  • Great value, not particle board, deep storage
Color: Brown
Pros: - Cheap, great value - Hardwood-esque. It's some kind of semi-hard wood with a veneer on it. It's not stained hardwood with a poly finish... you won't find that at this price point - Very easy to put together and good instructions. The screws that sit in the cam locks screw into plastic threads instead of just the wood, which helps hold them better. Nice touch. - It's deep. Holds my large 8 quart instant pot. Cons: - Not perfectly level no matter how much I tried but it's close enough. This isn't Ethan Allen furniture. Again, it's cheap. Get over it. You want better? Spend more. Overall a solid buy and we like it. ... show more

  • Acceptable quality, but assembly nightmare due to poorly designed cam locks and inserts
Color: Brown
To answer some others' questions: No, this is certainly not made of solid wood. It is made of particle board with veneers. The boards are more solid than the cheapest shelving kits, but it had better be at this price. Other reviewers are correct that this is not the color shown in the pictures. It is significantly lighter and would not match any furniture similar to the advertised picture. The veneers even vary somewhat in color from one part of the pantry to another. Mine has three slightly different shades. Not horribly ugly, but a bit disappointing at this price. The primary problem is with the cam locks. Before purchasing this, I was glad to see that it had cam locks. I've assembled a lot of furniture with cam locks and all others I've used were great, but these cam locks are very poorly designed and the cam screw inserts are inconsistent. The cam locks do not have a positive lock like every other cam lock I've used. They also are designed to strip at the screwdriver slots, which ads insult to injury when they are not shaped for a positive lock. To get them to securely lock, you have to gently screw in the cam lock screws, then find out that the cam lock will not turn all the way, then take the pieces back apart, loosen the screw a bit, and keep doing this until you find the point where the cam has a somewhat acceptable lock. If you do this, you can get a fair lock without stripping the screwdriver slots of the cam. The cam screw inserts are all a bit different, so you have to experiment with EACH one to get any form of lock. The instructions also tell you to assemble some parts in a much less than optimal order, so I had to find a better order to assemble them in so that the multiple cam lock screw adjustments did not become a multiple day process. Due to the poorly designed cam locks, assembling this in a manner that resulted in a solid pantry took about 8 hours (from opening the box to final assembly with just one person). Other reviewers have said that assembly can be done in 2 hours, but you won't have anything close to positive cam locks in that amount of time. To make assembly work well would only require the manufacturer to spend a few more pennies on cam screw inserts and better cam locks. I've never seen a cam lock system built anywhere near this poorly. I also found that the top and bottom doors are not the same part - at least on my kit. Even though the instructions show them as the same on top and bottom, they are not, and I had to experiment as to which fit on the top and which on the bottom (which ended up opposite of what was depicted in the instructions.) After assembly, it ended up just barely an acceptable pantry for this price, but the assembly method required to make it rugged enough was a nightmare. After this ordeal, I think the next time I need something like this I'll go to an antique shop and look there first like I've done successfully in the past. ... show more

  • Good find. Happy with it.
Color: Brown
We upgraded to a larger pantry twice the size of our previous. We have no pantry space for dry goods so it was much needed.. I was happy with the delivery right to porch. It is a heavy one. Everything came unscathed and packaged well. Assembly was super easy- my 15 year old practically did it by himself. He said it was easy like legos. You do need two people to assemble at one point when you lift the top piece to the bottom piece. We had only one cam lock missing in our parts but it still is sturdy until we can order a replacement. I agree that the color is a skoach lighter than depicted in the photo. The wood is a lovely maple color that looks attractive in my kitchen. I inherited all wood trim throughout my house so it matches with that. The wood seems of better quality than typical of these types of cabinets It has a good weight to it. And the back is not particle board like the last one. It seems sturdy and holds a lot. We put a case of water and bottled drinks in the bottom. Cans next and cereals pasta and rice and snacks in the top. 6 adjustable sections in total makes for a nice storage unit.bits nice and tall so it fits a lot. It is so hard to buy these things sight unseen online but this one was a winner! I love it and highly recommend -the price of $441 with shipping was the best price I could find. It was more expensive on other sites. It seemed like the best value without compromising quality. One nice touch is the feet have plastic disks that make it easy to slide the pantry across the floor to move it and also let you level it. You also can bolt it to the wall for those little climbers. It includes the wall tether. A nice safety feature for those with little ones. ... show more

  • Not great
Color: Brown
Based on other reviews, I knew that the color was going to be different from what was pictured, so that didn’t bother me because I liked the style more than anything else I could find. It is still a nice color. Unfortunately, there are many issues with the veneer. There is a big chunk of it missing from the inside of one of the doors, two small chunks missing on the outside of one of the doors, another on one of the front edges, and some small nicks here and there. I would have stopped the assembly and returned it had I been home. After what was deemed a difficult assembly by three people, the doors do not line up correctly. One of the doors sticks out about a quarter inch farther than the door next to it (the top set of doors) and neither set line up from side to side. If I try to correct one of the doors that doesn’t line up, it comes completely off the hinges. I am giving it three stars mostly because it feels like a solid piece of furniture, I am allowing some room for assembly errors (although I don’t see how), and factoring in that I should have inspected all of the pieces before he got into the assembly. Hopefully the manufacturer will be so kind as to at least send a replacement for the door with the very obvious piece of veneer missing when I contact them. ... show more
