaged box received twice . Hole to big. DONT BUY!!
I received a box damaged with a hole cut too big the first time I ordered. I sent in for a return and received another damaged box with the same problem of the damage of the carpet and the whole was too big again. That process took 60 days and now I'm waiting seven days for my refund and have to take both boxes to the dump because they are damaged and defective..I highly recommend it to not buy this product and do not waste your time. I thought I would buy the box to save a little cash from having one custom built but it just ended up being a big hassle!! Furthermore the port design is poor and the box is not very solid. It would need screwed together and reinforced if it has a speaker of any significant value in it, or it will be blown apart in time..too many pictures to post all the damages.. ... show more

  • Please spend your money elsewhere..
Figured this was a logical upgrade from my prefab Skar SDR box.. in every sense, I was wrong. Box is absolutely massive, which would be great if it did anything other than take up space. Let’s start with packaging.. single layer of thin cardboard. That’s it. No double box.. He’ll not even a trash bag to waterproof it. Shredded 2x in shipping and was taped together in seemingly every terminal from the tracking info lol. Next, build quality. It’s cheap mdf. We all saw from the listing sure. But only baffle/top/bottom.. sides are like 1/4”. “Sealed air tight”.. where? I think the whole box has one complete seal from corner to corner. Everywhere else is an inch or two here and there. I could’ve done a better job in the dark with scissors for hands. The port is just a scrap piece of half inch mdf tossed in and held there with what seems to be just prayers.. it rattles. A lot. Not just the port wall.. Everywhere. The terminal cup.. is sad. Very sad. “Spring push terminals”. Nope. You get the garbage screw down ones that loosen if you even talk too loud. And on the inside, the terminals get worse.. Thing of them as thick gold colored tin foil that you’re hooking leads to. Pathetic truly. And the driver cutout is definitely large. Too large for some. I didn’t have that problem though, as mine is girthier than most apparently. Finally, if you overlook all of it flaws.. and lower your jewel into it and connect all the proper lightning hoses to it, you’ll realize that it sounds horrendous. Not just the rattling of every panel. But the tuning.. it’s a joke. Like was no engineering done? “We make box. We cut round hole in box. We put more hole here. But square. Lets the whoosh out. Make go boom boom boom”… All jokes aside, The carpet guy.. make that man Chief Executive Officer asap. He seems to be the only employee without a lower than room temp IQ. Those carpet seams.. chefs kiss. Masterful. TLDR: buy something else.. the Skar prefab SDR18 box is cheap, half the size, better terminals, better tuning, and is usually everywhere on marketplace for less than a Benny. ... show more
