Convenient, effective, to the best of my knowledge it's accurate, you have the option of f° or c°. Side note: I am testing it underneath substrate as well. So it has more then one purpose. I normally use a regular glass thermometer but I needed a second one and thought I'd give this a try. I am so pleased with it! It is so much more convenient than the glass one, which is always floating around somewhere bc the suction cup sucks. This is so easy to read and allows me to check the temp whenever I walk by (my house temp fluctuates a lot so I have to keep watch). It has been accurate so far, and has a decimal point more than the reg thermometer, which I didn't think was necessary but now I really appreciate. The readout is a little dim but I think a new battery might help that, we shall see. The suction cups are very rubbery and stick well. The probe is nice and long. Works well. Accurate when compared to another thermometer. Hard to turn the knob to adjust temp, but it wont accidentally get turned too high or too low by mistake at least. I just used a needle nose pliers to adjust it then left it. Seems accurate enough, but temp gauge is off. Just figured that setting it to 74 actually gives me a 77. ... show more

This thermometer is super small and can attach to the outside of your tank while the probe is long enough to reach down into the middle of your tank for the best temperature reading. There is a suction cup for both the thermometer and the probe to hold them in place. The thermometer readout is digital and is fairly easy to read, however the screen is not backlit so you do need some light to read it. It is accurate within 1 or 2 degrees of other thermometers, but stays steady. I do worry about the battery usage as it does not automatically dim or turn the screen off; you either have the screen on all the time or have to turn the thermometer on and off each time you want to look at the tank temperature. Ultimately, it is a good quality & easy to read tank thermometer, offered at a very reasonable price, that should hold up over time with only battery longevity to worry about. ... show more

I purchased one of these in 2018, it finally broke in 2025, which was my fault anyways because the screen part was submerged in water. I immediately purchased another one because it has been so loyal to me throughout the years! Also a great price. Very easy to use and easy to set up!

Stopped working after one use, only reads Lo like battery is dead. Replaced battery same reading, it no longer works properly. This was after a few mins of use. Cheap is cheap for a reason generally that means cheap junk and that's what I got.

This aquarium thermometer is accurate. I set the heater at 82 and used the thermometer to check if the water was really 82 on the other side of the 30 gallon tank. It was. So I felt confident about the accuracy of the little thermometer. It was easy to use as well. Just stick it on the outside of the aquarium and put the wire in the water. There’s a suction cup to keep it in place but its suction is not good so it doesn’t stay on. It doesn’t really matter though because the end metal thing is still submerged in the water where it needed to be even without the suction cup. ... show more
