    • Stops snow being thrown underneath the machine
Together with new paddles, this returns the snow blower to full performance. When this gets worn down the snow starts being fired under the machine. Once this is replaced, if the paddles aren't also replaced then you end up with snow left on the ground that the paddles can't reach. You would think the scraper would get it, but when the snow is a bit crusty the scraper can't get all the way down. So you should get both and replace them together, and replace the belt too. It only takes a couple of minutes. Pretty expensive for a few dollars worth of plastic and bolts, but what's it worth to get rid of all the snow? ... show more

Ordered this replacement "kit" as it is stated in the description. The pic shows the scraper blade and new mounting hardware which does need to be replaced especially after 5 seasons of running the snow blower. I did not receive any hardware so now I have to go to the hardware store and get what I need to mount it. No instructions were included which would have been a bit helpful. I got it sorted out once I figured out how to get the support bracket removed from my old one which had been worn down so far that the support bracket was showing through the bottom of the scraper bar. I had to take a screwdriver and hammer around where it had worn through to break it loose. I would have given it a higher review of value had the hardware been included as shown. ... show more

    • Repaired snow blower.
This is the OEM replacement for my snow blower. It worked great. I gave it two stars for value because it is plastic and they wear out every other year. Ariens is a good company but they could have done a better job designing this.
