I'm all about getting the best fit for me and best product quality for the lowest price. I didn't hours reading reviews and sifting through Amazon and this is what I ended up with. So SO happy with the purchase!!! Keep in mind, this is not a show piece, fancy Nancy type of rug. This was a $112, 5x7, inexpensive, thick shag area rug and I'm reviewing it accordingly. If I had paid $200+ for this rug I'd be sad but that's not the case here. My pictures show what the rug looked like as soon as I took it out of the bag, rolled it open, and did a quick vacuum of the pile. It laid down nearly flat right off the bat, and by the next morning sat all the way flat. I put a box on each corner overnight, and it was good to go. The pile is thick, and the rug backing doesn't seem to slide around at all which is great because it's in the new nursery. I hate non slip rug mats so I'm glad I won't be needing one. I was able to easily vacuum the rug with a small cordless Dyson, and I would feel comfortable saying that any average modern vacuum would be able to easily vacuum this shag length. I chose the beige and ivory colors and textured pattern to hide regular amounts of dirt and wear, and I think I made the right choice with that. The shag threads aren't "new baby kitten" soft and fluffy by any means, but it IS a soft and fluffy rug with a thick enough pile that my feet won't hate me for rocking a baby back and forth all night pacing the room. No weird "fresh out the bag" smell just smelled like a FedEx truck or warehouse to me. It was really well packaged and wrapped, and very clean. Been unrolled for a day and I can't smell anything now which should say a lot because I'm 7 months pregnant and don't like smelly things. One thing that they should mention in the ad is that the ivory and beige shag threads are ever so slightly a different length from each other (which is wonderful to me but maybe not everyone?). This just gives it a bit more texture. People who are rating this as being a bad quality rug must have been expecting $500 quality out of a $100 rug. ... show more

It is time [Queue: Lion King Voice] No but seriously it was about time that I transformed my childhood bedroom into a true adult living space. Finding a rug that would bring back the light tones of white that I stripped from my walls with green and orange paints (photo included for reference so you can see that that color scheme isn’t as atrocious as it may sound — this was also before my bed frame came in so no judgements please haha). I found that the cream colors of this rug did just that, and paired well with the warmth of the orange tones of the mural I painted. Additionally the texture and pattern in the pile of the rug brought in a new depth that a flush rug just couldn’t have (which is also important because it was being layered over carpet — the rug hasn’t budged either though I attribute that win moreso to the weight of the bed over it). Other notable points would include that it is really soft and plush, though it does come rolled so you may want to weigh down the edges to train it to lay flat again, as well as fluff it up a bit (from time to time too). All in all, it’s a wonderful rug and I really enjoy it. Even my late cat, Riley, enjoyed it… for the few moments before the new mattress arrived at least. ... show more

The durability on this runner is great. We use it walking into main entrance where there is a lot of foot traffic. It is thick "shag" material so if using towards a door you might need to check the clearance. If your door is hung low, it might not drag across this mat. Although its like shag material, there are not issues with the vacuum. The corners curled at the beginning but we set a weight on them for a few days and now they stay down. Fast shipping. Loved that it came days earlier than expected. I think this rug would be amazing in any room other than a nursery. It's true to color and looks great, but feels terrible. I purchased the 6x9 for my 6 months old room. She is learning to walk and is on the floor a lot to play. I was unsure about this rug from reading reviews so I held off ordering it and went to a local brand name store and bought one. The rug I bought locally is thick, soft, plush and very cushioned. It was about $50 more. My LO loved rubbing her feet on it. Lol Unfortunately it doesn't look as good as this rug in her room and doesn't fit as well. This rug is shag but there's nothing else to it. It does have this plastic, synthetic, slick, cheap like feel to it, while feeling rough at the same time. It's thinner than I'd like even with an 1/4in rug pad under it. Had it down for four days now and I'm hoping it gets softer. The chemical smell was slightly less than the other rug (or maybe I've gotten nose blind) and is almost gone. Vacuumed it right out of the package and fell in love with the look just not the feel of it. Will be keeping it because it looks good, maybe with an extra rug pad or two under it. ... show more

The price for the quality of this rug was incredible. The thickness, plushness, durability of this rug is like rugs triple its price. Easy to vacuum. Heavy and thick enough to stay in place. Does not catch in the vacuum like others I’ve had. Slight shedding when I first unrolled it, but after the first vacuum I’ve had little to none. The color is perfect for my room. And the wrinkles were few when unrolled because it was shipped rolled instead of packed. Wrinkles and odor were minimal and gone within a day. I rarely write reviews. But had to for this product. It arrived rolled up and sealed in very thick, clear plastic. It almost immediately laid flat, I just had to roll one end the opposite way it had been rolled during shipping. It had a slight scent, so I filled a bucket with warm water, added laundry detergent, then dumped it on the rug and washed the rug, literally by hand. We rinsed it out with the garden hose, then hung it to air dry. Which made it even fluffier! The backing is flat and hard, there's no cushion. You'll need to buy padding for that. It is such a gorgeous rug. Nicely made, heavy duty, grips pretty good without a no slip mat under it. I purchased two for our camper, the 4'3" x 5'7" and this one, which is 2'7"x5'. I'm still anxiously waiting on the larger one to arrive. ... show more

I had my eye on this rug for about a year. I finally purchased it for my baby's nursery and it's so perfect. It makes the room look lovely. The rug doesn't look cheap. I was worried about vacuuming, but our Shark vacuum goes over it just fine. I did price comparing after seeing this rug listed by a few different retailers and Amazon has had the best price on it by far every time. The ends curled up after it was first unrolled, but it laid flat on its own within a week. It's thick and comfy and perfect for floor play time. It makes the room look more high end! ... show more
