This comes with options to have hook (to be used OVER the top of the tank wall, or suction cups. I like the suction cups best because I could attach them to the inside of the tank, right under the rim. This allows to scoot the glass back just enough to not pinch my plants, but enough to prevent my mystery snails from exploring their way out of the tank. I got this to root pothos in for our 55 gallon axolotl tank. Axolotl tend to dig up live plants so I thought this would be a good option to root some pothos cuttings in and let them dangle out of the tank. Like the description for this products states, it does not fit on a rimmed tank with the included adapters. I tried the largest size and it still didn't quite fit over the black trim. That's okay, because I knew that from the description and it came with suction cups as well. The black hooks were very snug and a little difficult to slide in, but once I got them going they fit well and then were easy to remove as I'm not going to use them. The product is as described and will work for my use. I think the price is a little high and I wish it included hooks that work on a rimmed tank. That's the only reason I didn't give five stars. ... show more

Conceptually this is great. A larger planted box for plants is needed in the aquarium hobby. The design is pretty good, but just had a couple issues for me. First, I have an aquarium with a standard lid. The lid has a removable plastic part in the back for heaters/air pumps/etc. If the plant stand was just a little more narrow (as in like 0.25-0.125" smaller) it would fit in this perfectly. The other minor issue is it's a little deep. I get it for the roots, but it's hard to rest the plant on anything when it's as deep as it is. It would be nice if it either wasn't as deep or had a wide mesh or something to rest the shorter plants on ... show more

I was hoping that for the price these would be a little bit nicer, but at the end of the day they are just plastic with some connectors to attach to your tank. The clip/hook style attachments don't slide in well at all and take a bit of force to get to fit, but once they're on, they're on. I already have them in clipped to my tank, with some fresh cuttings in leca substrate. They do look really nice and sleek against my black tank background. Overall, I do like them. ... show more

Great for "garding" the roots of pothos in a Cichlid tank. Cichlids are know to eat vegitation if given the opertunity. This keeps them from getting the entire plant while still allowing the pothos to grow and suck nitrates from the water.
