This pergola has a sturdy metal frame and a retractable fabric canopy. It took me a couple of hours to assemble on my own, but once it was set up, I was really pleased with it. The canopy is super easy to use—you can slide it open or closed whenever you need shade. It even held up well against strong winds without being anchored to the concrete, though it's definitely recommended to secure it to the ground. It’s a great value buy, looks good and no issues with delivery & assembly (all parts were there and instructions were fine). It is a very light frame though and not the most sturdy, hence 4 starts. Overall, good buy for the price and it will do the job for few seasons.

The pergola came with all the pieces needed for assembly which was a process but well worth it. It really made the backyard look and feel different with a very chill vibe. We pulled an extension cord and hung some lights with a water spraying fan and it felt like we were on vacation. It only took grandson and friend 2hrs. 30 min. To put together and set up. The shade top doesn’t stay in place. . If least bit of wind I have to pull together and put bungee cords around. It’s attractive , but all cheap material. Guess you get what you pay for. So wish I’d gotten one with heavier steel. ... show more
