I used it twice in combination with my ARB awning and slept in it one night with wind gusts and rain. To set up the awning you need two people, but this tent you can do alone. Its an easy slide-in at the car side, as well at the outside, and clip on on the two other sides. If you hate setting up a normal tent, you will love setting up this product. The light strip is just an easy connection with your car 12V cigarette plug, or with a portable battery. The cable that comes with it is long enough. The space inside is great. I am 6ft2 and cannot look over the roof of my SUV, which means I can stand up straight in this tent. And 3x me could lie in it on a mattress. During day time you can zip open all sides and you will be protected by mosquito nets. At night you can leave some open to get air in or close it all off and be perfectly protected against the elements. I had big wind gusts in North Texas with rain, and the tent kept up and everything on the inside was dry next morning. You need to be aware that due to the square shape and due to different car sizes it is mounted to, the set-up is not necessarily as tight as with a normal tent, also not when using the tent pegs and guy lines. This results in more flapping noise from the sides than you would have with a normal tent, especially with wind gusts. That is the only disadvantage I could think of sofar.

Very Impressed!

I took our ARB awning and awning room on its maiden voyage this past weekend. Took my son on a mother/child campout where we would be tent camping for two nights and they let me use my new tent. I wanted to give it a go for a trial run, before we went off on a big camping trip. I was very impressed with the quality and quick setup of this tent with the help of two rowdy boys. I bought a patio rug to lay down on the floor, worked perfect! We only used one cot, but there is definitely room for two. Would easily sleep four people. The mosquitos were horrible this weekend and the mesh did an awesome job keeping the bugs out. This is exactly why we bought this tent. We did have to sleep with the outer windows open because it was still pretty warm in LA for camping. But I do believe it would hold in the heat during the winter months with or without a heater. It held up great in the wind after staking it down. I was actually worried it was going to launch a few times, but it took the wind like a champ. We thought that it was going to rain, part of me wanted to see how the windows would hold up in the rain. It sure would've got hot quick if we had to zip up the outside windows. I'm worried about water coming down the space between the Jeep and the awning. But it never rained, so didn't have the chance to test it out. Thinking I will have to bring a tarp to throw over that space in case of storms. Overall, I was very impressed and so were the other parents! I can't wait to take it on our next adventure!

Great product but read before buying...

I'm giving this five stars for quality and engineering. I do however want to point out a few things you might not of thought about. It performs as advertised. It's well constructed and the ARB engineers have thought of everything. Possible cons. It's super easy to put up but a real pain to get back in the bag. Don't put it back in wet or mildew will set in. Consider if your awning is mounted higher than the room is tall. It's not a deal killer but I can see where I've time it will cause issues at the floor/wall seams closest to the vehicle. This also requires a bit of adjustment to get everything to zip up. Moisture loves to set in between the room and the awning but I've yet to have any inside the awning. The best way to clean this thing and to let it air out is to simply set it up and do so. Would I buy it again? In a heartbeat. I need a roof top tent on my Suburban like I need a hole in my head. I set this up at festivals to give me a living room /bedroom sort of thing.

Great for additional "living space"

Great addition to our ARB awning on our teardrop camper! Adds a nice amount of additional enclosed room for staying out of the elements. We got it because we had a camping trip coming up that the weather forecast drastically changed and the temps went from mid 80's to upper 90's/low 100's. We figured we could have this, leave the door open on the camper with the A/C blasting on high and be able to deal with the heat better. It works well for that, not as cool as the camper gets closed up but much more bearable than just sitting under the canopy! With the ability to either zip open the side panels to provide a screened in room or leave them down to give a weatheproof shelter it is a very versatile addition to our little camper. It's for sure nice to be able to have a place to sit bug free and covered. Now for the bad, first and foremost there were no instructions included. Now I know its a pretty simple thing but it took some trial and error that I'm sure could have been avoided with a set of instructions. There seems to be some tiny holes in the sides of the canopy. They aren't big enough to cause leaks or anything but when you buy a new something you expect it to be free of all but necessary holes. The rain flaps covering the zippers keep getting zipped into the zipper itself when we are zipping or unzipping them from inside or if you don't use a finger to keep the flap held away. An improvement that I would love to see is some way to make it "seal" against the side of the camper to help with keeping the bugs out at night. Using magnets would work if the camper was metal sided but our camper is fiberglass sided. Just a couple improvements and this is easily a 5 star revue.

Good spacious room

Great Room - good size - plenty of windows to provide breeze. Used mine for the first time two weeks ago in Baking hot temps in Three Forks Montana and couldn’t have been happier and given it was my first time camping I was impressed by how easy it was to attach to the ARB Awning, set it up and how well it works with it. We had some minor windy conditions one night that had some retracting their 180 degree awnings…but mine was well anchored and reinforced with the room additional securing - appreciate the long anchoring pegs - and it did ok with the windows full closed. I like that it has the netting that keeps the bugs out as well when the windows are open and that it allows you to use the light on the ARB Awning as well through the clear perspex sheet on the top side directly below the Awning Lighting Strip . Also loved that although you attach it to the Awning frame work it is it completely encapsulated so once you close the windows it will keep the elements out. Just note that like any canvas it will flap about quite a bit…it didn’t bother me given the conditions but it might be something to consider

Fits my ARB awning well but there are a lot of missed opportunities.

The awning room is a decent addition to the ARB 2500x2500mm awning we have on our small trailer. It fits well and should protect us from the elements and to a lesser extent, insects. Construction of the room is good, with no apparent defects in the fabric or stitching. The polyethylene floor is quite thick and should hold up to a fair bit of use. I'm not entirely sure if instructions should have been included with the room but my package had none. That said, the box had considerable damage and the paperwork may have been lost. Not during transit mind you, the ARB box was damaged, not the Amazon box which covered it so the damage was done before it was shipped to us. Even without instructions, setup is pretty straight forward. Attach the room to the awning frame, then clip out the top of the sides, zip up the top of the end, then clip the corners to the awning legs and peg it out. My biggest issue with the room is that they've installed a zippered attachment for securing one end of room to the awning frame but the other end has to be slid in and out of the awning mount each time it is used. This effectively makes mounting the room to the awning a two person job and certainly increases the setup time. A second issue is that I have an awning with the integrated LED lighting which is now obscured by the awning room. A simple mesh or clear vinyl sleeve on the roof of the room would have mitigated this. Lastly, the included pegs are sturdy but a just simple wire pegs. I'll be replacing them with something that has more holding power (such as the MSR Cyclone 10" stakes).
