Elegant? You bet. This ergonomic all aluminum drill body, storage case, and drawer speak to ultra fine fit & finish. The surfaces are smooth and curved. The drill body nestles beautifully into the storage tray. The drill bits are clearly labeled and magnetically held in their proper slots. The aluminum tray operates silky smooth: Push in to release and extend the spring loaded storage tray and push gently in to return the to the closed position. Even the directions are clearly printed on quality paper. Oh, let us not forget the double black box packaging. The Rolls Royce of precision, micro drilling? Perhaps. Concerns: A non-variable speed motor. Does the drill motor have sufficient torque and speed to handle thin metal parts? Is it slow enough for plastic and wood? I just don't know. Yes, it's still early days but the torque of the $50.00 drill concerns me. I do not expect the power of bulky Dremel, but for $50.00 I do expect a strong engine. The battery: Typical USB-C charging: Nothing new here. From what I can tell the battery is not replaceable. So, once you reach the point that the battery has exhausted is useful life you just toss this $50.00 tool? I guess. I must admit, I love the feel of this drill. I run an art gallery and most of the time artists forget, or just don't add, the appropriate hanging wire on their work. Then I have to do it and a big drill is sometimes way too much and can cause damage to a canvas or frame. This gadget is so handy and easy to use! Small and light, it's easy to get a screw started in a tight spot and then I can get accomplished what I need to do. I have only used it a couple of times, so I cannot say how long the battery is good for, but, at this point, I find I definitely like the size and ability to drill into a wood canvas frame. I like that the bit sizes are varied as well because not all frames are the same size. I need smaller hanging hooks for smaller pieces and larger ones for larger pieces. I just keep it on the desk and near the charger. Eventually I'm going to need it. For now, the battery is doing fine. ... show more

This thing is perfect for very small projects, I purchased it mainly for my wife so that she doesn't have to drill out holes on some of her beads and other jewelry items by hand. I will use it too for some of my laser wood working projects.

So, working on installing lighting in models and working in very tight spaces, as well as the scale of the models being worked on, I ordered a tradition pin vise and was very frustrated at the manual-ness of it. I looked at several of the cordless options out there and figured I would give this one a shot due to reviews. Was not disappointed. This is SO much easier drilling out pinholes (0.5mm and larger) and even scoring surfaces than the manually operated one. The adjustable speeds and the reverse features also a bonus. It's light-weight and fits nicely in my fingers (and I have small girly hands) and the included lighting at the tip helps me to really see into and focus on the areas I am working in. The ONLY downside - and thus the 4 star rating - is that, as a rechargeable device, it would have been nice to have a cable come with it. I searched everywhere and couldn't find one, but not worried as I have many USB-C charged devices around I can easily plug into. Still...for the price, you would think that a cord would come with it. The media could not be loaded. There is some love to be had here but also a lot of disappointment. For some background, I paint minis and purchased this to assist in that craft. As a hobbyist I'm using this for extremely fine work and consider myself the target audience for this tool. The good, this thing was designed intelligently. The case it comes inside of is pretty neat, it snaps closed and is stored away easily, the design scheme for the case was well thought out. Each of the drill bits is labeled and they snap into magnetic slots inside the case. Also the chuck is effortless, it's quick and painless to switch out the drill bits. It's also pretty easy to use and has several modes you can switch between. Everything about the design tells me that they put a lot of thought into it's engineering. The battery life is serviceable for my needs as I don't ever need to use this thing for more then half an hour. It's also USBC which I'm love with. Most importantly at full to medium charge it has a lot of torque and it doesn't struggle too much with the actual drilling. The bad, this thing has terrible build quality. The plastics chosen feel cheap, like it could snap if it was dropped. Also, this is purely cosmetic but the sticker on the side was misaligned, I only point this out to indicate the overall shoddy construction. You can't use it and charge it at the same time, you may or may not care. The actual drill is a package of electronics and motors that has been friction fit inside of a metal tube, the issue here is that the caps on the end have a tiny bit of hotglue and a clip holds the packaged drill in place; that clip and glue failed within a day of opening the drill and now the drill tries to escape the tube every time I use it, manageable but frustrating. While the chuck is easy and quick, it's also very specific for what it'll accept. I reached out to the manufacturer looking for input on where to purchase longer drill bits but haven't received a response yet. Finally, you can't charge this thing inside of it's case but that's an easy fix since after a few minutes working on the case with the drill and you'll have a hole for the charging cable. Final thoughts, this thing looks great and it's easy to use but it's terrible build quality really holds it back. If this was cheaper I'd be singing it's praises but it's on the more expensive end for what it's offering. I get the impression that the design team and production team sit in different buildings, if they switch manufacturers and improve the quality I'd reconsider my opinion but in the mean time I'm surprised how disappointed I am with such a cleverly designed device. ... show more
