  • It works
Size: Chill Zone XL
The media could not be loaded. It works , blows cool air , put chilled water , cannot ask for more because of the price , works best in a small space In the video , setting is at the lowest fan speed , set it at low to keep the water last longer

  • Be Prepared to Buy a Lot
Size: Chill Zone
My late husband and I had an Arctic Air and it worked as far as it was able to, i.e., it’s a very tiny swamp cooler/fan. It’s not an AC unit however when we used it at night it did help us stay a bit cooler. Now my roommate and I bought 2 of these and life has certainly been interesting. On the first shipment only 1 worked. The company asks you to call them first. Why I have no idea since the only thing they could do is ship a replacement, 7-10 business days from now. Hello!!! It was Friday and the weekend temp on Sunday was scheduled to hit triple digits. And I’m very prone to heat exhaustion. So Amazon said they’d ship to arrive Sunday, which it did. I clearly told Amazon we’d just be returning 1 broken cooler so only needed 1 shipped. Sunday it came and there were 2 new units. I was going to return the second new one but thought about it and decided to keep the extra one so I’d have a second one for my bedroom. Set both up, turned them on and they put out cool air. A few hours later I refilled with water and ice and turned them back on. The second one refused to come back on. Zip, nada. Just sat there. Tried everything I could think of but I guess 3 hours was it’s lifetime. And there are several Arctic Air (some day Chill) but I can’t see a significant amount of difference to understand prices from $29 to $77. Anyway I got a 3 year protection plan so they haven’t seen the last of me yet. But personally I’d get a really good fan and 100# of ice. Put some ice in a big bowl in front of the fan and it see if it cools. I may just do that. ... show more

  • 10/10 RECOMMEND FOR THOSE WHO ARE ALWAYS HOT!
Size: Chill Zone
I am hot all day, every day. One of the major reasons I moved from Florida to Alaska was to escape the heat and humidity. However, with extreme cold (Alaska) comes blazing heat inside most businesses here. My office building has windows that do not open, so I am at the whim of the building manager when it comes to heat. When I come in at 7am, it is 77 or 78 degrees on the floor my office is on. This makes me absolutely miserable. Not much I can do about it, since everyone seems to love it, or at least can tolerate it better than I. I tried using a fan for a while, but it seemed to pull in all of the dust and left me feeling sneezy and dry and having itchy, watery eyes all day long. Plus, I had to turn it off every time I answered the phone (I am a paralegal) because even on the lowest setting, it was too loud and it made it sound as though there was wind in the phone. Then I found this little baby. It could not have been easier to set up. I basically just unboxed it and filled it with water. I love that you can add ice cubes to the water tank (which is a bit on the small side, but I usually only have to add more water once a day during an 8 hour shift, mostly to not let it be dry) and that you can actually freeze the filter (which I have not even done yet, because just using this on the lowest fan setting has been amazing). This is essentially a glorified humidifier, which I thought I would hate (again, I left Florida for a reason), but with the inside heat blasting all day and no relief, my skin, sinuses, and eyes always felt super dry, so the addition of some humid air is actually very nice (I have very curly hair that gets super frizzy in wicked humid air, and I have not experienced any issues while using this machine). There are 3 different fan settings, and I have only used the lowest so far as it has been perfectly sufficient for my purposes in my small office. In addition, there are 2 turbo settings that definitely feel colder than just using the fan, but again, I have not felt the need to use them. You can also change the color of the light that is in the tank, which is a nice feature and would be more useful if this were being used in a bedroom, and although I don't necessarily "need" to use it, I do enjoy having the light on in the tank, which you can toggle between colors, or you can set to rotate through the colors. Again, not necessary, but a fine feature. Overall, for $40, I am incredibly pleased. I am the type of person that just gets irrationally angry and cranky when it is too hot (for reference, even at -20 in Anchorage, I never have the heat in my apartment above 70) and I hate the stuffy feeling in my office where I am stuck all day long. This has been an absolute lifesaver, for more reasons than one, so if you're on the fence or don't think it will work for your needs, it absolutely will and you will thank yourself later for buying it! ... show more

  • Excellent, small yet powerful personal AC cooler. A carry on handle would be nice.
Size: Chill Zone XL
Update after 2 weeks: After being sparingly used for 2 weeks, one of the three micro fans stopped working, and returning to get a new one. The cooling impact is good. It sounds a bit more than other products I have, but that's not a big deal. My other unit does not have oscillation, and that is a big plus for this product. I just used it in my office instead of AC for the entire floor. It has Good Cooling effects and saves money from running AC for the entire floor. Handle to carry around for this light unit would make the product complete. Surprised to see no easy way to carry this everywhere. That is a shame on the designer. Otherwise, all good ( at least for now ). It is better to go with 2 year warranty when you buy. Enjoy and beat the summer!! ... show more

  • Glorified small space humidifier
Size: Chill Zone XL
I purchased the XL model. It lowers the temperature by about 5 degrees but it's only in the immediate area. With that said, it functions well to provide extra humidity in my 15x10 bedroom. It does cool your space for 16 hours. It automatically shuts off after 16 hours. If it isn't on turbo it's useless, and I get 4 hours of use before having to refill it. You can probably get 6 hours running it on low, but again, it doesn't really do anything if it isn't on turbo with the maximum humidity setting. Overall, limited applications but it definitely works within the confines of what I've described. Specific to Amazon: I bought it "like new" for $30, but it was clearly well-used. The turbo jets were clogged and I wasn't excited about figuring out how to unclog them just to use it. Not a huge deal, but buyer beware with just about anything on Amazon. A q-tip dipped in rubbing alcohol will fix it, which I need to do every couple weeks after extended use. ... show more
