This is a top quality product! After having used a very heavy 16mil tarp for camping, this thing is a godsend. It is very light, durable and keeps the water out. We bought this primarily to have as a shade screen and to keep our picnic table dry for camping (car camping that is) and it works perfectly. There are very secure nylon webbing tabs all around the perimeter and one in the center. There are no grommets to tear out. It also comes with these very nice nylon straps that are "Y"-shaped with a buckle in the center and several good stakes. This allows two points to secure a single tab. With all the nylon tabs and straps, this tarp can be set up in a multitude of configurations. With some paracord for a ridgeline or two and some Prusik knots from #36 tarred twine I've had this set up beautifully several times now. ... show more

Awesome, spent 10 days under it, rain, dew heavy winds, worked great. 13x10 was good for two adults, two kids and a dog. Was a little tight when it was really raining, but worked fine. It drys very quick, and its light weight. The straps are nearly useless, ok for the ground side, but not long enough for much else. ... show more

On a overnight hike in Tennessee in April, had expected rain to taper off, had expected temperatures in the 40's. Well it didn't turn out as planned. On the 5 mile hike into the campsite we had snow and sleet. We were sure to have wet wood at the site and just nasty conditions. We quickly strung up this tarp at the site put a couple of chairs under it and started a small fire on a flat rock under the tarp. Once the fire got going we picked up the rock and moved it a few feet away, by then it didn't matter how wet the wood was. If we didn't have this tarp the trip would have been a total loss, we would have been in our tents trying desperately to stay warm. You could make do with a $15 tarp from your local hardware store, but you wouldn't get as much use out of it. This tarp is light, it is thin, but incredibly durable, the tie out points are sturdy and the placement of them give you a multitude of options for configurations. I honestly can't believe the reviews that state that this tarp is "waterproof". I just got back from a Search and Rescue training mission where I was VERY WET sleeping under this tarp in an all-night downpour. It leaked like a sieve. Like a leaky sieve. Honestly, this tarp is awful.

This tarp is amazing. It will withstand a LOT. I had mine out throughout the winter to block some wind and trap in some of my heat while smoking (I know I know, I need to quit.) It stood up to a lot. I experienced zero leaks. The tie offs are all extremely well sewn and made to stand up to a LOT. Unfortunately there must have been a pin hole where the sewing machine missed the seam, along the seam line. My tarp developed a tear right where that pinhole must have been, along the seam. I feared I would have issues with the 2 year warranty against defects. I have had such issues with other companies before who have similar warranties. First of all, I had a response from the company within the day I sent my email. After a very simple confirmation of defect process that was taking a picture to show the damage, they sent me a new tarp, which arrived already. The turn around time was less than a week from contact, to having a new tarp in my hands. I couldn't ask for a better experience with a tarp or with a company's customer service experience. Aqua quest stands behind their products and they are absolutely worth the money. I will not hesitate to continue to purchase their products. ... show more

Tarp is great. Lightweight and strong. The Straps are terrible and break very easily. Pair tarp with paracord instead of cheap straps with low quality clips.
