This is a fantastic product, very well constructed. Don't buy the cheaper ones - this is well worth the extra $$. It took quite awhile to assemble (I had a friend do that), but the instructions were clear and ALL the parts were there. We didn't have to go buy a bolt or anything. We had a couple questions but Chris at Outdoorplay was wonderful, very knowledgeable and helped us out promptly. So customer service was excellent. I spoke briefly with someone at Malone and they were very nice, but they referred me to Outdoorplay. I just have to learn how to back it up!! This trailer came in six (6) boxes on delivery day! It takes many hours to assemble (approximately 5 1/2 hrs.), but is well worth the time. So easy to load & unload the kayaks! We even plan to store our kayaks upside down on the trailer during off seasons. As we began assembling, we noticed a problem with one tire, we were sent a tire that had only 4 hub holes rather than five. After going onto Amazon and getting nowhere, I contacted Malone (located in Maine) directly and couldn't have asked for better service. They immediately sent out the correct tire & a return shipping label so the four hub tire could be easily returned. Definitely would call Malone directly in the future for anything. ... show more

The trailer went together very easy. However, when mounting the left wheel it wobbled. After removing dust cover, it appeared that the outer bearing was not seating properly. I cleaned the grease off the shaft and found a burr left after threading the axle shaft. Once burr was removed, outer bearing seated properly. Regreased the area and reassembled. ... show more

The Malone MicroSport Trailer that I purchased it really perfect for my kayak hauling needs. In fact, I used the trailer last weekend to pick up a new Mariner 12.5 ft. which I purchased from a dealer 300 miles away from my home. Since my mother lives in that town, I drove down to visit her and to pick up the new kayak. The trailer was simple to handle, and the drive there and back was smooth. When the kayak dealer helped me load up the trailer, he was impressed with the quality of workmanship and materials of the Malone MircroSport. First of all the quality is very good, and what few issues i had, Malone was exceptionally good to work with. I needed a kayak that could handle 15 and 17 foot kayaks....thus it is long. And i wanted to store in the garage. Combining this trailer with the Retractable Tongue got me both of my needs met. The Tongue kit even comes with a pair of rubber feet for the rear of the trailer, so it sits on those feet and not the frame or kayak holders. Very well thought out. ... show more

The trailer was pretty easy to put together. I was worried about building something I would later pull down the road at freeway speeds for hours at a time. I've had it for a few years now and it has held up great. It's nice to take the kayaks on vacation and just leave them on the trailer at the resort/hotel and not be driving around with them on the roof. I carry 2 Dagger Axis 10.5 on the Sea Wings and 1 Dagger Katana 9.5 on its side between them. Overall, I've been very happy with the trailer and its performance. ... show more

I've used it many times since purchase and it's a dream to load especially compaired to loading a roof rack Kayak carrier. The trailer came in a lot of boxes and the parts were clearly marked and separated by use. The assembly directions were a little vague a couple of times, but overall I give them an A-. Much better than average. One hint-if you don't have deep sockets (SAE), GET SOME before starting. It will save you appr two hours of attaching nuts and bolts with pliers and wrenches a quarter turn at a time. Most of the nuts are self-locking and cannot be turned by hand. Deep sockets are a must. I'm a little surprised that the axle is as far back as it is. When loaded, there is no counter-balance and all the weight of the cargo falls on the tongue. A jack is highly recommended. ... show more
