  • Love this Cooler
Color: TE 28 QT
Love this cooler. I can put it in the back of my truck and plug it in to the outlet. Cools pretty fast and eliminates the need for ice or ice packs. Good size and great value in my opinion.

  • So far.....So good. This cooler is superb!
Color: TE 28 QT
The purchase of this Igloo Iceless Cooler was one of the most difficult purchasing decisions that I had ever faced. If you are like me, and base your purchases on Amazon reviews, you probably are feeling the same sense of nervousness that I had before finally pressing the purchase button. The Amazon reviews, overall, are not particularly favorable. There are more than a handful of reviews stating that this product is prone to failure, either directly upon receiving or shortly thereafter. Despite the rash of unfavorable reviews, I ultimately decided to purchase this cooler under the terms that if it initially failed, I could return it within the 30 day Amazon refund period. If it failed afterwards....well...I'm screwed like many others were. The cooler arrived in excellent shape. It was double boxed. No damage on the outside. A cigarette lighter power cord is included. Along with this cooler I purchased the Igloo cigarettes to home power converter so I could continue running the cooler in my home or hotel room. I took this cooler on a 7.5 hour trip with me from NJ to Canada over the past week. During that trip, the cooler performed wonderfully. It kept stored items nice and cold. It allowed me to transport a fresh pie over the long course of the journey home. In all, it just about replicated the experience of storing drinks and food in a chest filled with ice (though not quite as chilled) without dealing with water when melted. I put a thermometer inside the chest and found that it kept the inside at a nice, cool temperature of 36 degrees. Mind you, this was while sitting in the hotel room. Supposedly, the cooler inside temperature will be warmer if kept in hotter temperatures. Overall, I am very pleased with this cooler. I am still using it while I am home as a room refrigerator (thanks to the optional home converter plug), and it's doing a great job of keeping my drinks nice and cold. I would estimate this cooler is colder than my own refrigerator. The cooler is light -- even when filled. The fan itself is whisper-quiet. You can't hear it in a running car. In a quiet room, however, it's nearly silent (with just a soft level of noise). No problems with the handle. So, at this point, I am very pleased with this product. My utmost concern is whether it will last. There are many reviews on Amazon and across the Internet (I have read them all) that claim this cooler lasts for years. I hope I am one of the lucky owners who can eventually claim the same. At this point, I can wholeheartedly recommend the purchase of this cooler. • Works well, would recommend
Color: TE 28 QT
Purchased June 2018 Used for 6 weeks of continuous travel including half camping, half staying in airbnb. Pros and Cons Pros: Sturdy, quality materials Keeps enough food, water for 1 person for a few days. Mostly fruit, cheese, bread. Keeps cool to 40 degrees (tested with RV thermometer)assuming outside air is under 80 degrees Keeps cool for a few hours even when not plugged in. Cool air stays in the unit well even when opening to remove items (because cool air travels down not up) Has adaptor for use in hotel rooms with regular electric outlet, was used a lot on my trip After storing the unit for a year I now use it in my bedroom suite for juice, coffee creamer, fruit. I tested and it still cools to 40 degrees reliably Cons: It will struggle to keep cool in hot weather, over 80 degrees, as all other brands of this size would do. However, you should just be aware of that in case you will need to be in very hot weather. Not sure if I would recommend this for using solely for keeping lots of cans of beer/soda extremely cold. I used it for my camping food which worked fine and kept food at a safe temp (I tested it for the desired 40 degrees) Summary: It's a great little unit for the price. I would buy it again and would recommend it. ... show more

  • Works good. But not well thought out
Color: TE 28 QT
I bought this cooler as a supplement to a 12-volt DC freezer for continuous use in my semi tractor-trailer truck. The cooler works as advertised. It fits easily between the seats without a massive footprint. And It cools whatever is in the cooler about 40 degrees colder then the ambient temperature surrounding the cooler. The cooling mechanism in the lid is both a plus and a minus. It's a plus, because cold air tends to sink and it helps to keep the stuff in the cooler nice and chilled. It's also very easy the defrost the heat exchanger when it frost over, (as it does seem to do on a regular basis when fresh produce is in the cooler). Just put a washcloth under the air out vent the catch any moisture that melts off the heat exchanger.. It's a minus though because it makes the lid very heavy, and it does not stay open when you are trying to access the cooler and get stuff out. I worry that the lid slamming down May decrease the life of the cooler Electronics. Also when the lid does SNAP down it snaps down and makes a very tight seal. Which is good 4 temperature control but not so much when you're trying to pry it back open again. I like the polarity sensitive plug so you make sure you plug it into the cooler with the correct orientation. I do not like be cheap plug that goes into the 12 volt DC Outlet. Apparently somebody at Igloo does not understand that these coolers in the trucking industry are used on a continuous non-stop basis. After about 3 weeks of use, the plug literally overheated and stopped working. The red LED indicator would not light and the motor would not turn. However it was pretty easy to rewire a heavier duty continuous use plug in its place. And if past experience with Igloo products is any indication, I fully expect to have long use from this product, , , , , now. In summary four stars because it does what it says it will do in the manner in which it says it will do it, but lose one star because of the crappy 12 volt plug and the lid imbalance. ... show more
