We had the AprilAire dehumidifier model 1830 in our basement crawlspace for almost 8 years and was great until it expired. We purchase the AprilAire model EO70 dehumidifier to replace it. After 20plus years of using portable dehumidifiers of every major brand,and disappointed with every one.Warranties have also dropper from 3-5 years to one.The last unit lasted only 4 months before 5growing E3 error and in process of getting unit replaced.Started to research professional units and found this Aprilaire 70.Very good reviews and good price.Had 2 companies give estimates and both used Aprilaire 7units,best it’s USAMade and 5 yea4 warranty.Installation straight forward and didn’t take much time.Do recommend using the 8 inch flex duct used 25 foot cut in half.Make sure u have a drain and electrical power.Unit quiet and keeps large crawl space/basement at 55%RH and is off most of the time.Absolutely love this unit,wish I would have found earlier-thank u for fabulous product. ... show more

I had a couple of crawlspace companies provide quotes for installing a dehumidifier under my home. I researched both brands that they were recommending and felt that AprilAire was superior. I like the LED display and the fact that it remembers its setting after a power outage. I ordered the unit from Amazon because the companies were charging over twice the unit cost if they were to provide it. Installation was quite simple. The only (minor) thing I would recommend to AprilAire is that they make the shipping bracket easier to remove. I found that the slots in it were difficult to remove from the grill cover. ... show more

    • Quiet and efficient at its job!
The item came packed well so that there was no damage. Got it set in position with the risers at the legs. Ran my drain hose from the unit to my sub pump well. Plugged it in , adjusted the humidity level I wanted, and then let it do its thing. Started out it was 90% humidity. In two days time it was 53%. Now we see how long it lasts. I feel real good with this brand and believe it will last a number of years. It was not real heavy but weighed enough that I placed it on a plastic lid and slid it into place. ... show more

Easy DIY install. Quiet and perfect for the space. Customer service was able to make a recommendation for a separate humidistat, allowing me to duct it into the finished basement. I was not a fan of the reviews of the hanging kit, but for about $30 and an hour of work, I created a suspended shelf to get it off the floor. The DIY installation saved me about $1,900 off the local dealer's installation of the same unit and specs. 10/10! ... show more
