  • Great truck addition
Very well made, strong tubing fully adjustable fits any truck. Installed it on a 2014 ram 1500 single cab and it looks awesome. Havent used it yet but im sure its goingvto pay for itself. Cant beat the price, it was more expensive to have one built from square tubing. I will do another review in a few months to let u guys know how its holding up. I have to admit the wind noise is terrible. Thats about the only thing i didnt like. ... show more

  • The Elevate Rack review
Fairly easy to assemble to assemble even though the directions were a little vague in some spots. Its very sturdy and solid I weigh 345 pounds and am able to use the rear of the rack as a handle to get in and out of the bed and it does not move. I installed this on my 2003 Toyota Tundra extended cab 4x4 and it fits perfectly in with very minimal adjustments needing to be done. I still have the same amount space as I did before outside of what the bars take up but I can still carry about 12 to 14 bales of hay. It also looks amazing on my truck. ... show more

  • Very Functional
This was an excellent value for the price. Yes, it’s ugly. Yes, as others have said, it will rust in some places, so expect to need to paint it if you care about looks. However, the functionality and weight capacity at this price isn’t even close to anything else. It’s large and solid as a rock. There are some squeaks as you drive over rough surfaces, but not bad. It just barely fit onto the 5’ bed of my Colorado and it’s sits fairly high off the cab - but that keeps wind noise way down. It’s barely noticeable at 70 mph. I did have to get creative bolting it to the rail b/c of the way my Colorado bed rail is constructed. Basically, I have one J hook installed regularly on each bracket, then I (carefully) drilled a hole in each bracket so that I could position the j hook into the stake holders at each corner of my bed. I had to remove the plastic rail caps to position the J hooks closest to the cab and drill a hole in the cap for the bolt to poke through, but I was able to avoid drilling or cutting any body metal in my bed. ... show more

  • How it mounts on the bed rails needed some creative thinking. (redneck engineering)
Just as advertised. It was the least expensive in this type, so I did not expect a construction, job ready lumber rack. I think it will do just fine now that I am retired and just need to haul an odd piece now and then. The bad, The packaging could have been better, several parts were worn to bare metal. No an issue for me as in a month it will have more of those. Everything went together fine. Instructions were good enough. The angle iron mounts that go on the bed were a problem. The clamps they sent, I could only use one per mount. They fir under the lip of the bed rail. Where they had to go there was no "under the bed rail" because of inside bed supports. I was able to run a long bolt from under the truck, thru the stake pocket and out the hole I drilled in the mount. I added a wood filler in the pocket with a hole in the center for a bit more support. But only on the back ones. The ones near the cab I added a tight fitting wood plug and used a lag screw. Each mount had one of the clamp bolts that would just barely work. I also have a cross mount tool box that goes over the front mounts and it will help hold the mount in place. I spent more time coming up with some way to mount to the bed than anything else. I assembled on the ground, left the bolts loose, Bolted the mounts on the bed, then got a friend to help lift it up and bolt to the mounts. 2 of us were busy, 3 would be better,, 4 would be easy. I will have to be careful how I load the rack, as some of the bolts will hit whatever you are carrying. Framing lumber is no problem, but grandma's antique bed frame could get scratched all to hell if you are not carful. Rather than bolts it round headed carriage bolts were used this would not be as much of a problem. I wish the bolts were black like the frame, not glow in the dark shiny, gold plated like they sent. having bitched about all that, It feels solid, I think it will work for what I need, looks very well built. The welds look like welds, not pigeon poo samples, everything fit. Well almost everything. One of the end got egg shaped in shipping and I had "round "it out so the other piece would slide in. Again, a packaging issue. I could not buy the raw steel to make a rack for what this cost. It is not expensive, appears durable, and does what I need. I would buy again. Wow! after having it on a few days I went out on the highway. A low moan starts at 50mph, by 65mph it sounds like a wolf with blue balls is on my roof. Serious wind noise. I think it is the front cross member. I have a 2010 Chevy crew cab 1500. Rather than take it off and try to return it, I think I will play with adding some sort of wind foil on the front or replace the round tube with a square. Maybe a hood bug screen will change the air flow. ... show more

  • Excellent product
I loved it! It fit my truck perfectly. What I liked most was that I found it for a lower price than anywhere else, and it arrived super fast and in great condition—without a single scratch

  • You get what you pay for
If I could give no star review I would. Everything about this rack is garbage. This thing scratches if you even look at it wrong, and it will rust within days of installing, even where it isn't scratched. Got home from work one day and the side of my truck was covered in rust drips from driving in the rain one day. Installing the upper portion the tubes did not line up properly even after putting the square plate on holding it together so it is not 100% straight. On top of all that was the wind noise. I have had racks on trucks for the past 15 years so I expected some noise but this thing is absolutely unbearable once you hit about 55mph. By far the worst ladder rack I have owned by a mile. Save yourself the aggravation and spend the money on something of quality because this is not it. Took a while getting around to installing this so I'm well outside return window, but as soon as my new racks come in this one will be cut up and brought to the scrap yard where it belongs. ... show more

  • Great as a stand-alone rack or as the founddation of a specialty conversion!
So, I needed a specialty platform to mount solar panels on the truck. When I came across this LADDER TRUCK RACK, OVER-CAB, 800 LB.CAP., I had to purchase this! It fits the 2018 Dadge Ram 1500 5'7" bed very nicely. In case you're wondering, I'm building a cover to keep the other solar charging equipment, dry. I welded am optional 3" strip down the middle of the rack, and tabs on the outboard bars as a means to mount the solar panels. Even though the included instructions do not mention it, he tube walls are thick and stout and can be welded on easily. This rack is very sturdy The large mounting bases gives you the option to use the included "J" bolts or fasten to the pickup bed permanently by using the pre-drilled holes. This ELEVATE OUTDOOR rack works good as a stand-alone or as the base for your next project... Highly recommended! ... show more

  • If not for the price it would get 2 stars :(
The Titan truck rack is sold through many different names and people on Amazon and at Norther Tool. It looked to me a very similar rack to the kargo master at 1/2 the price and in my mind i thought that how much different can a truck rack be from another if they look the same.....Big Mistake! The Titan came in packaging that was so beat up you could see half the contents of the boxes. The truck rack finish was messed up from knocking into itself in transit and the paint was a flat black to begin with. Upon setting it all out and getting the directions out, i decided to put all the bolts washers and nuts together before starting the build. IT TOOK AN HOUR! You see, in the pictures of all the different assemblies they did not show the different sizes of washers, so you have to basically put them together a few times finally using logic to correct your mistakes. They do not number the individual parts, they number the bolt, washer, nut as one piece! And they number different ones, the same number. Frustrating. Another funny thing is that the rear bar that goes in back is now made up of 3 different pieces instead of 1 piece with the brackets welded on....now they are making it with 2 separate brackets and the bar. That is not shown....really? It just tells me that they have re-engineered this unit but did not want to spend them money to print a new manual. Also, the manuals pictures do not go with the words in the directions. In all reality, if you are pretty handy, take your time, do not let it get you frustrated you will be fine, it just irritates a person to have to go through all this bull when they could just have an American 3rd grader make the manual and it would be more professional. Assembly, Fit and Finish: By the time you get this together, if you have not laid it on packing blankets or bed spreads or grass, it will be scratched up more. The finish is pretty tough in appearance, but not in real life. The bolts and washers are all of fairly poor quality, not grade 5 and certainly not grade 8. What is odd is that they basically make the frame to be tightened by clamping down on metal tabs and then it bends as you tighten the nuts and bolts. Pretty cheesey. The welds are poor and I wonder if they even did this in a jig. The different sides are quite different and all in all the whole unit is of poor quality. Final Thoughts:I almost went to American Van and bought their in house truck rack. I had one before and it was of great quality, but it was $125 more and after buying this new truck and spending so much on accessories it thought i could scrimp a little. My local vendor wanted $1200 to sell and install a Kargo master. Ridiculous. So what i am really saying here is that you get what you pay for, and I paid for a cheap chinese made rack...and that is what i got. Will it work? Yes. Was it appropriate in strength for my needs? Yes, I just haul pipe and ladders as a plumbing ?. Was I really disappointed with this quality? Somewhat. However if you need a rack at a cheap price it will work. Nuff Said ... show more
