I replaced a 49.5 year-old 17-Gal water heater in my park model mobile home with the Ariston 19 Gal. I got a water heater install kit at the local Ace Hardware for the connections. It was a bit of a fit struggle, but it turned out quite well. The water is nice and hot at the 150° setting, and I verified the water temp with a thermometer at 152°. I purchased and Installed this 20 gallon electric hot water as they advertised for POU for Point of use hot water. Currently the price of Natural Gas just increased from 60 cents to 90 cents per CCF. But, my electric bill is price locked for 3/4 cent for the next 6 months and then increases to .80 cents. Currently Electricity cost less than natural gas. So I installed this and followed all the specs. Output from my NG Hot water heater to this POU HW Heater. The literature states that the heater needs about a 4 hour recovery time. I am actually watching a 2 hour recovery time. The water is set at 135 degrees and was delivering almost scalding hot water. For a shower you need about 15 gallons of hot water and the tank which is actually a boiler and stores 19 to 20 gallons of hot water. After a couple days I shut down the Natural Gas Hot Water Heater and am currently using only this Ariston POU 19 Electric Hot Water heater as my only source for Hot Water. Works Great for 2 people. Due to the current Natural Gas Price increase and the not as aggressive Electricity Price increases this item appears to be a great bargain for hot water. Takes about one and half hours to install using copper and copper fitting and sweating the pipes and I installed one shark bite ball valve. Could be installed faster using all Shark Bite. For the wire I installed a 20 amp circuit breaker into the Main and installed a 20 amp extension cord that is under 25 feet. I will probably change the circuit to hot wire. The only issue I had was the internal wiring agent past the screw holding the cover to the element access panel. After I opened the panel and adjusted the water temp. The screw went into the wire insulation when I replaced the cover and shorted the unit and tripped the breaker

I'm very pleased with this, only takes about 20 min. to heat up totally, since it is for my camper Rambler that is stable on my property I did not need propane, and it does not have to be on all the time since I use it periodically.

I purchased this water heater and installed it, after of 8 months it started malfunctioning and after 3 weeks of patiently calling Ariston to help with the issue, they kepr blowing me off even though they claim to have a 2 or 3 year warranty. I would not recommend this heater or brand given their poor customer service. ... show more

Im more than happy with this water heater. More than enough hot water for a good shower. Recovery time from taking a shower is around 15 to 20 mins. Im off grid solar and LiFePo4 batteries, so this works fine. 2 people in the house and 2 can take a shower 15 mins apart no problem. Uses 1450 watts heating the water which is fine. The water heater is on all the time, and well insulated with extra insulation. It rarely comes on to maintain the temp and so i had no need to put it on a timer which was my intention if it ran my batteries down too quickly.
