Features

  • AI Facial, Pet and Gesture Recognition: Ready to experience a better smart home? Imagine your camera can recognize your face and welcome you when you come home or recognize strangers and send out notifications to warn you. You can also trigger pre-set actions with five different gestures, which is a new and unique feature that is not available in similar products of other brands.
  • 2K 1296p Resolution & 360 Viewing Angle: The Camera Hub G3 incorporates a high-resolution 2304 x 1296 pixel sensor that results in better image quality with more details.* In HomeKit Secure Video mode, the camera records in Full HD 1080p due to the current limitations of HomeKit technology. 110 wide-angle lens coupled with the Pan and Tilt motors provides up to 340 rotation angle, supports automatic cruising, and face and pet recognition. No more Blind Areas in your home.
  • Local Control Center: As a Zigbee 3.0 hub, it can connect up to 128 Aqara Zigbee child-devices and allow for seamless integration across Aqaras sensors and home automation devices such as home guard, data reporting and smart control. Alexa, HomeKit, Google Assistant, IFTTT are supported. (Note: The IR function is not currently supported by HomeKit. Instead, you can try using Aqara Home or Google Home, as well as triggering the Aqara Home scenes via Siri Shortcuts or other voice assistants.)
  • Local Infrared Control & 2.4/5 GHz Wi-Fi: The Camera Hub G3 has a built-in IR controller that can make your existing infrared-compatible devices smart and support local automations. All the IR automations are local and will run even if there is no internet connection. Moreover, no more worrying about network type compatibility: the Camera Hub G3 supports 2.4/5 GHz Wi-Fi, the most popular Wi-Fi frequencies, and uses them to connect your Aqara child devices to the network.

  • Didn’t work well but was replaced for free and now I love it!
I received this hub however I couldn’t use it as the camera because it didn’t record the audio well.I contacted aqara explaining the issue and they sent me replacement which works amazing and I really love it. It’s silent. It doesn’t disturb my dog and it records video and really well have a lot of security features and the AI inside so I love it and strongly recommend ... show more

  • Unknown face detection trigger does not work meaning can't be used for security
It partially works. Face detection does work and trigger but unknown face does not so for security it's useless. 1. Unknown face detection trigger won't work 2. No chat support or phone support only email. Upgraded to 4 stars as they offered a replacement or refund since it appears to be an app issue. BTW I got support faster here at Amazon than I did at the site itself so if you do have an issue contact the seller directly here from Amazon. As long as you do not require unknown face and just person detection this will do it for half the price as Eufy since you have to buy the home base to do the same thing as what this can do. Also Eufy does not have unknown face at all either this one did and hopefully in a future app update they will fix it now that they are aware it's detecting unknown face as person detection instead. ... show more

  • Buy this
EDIT: Lol I immediately purchased a 3rd camera after I wrote the previous review…..annnd of course the third one DID NOT work right out of the box. I think this has something to do with Apple and not the camera itself but I’m not quite certain. Basically it dropped out while pairing, and HomeKit decided it wasn’t going to let me add it after resetting it. It kept saying the device was already added. After talking with Apple it was determined that it could potentially be a faulty unit and not truly resetting to factory settings, so I returned. Other 2 cams are still working great off my HomePod Mini***This could also have something to do with the 3rd camera since I’m just running a mini…will update once I get 3rd and have time to set up. TLDR; If you have an AppleTV/Homepod/Ipad already (required to work with HomeKit without anything else) and you’re looking for a HomeKit camera without 3rd party apps; do yourself a favor and just click buy now. This simply works. This is the third camera I’ve landed on and it is absolutely the best by far and large. I initially started with eufy, because it was, well, cheap. I ended up having to download a third party app, then jump through what felt like countless additional hoops, and ultimately ended returning because it was the opposite of seamless, and knowing I would need additional cameras, it was not a process I wanted to repeat. After the eufy experience, I decided I’d give Blink a try and skip Homekit altogether because the third party app experience was so terrible with eufy, I figured why not give our guys and gals at amazon a shot. Also, because it was cheap. This experience was notably better at first. App was easy enough. First camera connected quickly. Second and third camera however we’re a different story…I started running into an error were the app was swearing up and down that I was entering my wi-fi password incorrectly. However, It was showing me the password I entered so I know that it was accurate. Long story short, 15 power cycles and camera resets later, ended up not being able to hook up the last camera, returned, which brings us to this cute little camera here. Now, the reason I mention these previous experiences is because it is critical in understanding exactly why this camera is worth every single penny. Aqara’s arrived, I unboxed, plugged in, hit the + icon in Homekit, scanned QR code, and it worked. That simple. Nothing else required. It simply worked. The entire process took me maybe 5 minutes for both cameras. In comparison, the previous 2 experiences mentioned were both 30+ minutes with negative results. The camera quality is great. Very sturdy and well built. Do yourself a favor and stop looking and buy this. It’s worth it, and it even comes with adorable little ears on the camera…common now, what more could you want? ... show more

  • Breach of Privacy
Purchased two of these for the sole purpose of having on my kitchen counters to play a loud noise if my new cats got on the counter. Several problems. Many false alarms. Some of them occurred because the setting to stop the pan and swivel of the camera kept turning itself back on. So I would point the camera at the top of the counter, and then the camera would ignore the "no panning" setting, then pan and see the dog or cat on the floor and the alarm would go off. Sometimes it would just be a false alarm detecting a person instead of a pet. However, BY FAR, the biggest issue was privacy. I purposely purchased a camera that would store video to a private SD because this was going to be in my kitchen. I did not want videos of me in my bathrobe in the cloud. Set the cameras up recording to SD and a day later it says "10 more days left of your free cloud trial." So without my permission or knowledge there I was in my pajamas on the cloud. I spent several days trying to express my outrage and to get this fixed. The support team had no real idea how the app worked; they did not understand that the free trial overwrote any other settings. I returned the two cameras, but more important for me is that I won't be buying Aqara again. This was a major breach of privacy, and they really don't get that. I wouldn't trust them on my home network again. ... show more

  • Indoor camera, integrated with HomeKit, works like a charm!
I could set it up in a breeze in my living room. Integrated with Apple HomeKit super fast. Video looks very clear, even when lights go off. It has allowed me to let people in and out of the house while I am away, for service and cleaning, and having the peace of mind of being able to monitor the house while I am away. It is able to detect motion of people, pets and faces. It is very small and can be placed anywhere. I feel I have got a good bang for the buck invested here. ... show more
