The kit came earlier that initially estimated. Good set of instructions for installation and the initial set up. It took two of us 3-4 hours to complete install since water needed to be rerouted some, there was no outlet nearby, so some electrical work as well. Initial flush and bringing it up and running once powered takes another two hours (mainly waiting for it to do it's thing). Looks good and works well so far. ... show more

We never owned a water softener before. This unit seemed very reasonably priced. They supply extra small O rings so don't accidentally double them up. BIG SHOUT OUT to their technical support team. We called them at 5:37 p.m. on Friday and they not only answered the phone they stayed on the line with us till our unit was up and running. Turns out you have to open a hard plastic screen cover on the display before you can push the buttons. Hope the unit is half as reliable as the companies employees. ... show more

I bought this softener to replace an all in one Morton M30 softener that worked fine, but I wanted something with larger capacity. My city water is very hard (>20GPG) and this unit is rated for 50000 grains (20000 grains more than the Morton). Installation was straightforward, and I configured it to run a regeneration interval based on 3100 gallons used, using the calculations in the manual based on my very hard water. At first the water was great and soft. However, after a while hard water spots were appearing on faucets, shower doors, and on my glassware out of the dishwasher. The water softener still had plenty of gallons of capacity left according to the display. I reconfigured the softener down to 2500 gallons and forced a regeneration. Now, on this new cycle I still have 500 gallons left in the cycle and the water at the tap is getting hard again. I will have to reconfigure the softener to regenerate every 2000 gallons, which is less than the setting of the previous much smaller Morton. I should have just stuck with that one. This one definitely isn't delivering on the claimed capacity. ... show more

Installation was straightforward and simple. You have to ensure you get the right groove when attaching the bypass to prevent leakage, but the issue is very prominent and easy to identify. The materials used are very durable and well-constructed.
