This is the second time I bought this straightener. The first one lasted almost 4 years and worked so well. Only replaced due to it being knocked down and the plastic teeth being broken off. My fiancé uses it on his beard and it gets the hair straight and smooth. It also will straighten my long wavy hair very well. I like being able to adjust the temperature. If the straightener is on, sometimes it smells like something is burning. It could be from hair left on the brush or product, I’m not sure, but for me it is a reminder if I accidentally left it on.

Are you like me and see these guys on Instagram with INCREDIBLY straight beard hairs?? Well, I thought one of these brushes would do that for me, but it did not. It did, however work as advertised. The beard definitely looks much better after using this brush, and combined with Argyle oil, smells great. It’s a great and winning combination, however, do not be misled into thinking you’re going to get Instagram-quality straight beard hair. I’m not sure how those guys are getting their beard hairs so straight, they must be going to the salon for that. Because there’s no way. Maybe it’s genetics, and that works for some guys? Definitely not for me. That’s not the brush’s fault though. This is definitely a high quality item that works as advertised and I am satisfied with. It leaves the beard softer and nicer looking.

At first glance, I thought this Arkam Beard Premium Straightener was way too large. I was sold on it after the first usage. I use it every day now and my full beard never looked better. I turn it on, set the temp to 450*, and wait at least a minute to feel the heat ... brush slowly first the top of the beard, then under the beard. It straightens the beard and keeps it straight until the next day although I usually use a regular brush to touch it up later in the day. Thank you Arkam ... you've got a winner here. EDIT: Jan 31, 2026 ... I am editing my original review from Oct 2024 - 15 months. I now find that this beard straightener only heats up half of the time. I usually plug it in and leave it to heat for between 5-10 minutes. Sometimes it has heated up and will work great to straighten my beard. When I first run it through my beard, it smokes. I know it will help straighten my beard and it will stay like that the entire day. Other times, I place the brush end in my closed hand and not feel any heat at all. Those are the days the brush does nothing to straighten my beard. I'm really sorry to have to write this review because when the the Arkam Beard Straightener is heating correctly, it can't be beat. It is a superior beard brush. Unfortunately, it appears the life of this brush is less that 1 year. Arkam needs to study up on 'QUALITY'.

My beard is the most unruly thing I can grow. Beard oil or balm don't do much to tame it, just makes it soft. Every day is a battle of trying to get it to behave. Then I come across this gem of a device and in less than 5 minutes, my beard is fully tamed! IN LESS THAN 5 MINUTES!!!!! I'm usually battling my beard for at least 10 minutes just to get it looking decent. This brush? Game changer! I've tried another high-end brush from a popular brand in the past. I'll admit I enjoyed it, but it was a wireless one and not only did it take forever for it to heat up to max, it didn't stay at that temp for long and the battery died quick. So I'm glad this one is corded and works faster. The high-end one came with a simple little sheath to bag it after you're done. This one comes with a full hard case. The high-end one cost me over $100. This one was LESS THAN HALF THAT and works way better!! I live in FL, so my beard always gets super frizzy and puffs out in the humid heat no matter what I use to try and tame it. The high-end brush only kept my beard tamed for a few hours before it exploded back into a wild beard all over again. With this brush, not only did the taming last longer, it's the next day, I get out of bed and my beard is STILL MOSTLY TAMED!!!! Coincidentally, we're finally getting another cold front so there's no humidity right now, but on a normal day, I'll find out the real results and update if necessary. To all my viking bretheren out there, don't waste your time with an expensive heated beard brush just because they portray viking aethetics. Go for something that won't break the bank and can outperform the competition by overwhelming margins. IE, this!

I THINK it works well, is my first straightener so nothing to compare it to. I will say for my beard it takes me like 20 minutes of straightening before im happy enough so maybe its just "OK". I got mine in 2022 for my beard. BUT. Once there begins to be some build up burned onto the heat elements from your protective spray/detangler/oils, it is difficult to clean. The issue is the heat elements, or "teeth", are too close together so getting between them with some type of nylon bristle brush to knock of the build up is quite a hassle. To be fair, I have not cleaned mine consistently, maybe every month or 2. if you clean it on a weekly basis yours may last longer without the build up getting too bad but also depends how much product is in your beard when you straighten it. For example at times the beard just isnt cooperating when you straighten it , you think a little oil and balm will do the trick but then it doesnt, so then you go to straighten some more, now theres product getting on the heat elements.... it all adds up and eventually cakes onto the teeth and is burned and has a smell that will just go into your beard if you use it like that. So now im in the market for one that has a bit better spacing in the teeth so cleaning is more efficient.

I have a thick coarse curly wild mans beard and it is always knotted up. Trying to come through it is a never ending challenge that constantly causes me to pull out 50 to 75 hairs every day if I only brush it once and just deal with the wild man look. My beard is constantly getting the knots caught in something . This come easily combed through the knots then the straightener quickly did its job. Now my beard is straight and a come easily goes through it. Before no matter how many times I brushed it it still knotted up. For my first time ever I have a tamed beard . Heat up time is easily within 30 seconds like claimed. I love the nice zip up case it comes in also. My only regrets is that I didn’t get this earlier. You won’t be disappointed, trust me. My beard is way worse than most posted and way worse than the one on the add. The kit looks like great quality. This is a must have.
