  • Good quality e-bike at a reasonable cost
Style: 14in Folding A1
This bike is good quality product. and fun to ride. The bike works well and very easy to assemble. The range is normal and got a good mileage on full battery. The bike folds up small enough to fit in the trunk of any car which is very convenient. The bike is a great value great and quality it’s very durable for on road and off road speed is perfect. The brakes works well. ... show more

  • Does what it says
Style: 14in Folding A1
First electric bike and after 1 test run, everything seems overall okay. Nothing bad enough to return it for. Each individual part and the bike overall is good. Installation was straight forward and simple. Can use it with the battery or without which is a big plus and rides fairly decently (for 20'' tires) without the battery. The folding function works as stated. I haven't used the backseat yet. Using the bike without pedaling, all electric, for a while and was fairly comfortable. The bike is low to the ground so I feel like it could be used by even kids or the elderly. The biggest strength of the bike is it's convenience. The battery is easy to put in and take out, the seat can be pushed up without blocking the battery when taking it out, the bike could be folded with 3 or 4 folds, and even the pedals can be folded which always irritated me for my mountain bike. There's even a handle so you can lift the bike under the seat since the frame has a folding feature in the middle instead of a solid frame. Lights and electric bell function well. Only a few complaints but no deal breakers. The bike is fairly heavily, i think it said 60 pounds, so it is a hassle even taking it up a couple of stairs. The steering handle could use more resistance when turning which would make going in high speeds more comfortable but it isn’t major. Also, the power levels in the bike is a bit hard to tell from the monitor but just might need to get used to it. Do not regret buying this, was a bit worried in the beginning because it only had 100ish reviews but it turned out okay. Everything was basically what I expected from the description but pleasantly surprised by how seamlessly it functions. ... show more

  • Decent e-bike, though a little different than what's on the product page
Style: 14in Folding A1
Overall, I'm liking this e-bike! I was initially inclined to return it as the e-bike I received was different than shown on the product page. First off it lacked the front disc brake, which seemed like it could be a problem with stopping. And secondly, the power spec for the motor, per the manual (see attached pic), is 350w peak power meaning it's only a ~250w motor or about half or so of what the product page indicated (500w). And the on/off was changed from a key to a mere push button that anyone can turn on when parked. But the seller was responsive, and we were able to reach an accommodation that I was satisfied with that didn't require me to return it. So, I finished unpacking it and did the initial setup now that I was to keep it. Once I finished putting the e-bike together and tested it out, I found the single brake in the rear was not going to be a problem. I mean you're not going motorcycle speeds, just bicycle speeds (<20mph) which a properly adjusted rear brake is more than adequate for. Where I live there are legal limits on the power and speed of e-bikes based on their class. This e-bike falls into Class 2 and to use it on the street I needed to add a sticker showing class/power/speed to meet local e-bike labeling laws. While the motor is NOT 500w, I had ordered the sticker based on the listed product specs so I would have it when the e-bike arrived and decided to use the 500w sticker anyways (see attached pic, Class 2/500W/20MPH). I'm getting similar performance out of this e-bike as on an electric stand-up scooter I also own (an ASKGO K11), which has a 500w motor. Need to note that the scooter has been speed limited to 20mph to comply with local laws where I live. With the speed unlocked the scooter can actually do 31mph, so I'm basing my observations on the speed locked mode limiting the scooter to 20mph, FWIW. I should also note that the battery pack on the scooter is 48v 15Ah, while this e-bike has a 48v 12Ah pack. They have similar mileage (with throttle only) and similar speeds in the various "gears" (both are 3 speeds), even with the difference in the battery pack capacity. And I typically get speeds of ~20mph in 1st gear, ~15mph in 2nd gear and ~9mph in 3rd gear on both, though the speeds drop by ~2mph or so as the battery goes down. And I get ~14mph when pedaling in PAS mode on the e-bike, which seems to work independently of what gear you are in. I'm getting a range of ~10 miles at full throttle in the highest gear and ~15 miles when I run in the middle gear, which is decent distance for this price range, and is well suited to where I live - which is at the edge of town. FWIW, I'm 5'9" and ~200lbs, your weight will have a big effect on the ranges you'll be getting. When using PAS, I would imagine I could get even further though haven't really tested the PAS mode range yet. And I rarely use the lowest gear as it's pretty slow, so no real information on that. But it's conceivable you could get ~20 miles or so based on the ranges I'm seeing in the other gears. I may try this some day. With this e-bike I get the advantages that I bought it for, namely the ability to fold it down to fit in my car and the option to use PAS for extended range and for some exercise while riding. I have run out of battery on the scooter before and having to foot-kick it to get home was a real pain, so am glad for the pedals on the e-bike!! As the e-bike readout is pretty basic with only a multi-segment battery indicator, I added a simple GPS speedometer that shows trip information and has an odometer. Also added a rear-view mirror, a water bottle holder, an AirTag holder and a phone holder (see pics). I've since changed out the water bottle holder and added a much brighter bicycle headlight that mounts on the handlebars as there are very few streetlights where I live, being somewhat rural and fairly dark at night. I went with a VANSPARK CL1200 Rechargeable Bike Light ASIN: B0DZ24QKK8, which performs fairly well. But I feel the onboard headlight included on the e-bike would be adequate in urban areas with plenty of streetlights in most cases, it's pretty bright with decent coverage. There was a problem with the seat sliding down when riding so had to replace the seat post shim. I went with a Thinvik Bike Seat Post Shim in size 31.8 to 34.9mm ASIN: B09XV86WP7 which has grooves on both the outside and the inside areas of the shim and grips the seat post firmly, so it doesn't move anymore. Note that I had to do this on the scooter as well, since they both came with plastic seat post shims that simply didn't work well. I plan to add a bag to the back of the e-bike for storage and to carry items that's similar to the one I added to the scooter, a Favoto Bike Bag ASIN: B0D9NS2FZ6 (see pic below of the bag on the scooter). It's a pretty nice one with lots of storage and has fold-out saddle bags in the side compartments for carrying even more if needed. And if I get a chance, I want to add turn signals as well, but that's a future project for sure. ... show more

  • Do not buy, badly made (cheap metal)
Style: 14in Folding A1
They go bad within months, I bought my first one a year ago, because I was going to use it to move around college, it didn't let 2 weeks and the pedals were already falling apart, they are built of really cheap metal. The plastic pedals just fell, then I had to go off road to not hit a curve because the breaks failed on me, the wheel bent, so I bought another one thinking that it was just a defective bike, this one I had the same problem, the seat broke within a week and the metal pedal bent again (after 2 months, so it is uselles now eventhougheverythingelsenis good), the tube is also really fragile so even a pice of gravel can puncture it, I have changed more than a dozen tubes within 2 months. ... show more

  • Great Starter E-Bike for Teens – Solid Value for the Price!
Style: 14in Folding A1
I bought this APYEAR e-bike for my 12-year-old son as a first electric bike to see how he handles riding with a motor before upgrading to something more expensive. For the price, it’s absolutely worth it—no risk at all. It’s a bit heavy for his size, but that’s expected since it’s built for adults. I swapped the pedals for foldable aluminum ones (also from Amazon), and it rides even smoother now. The throttle is sensitive, so it takes off quickly—definitely something to get used to. But overall, it’s a great entry-level e-bike for kids or teens under supervision. Sturdy, fun, and a solid way to build confidence before investing more. ... show more
