I bought these for my son who had started a new job at Discount Tire. He had never worn work boots before but rather swore by Nikes and other types of shoes that would offer him no protection at all at work. He accepted them "kicking and screaming". Fast forward 10 months and you will find that I have since bought him 3 more pairs of Ariat boots for various occasions (at his request!). He loves their fit, style and comfort and now refuses to wear anything but Ariat. This particular style boot is still his favorite. They keep his feet dry and warm while working in a wet and cold environment. SIZING: as expected. He normally wears a size 13 and that is what I ordered for him. He said they were a little snug in the beginning but they stretched out to be perfect within a couple of days COMFORT: If he could sleep in them as well, he would have. He now thinks these are more comfortable than his beloved Nikes. WATERPROOF: They keep his feet warm and dry even while collecting tires in the snow. SOLES: Provide excellent traction! It's been nearly six years since I bought my these. That's six years of hiking through fields and mud and hills and rocks. That's six months of working in a woodshop with constant spills and scuffs and all manner of wear. I was wearing these boots when I died for two minutes and was rushed to the hospital and thee boots were the only link I had to my old life, sitting beside the hospital bed as I recovered. I can honestly say that I have never had a pair of boots, shoes or anything for my feet that I like as much. I've tried on lots of different boots and have about 5 pairs I currently own. That means I have 4 pairs that I nearly never wear and these. I cannot recommend these boots enough. The color hides dirt. The soles are slip proof and they are also waterproof. They are easy to get on and off, wide enough at the top, roper style toe is as comfortable as sneakers and as light weight as tennis shoes. The protection has saved me many times and I'm only now considering getting a new pair. But it will be a pair exactly the same. ... show more

    • Great boot, use it with suits!

I have always wanted a pair of cowboy boots. I tried on several but none of them really went with my wardrobe. I have to wear suits for my job and I needed a pair of boots that I could wear in the winter. When I found these, I was skeptical given the fact that no other ones I tried really worked for me. These were different. The toe does not narrow down so much that my feet look like little nubs. They are stylish and so far are really waterproof - I stepped in a deep puddle and no moisture inside! I followed the reviews and ordered a half size down. I normally wear a size 11 shoe, but the 10.5 fit perfectly. They are also incredibly comfortable. I have a standing desk at work and stand all day and they did not bother me (I run in minimalist sneakers and the heel rise has not bothered me even when I am standing 8-9 hours a day at my desk). Also, the minimal stitching design at the top of the boot gives them the cowboy feel without going overboard. Would absolutely recommend them to anyone in the market for a waterproof boot! ... show more

This boot fit true to size and is very comfortable. I had wanted a soft toe though and got a composite. With the hassle of returning I decided to deal with it. I think there would obviously be a touch more comfort with a soft toe but can say that they are the most comfortable pair of composites I've owned, I just didn't want that feature. There are a couple of small bend points that will need broken in but I was still able to comfortably wear them the first day over 6 hours with no problems. I obviously can't speak to the heel issues others have commented about but I will say that I bought these knowing that might be a problem. Considering all the other premium additions and the full leather, I thought the price was fair and I'm willing to go to the cobbler for a minor heel repair if needed. Would be nice if I didn't need to make that decision though. One other surprise, these are very slippery on sealed concrete with very little water. Outside they are solid. ... show more

Loved the style but was the wrong described boot, not waterproofed. Second day wearing left boot loop ripped off. Hard getting off and on in cotton socks. Harder off with sweaty feet. Recommend where a polyester sock of some sort. Left boot heel started to squeak after third day. Still loved the style! Hoping to find a durable comfy pair...that fits correctly. I've worn Ariat boots for over 20 years. I've loved them and they've been a great value. I'm hard on my boots and count on them to last. Usually, I can get a year of use out of a pair, if I'm lucky. My last pair lasted me almost 2! But after this last pair, I'm not sure if I can stay loyal to Ariat. I've had this pair for just over a month and the bottom rubber is already deteriorating and chipping off. One of the pull handles has already started to rip, as well. I expect a lot more from a $200+ boot and I've gotten more out of my previous pairs. I can't afford for my boots to start falling apart so quickly, and I have been disappointed by Ariat boots for the first time. Unfortunately, it may be the last pair of their boots I own. ... show more
