After owning an Apple iPad 2 for more than 10 years I recently upgraded to Apple’s iPad 9. I was on my 3rd Apple Smart Cover when the iPad 2 was retired. Naturally enough with 10 years satisfactory use, I would not be without an Apple Smart Cover for my new iPad 9. Amazon promptly provided a new cover with a small discount under Apple’s price and it rapidly arrived in perfect order. The fit is perfect and the “magic” on/off feature when opening and closing the cover is still astounding to a Luddite like me. When folded open the cover acts as a perfect angle rest to utilize the iPad. The new Smart Cover is all one piece, and dispenses with the fabric like top covering of the old ones, thus I expect it to last longer and remain presentable without wear. All in all another great product from Apple. Highly recommend. This is a May, 2025, update to my review. After two (2) years of daily use the cover still looks like new with no stains, fingerprints or darkening visible. Any spots or stains are easily removed with a damp tissue or finger. Great cover.

This Smart Cover is a gorgeous color as I got the lavender. The price is a bit much but with Apple products you know you will always get quality. I originally purchased a complete folio by another brand but my screen protector always got bubbles from it because it lifted the tips of the iPad; so I decided on a front cover only and the only manufacturer that makes just a front for a iPad 9th Generation is Apple. I love all my Apple products!

So glad this cover is still available for my 2017 iPad Pro 10.5”. Only downside is no back cover for extra protection which is why only 4 stars review. Don’t know why Apple couldn’t design this similar to the old iPad Air cover which fully encases the device. My iPad does stay super cool in this cover which it didn’t in other brand cases with plastic backing. Love that this cover was specifically designed to work with Apple iPads. The various cover positions for propping up the iPad work well and are very stable without suddenly collapsing which the non Apple brand cases tend to do.

I like this cover, but I was expecting a full case for the price. It only covers the front of the iPad and has a magnetic side to hold it on. It is a quality product and I am using it. I’m sure o didn’t read the description or I would have known this. But I 5 star like it anyway!

Have had this cover for 3 months. It is covered in mildew spots. I live in humid Alabama and it did get sprinkled on a bit two days before seeing this damage. The picture is after cleaning with stain spray, bleach, oxygen bleach and alcohol. It was already showing significant wear/ staining from normal use prior to the mildew issue. The interior faux suede surface is a dirt magnet. Be warned, since I missed this- you have a one month return window for Amazon on this. After contacting Apple customer service, they don’t warranty ‘physical damage.’ I can’t recommend this even though the functionality has been flawless. Why is it so expensive if they won’t make it right when there is an issue?
