I purchased a new 2021 Toyota Tacoma SR5. The dealer wanted $900 to put on some simple round bar steps and a local place wanted $700. So I took a chance and it paid off. They arrived well secured and undamaged in a very sturdy double thick cardboad box about 7' tall and a foot wide, strapped and taped secure. Once opened, they were also well protected by cushioning and the individual parts to assemble were taped down so they wouldn't slide around. They were pretty easy to assemble. Goes faster with a socket drill. The steps have to be attached to the bars so be sure to screw those in on the two outside facing screws first before tightening up any of the T-bolts from the underside. Otherwise you'll have to loosen them and do it all over - this was not mentioned in the directions I received and would definitely help future buyers. There are three very strong steel brackets for each side of the truck. They screw into pre-threaded holes that exist on the Tacoma's underside. Very easy. Tighten nice and tight but dont max it out. The rails with the steps then set on top of the brackets and screw in. Pretty straight forward. Took me about two hours with no rush, just listening to my 70s tunes out in the garage and getting after the kids for walking on my grass, and enjoyed a pepsi the whole times - so all in all an enjoyable Sunday afternoon for everyone (but the kids hahah). Once completed they held my weight fine (i'm 240 lbs) and my wife who is just 5'-4" LOVES them, makes it much easier for her to hop in. And my dad who is in his 80s will love them to. And Even though I'm 6'-1", they really help me out getting in the seat - I can just put my right foot up and just ease right in, then push of them with my left. Gets me under the low steering wheel a lot easier then without them. They're made of a very thick aluminum and and the brackets of steel. All hardware appears to be steel as well. Welds were well done. Didn't see any crack or poor work on them. BTW, the iArmor logo is cut into the rails, see thru style. They include a red decal that can be placed behind the opening to make the logo pop, but I didn't use it - i like the clean look better. What i like about these: strong, very wide steps and deep enough my size 12 shoe fits easily on it with no issue. Plus, stub wall is solid so you foot won't slip thru if there happens to be ice on the step or you misjudge it. But I doubt if ice will ever by a problems as there are several nice sized drain slots in the steps, plus grip. These make my new Tacoma look like a tank or like the Battlestar Galactica - strong, visually pleasing, and very functional. Not like those wimpy little 3" round bar steps at the dealership. I highly recommend these steps and hope they will last a long time. And if not, at the price, I'll just buy them again.

I bought this 2 years ago and let it sit in the box until a few days ago. I have a 2020 Toyota Tacoma. I’m 41 years old single momma and I put these 2 steel pocket steps up by myself on one side and then the other side I let my 13 year old son help me out because he doesn’t have a father figure and I always get him involved in things so he can learn. If I can do it, you can too. The instructions were easy to follow and it’s not that heavy to put up.

These side steps are well made, easy to install and very sturdy. They fit perfect on my 2023 Toyota SR5 4x4. The 4-inch drop places the step in the ideal position for entering and exiting the vehicle. Their design also prevents you from kicking the side of the truck when entering the vehicle. The step is large and in comfortable to use. Installation is straight forward, and the instructions provided are easy to understand. The only change I would make to the installation instructions is to loosely place the mount brackets on the vehicle first to give you a support to place the sidestep on. After the sidestep is in place tighten all the mount nuts and bolts. Do not overtighten, the product uses nut certs which are good and support an easy installation, but they can be stripped out easily if you over tighten the bolts. The Toyota Tacoma comes predrilled from the factory for the installable of side steps. Total install time with a flat tip screwdriver and 12mm socket was about 40 minutes. Definitely recommend.

Needed to replace old plastidipped flat side boards on a lifted 2015 Tacoma I recently bought. Turns out it is quite expensive to remove a lift kit so I really needed step-type running boards. Most negative reviews seemed to focus on having to attach steps prior to installing. My husband had installed boards on my Highlander and felt these would be fine. First complaint is that the shipping notice indicated someone would have to be at home to sign for delivery. This was not indicated anywhere in the item description. I figured the package would be returned to vendor as there was no way I could make such arrangements. However, they were delivered without signed receipt. (Sigh of relief) My husband came home early the next day so we could install them. Adding the steps to the bars, no problem. Attaching brackets to truck, no problem. Attaching bars to brackets…BIG PROBLEM! There are these T-bolts with plastic washers that are IMPOSSIBLE to attach to the bars! After nearly pitching the whole kit by the road, looked at some online videos where others recommended attaching the brackets to the bars first, then attaching whole unit to the truck. This is a bit of a struggle as we had to employ a floor jack and one of us holding one end while the other got everything lined up and bolted into place. One of the t-bolts broke off during install, and there are NO extra bolts included. At that point, we just went on. It was too much trouble to take it all apart to return…and scratched in a few places as well as a few scratches on the truck. I suppose that’s what touch up paint is for. Aesthetically, these look much better than the ‘plast-I-dipped’ flat boards that we replaced. They do give me a couple of inches in being able to get in the truck. The designers of these should really come up with a better process. Given my time back, I likely would not order these.

We were looking for a step for a 2010 Toyota Tacoma four-door pickup and came across this model. The two most attractive features were the fact it is a step and not a running board and that it also has slots in the metal to help prevent ice buildup in the winter. We have a neighbor who is a mechanic and he was impressed with the quality of the material and workmanship. It took him about an hour and a half to install both steps. The installed steps extend about two inched out from the body but are still within the width of the truck's mirrors. The most convincing comment we noticed when we were shopping this product was a reviewer who commented on the quality of the packaging. They were right. This product ships in a very sturdy cardboard box. The accessories are separately boxed and securely fastened inside the shipping carton. Nothing slides around. The seller (iArmorAutoShop) takes pride in its product to make sure it ships securely. We would recommend this retailer to anyone needed a pickup step.
