Excellent Home Monitoring Cameras...On Board SD & App monitoring OR optional Premium Cloud services

These are by far the best solar security cameras I have invested in. I bought this set to try out to help decide if I want to get rid of the costly subscription ones I currently use. These offer the option for a cloud subscription and some extra features if you choose to go that route BUT also you can utilize the app and an onboard 128GB SD card on each individual unit which is accessible by the app that the units are viewed through. (SD card is NOT included) Generally when the SD card is full I simply remove it and delete all the files using my laptop. (You can delete them without removing the SD card but you can only delete ONE file at a time - unless you go with the premium cloud service) The premium cloud service give you "facial recognition" software access that can identify anyone that is stored in database that has been collected and identified. -- These cameras were extremely easy to connect to my network using the app. (AOSU App in app store) There are no wires to be connected other than the one that travels from the solar panel to the camera itself. Mounting them isn't difficult as there are several mounts you can find on Amazon for them or you can make your own depending on what you are trying to accomplish for varying locations. These have the ability to pick up 360 degree areas BUT this is only if the movement occurs in the 180 degree area that is the home position of the unit. Meaning, if the home position of 180 degree area picks up movement it will follow that items movement in a complete 360 degree rotation IF you have the camera positioned where it hangs down with no blockage on any sides. What would be great is if the camera had motion sensor on both the front and back side of the camera with ability to "see" in both directions to pick up and follow motion from any direction the camera is approached. In addition if you have the camera mounted a bit high up it also will pivot downward and back upward automatically to follow movement. The cameras are very clear and the quality of the pictures are good enough to recognize faces of individuals clearly. The sound quality is good as well but as with all outdoor cameras it does pick up some background noise as well. I am still tweaking mine so I most likely will readjust how they are mounted to get the full 360 degree camera scan area -- the unit as a side mount but would really be great if it had a top mount option to have the camera hanging so to speak for the full rotation option to be more efficient. -- Another GREAT option I like is that these work with Alexa so when sitting at my desk working I can ask Alexa to show me the camera and scan the pan area and it appears right in front of me on the Alexa screen. Activating the Alexa skill worked easily with the app setup for the units. -- You can set the app for your preferences to send text notifications of movement so that you can check even when you are away from home. I was able to remotely check to see if packages had been delivered to my front stoop from work for example just after the delivery person had put them there by way of the text alert. When it gets dark the cameras work just as well and have lights that can make visibility almost as if it were day light....clear. I have had these up for a while now and the power levels on the batteries have not ever gotten below 96% which varies due to the sunlight. (it only decreased this small amount when there were several days of stormy weather and the sun was fully covered) -- One of the features I don't like is that when you access the camera using Alexa or the app remotely it makes a continuous sound which in effect can alert someone they are being watched. (I would prefer to have the option to turn this off when desired) -- I do like that the cameras are capable of sounding an alarm to scare off thieves if needed and also the ability to speak two way if necessary. -- Overall these are great cameras and eliminate the dreadful monthly fees if you wish to self monitor your property. Definitely replacing the rest of my old cameras with at least 4 more of these. -- BTW the manufacturer supplies information on how to contact them for any assistance you may need in set up or if you have any problems which is hard to find these days with sell and profit with no desire to back products with most manufacturers.

UPDATE: -------------------------------------- After 2 days, discovered I'm only able to check live video or check events on storage card 80% of the time. The other 20%, I get an error to "check network connection." But the app itself reports the strongest possible wifi signal. So what network? Need to contact support. ORIGINAL REVIEW: -------------------------- I'm not a security cam aficionado, but I've tried about 6 so far (mostly indoor, 2 outdoor) and this is my favorite. As a midterm renter, I wanted battery operated solar power, so I could install without drilling. And I required automatic motion/human tracking, like my indoor cameras. I didn't want a camera I could only move with the app. (Wack. It's 2023.) While I wanted to pay max $50, not $90, I saw that the solar powered ones always cost like 2x as much. And this one has unique features I didn't see in the lower price range, like: * Labels motion events (and their video clips) as Passing, Staying, etc... so you know immediately which events to give attention. * Can record up to 60s at a time. Most other cams recorded 20 or 30s max. * WON'T record ALL 60s if the motion stops after a few seconds. My last indoor cam fave recorded 20s every single time, even if a car passed by in 2s. Love how this one conserves your storage space AND your time. * App has many customizations to help conserve battery life, reduce notifications, etc. Ex: You can set "Intelligent" alerts, where you turn off, say, Passing alerts, and only get Alarm Events and Staying alerts. * The notifications in your phone drop down show a still shot of the event! Again, so you can decide if it's worth your attention. * Phone notification "pop-ups" also say the type of motion, like "detected a person lingering." I love this so much! * Ladies: Your mic, when speaking thru the cam, has a "man tone." My BF says it sounds a bit like the voice in those anonymous witness protection interviews (lol), and it *does* sound slightly suss, but not suspicious enough that a stranger on your porch (or wherever) would necessarily be able to tell you're actually female. Great for those of us who may live alone. Video is CLEAR. Even better, two-way speaker and mic are LOUD. I had problems with a cheaper indoor brand with shoddy audio. I got concerned when, once again, the Android app got like a 3.6 rating. But it's been very responsive for me. CONS: * This won't register motion events thru glass. Tried testing it in the front window format before going thru the hassle of mounting. No dice. * You can't flip the picture like on some cameras. During the front window test, video in the app was upside down. ;} TIPS: It was too hard to find a solar cam that worked on 5Ghz wifi, so I just got a low cost 2.5Ghz wifi extender and only put the camera on it. I also mounted this with Tombow mounting putty on stucco, and it's holding strong! I tried wrenching the camera base down and it's NOT moving. It's only been a couple hours yet tho, and I'll be reinforcing it with zip ties. It gets HOT and HUMID here, and unsure I trust the 2lb camera with only putty for months. Happy mounting, friends. I'll update in a few weeks or months as I use it more. For now... I'm EXCITED.

Great Inexpensive Cams with lots of Features

UPDATE: Sunday, Sept 15, 2024, we received the replacement camera very quickly (within a couple days) and I finally had a chance to mount it. It works great! I'm really happy with it. Because of that and the great customer service, I feel I can now justify giving a full 5 stars. Great job Aosu! I gave the product 4 stars because I bought two cams and one cam just won't behave on the network. However, customer service is great, troubleshooting went quickly, and a replacement is on the way. That said, the cameras were easy to set up and configure. The app is intuitive. It can seem a bit daunting when you first get into it because there are so many features, but once you start, you discover it is logically laid out making it easy to find the setting you need. The cams indeed have a lot of great features and truly great picture quality (4K is really sharp). The ability to alert when detecting movement and to track humans is really spot on. It really seems like they intelligently know the difference between moving shadows and real people. I haven't had a false alert yet. When I watch the live feeds, I can see moving shadows of a nearby tree, but that doesn't set off an alert. Howver, when someone is detected, it alerts immediately. I even have time to ask them questions (built in mics and speakers offer two-way communication, which is awesome)! The solar panels also keep these cams running 24-7 with zero issues. The only issue with the cam that is "defective", is that I can't get it to stay connected to the network. It connected fine when set up and connects easily when reset or just handled a bit (taking it off the mount and putting it back), but it simply won't stay connected. When it is connected and the signal strength is checked, it always shows 100%. We even swapped locations with the other good cam (which never loses connection) and it still fails to stay connected. That's how we determined it was the cam and not the location causing the issue. But, again, service is great and they're making it right. Please note that for the short durations we get it connected, it looks fantastic and functions as expected. I trust the replacement will be just as good as my other cam. Overall, I'm truly happy with these cams and with the service. I would purchase again.

Steer Well Clear!

These things are terrible. I bought 5 of them about 18 months ago and, since then, all but one have failed in different ways. Two of them have battery issues. I can charge them to full during the day, then they die about 2 hours after sunset because the batteries don't hold charge. One will connect to the wifi but refuses to show any images, just saying "Video play failed, try again", and finally, another has gotten stuck facing the wrong directon and will not budge. If I move it back by hand, reset the default view etc, it still automatically puts itself back facing the wrong direction! I have tried everything, hard resets, removing and re-adding cameras etc. I have a WiFi 6 mesh with hundreds of smart devices on it that all work fine, so it isn't the network. Also, I added 64GB SD cards to each camera and NONE of them record correctly. Sometimes a few of them work, sometimes the show an event but won't play it, most of the time they never even record the event to the SD card, despite sending a notificiation about it to my phone. We actually had an incident that my backdoor camera "recorded", the police were called, but the recording refused to play or download. Really, really poor... Finally, if you lose internet, even if they are on the same network as your phone, you cannot access them at all. It goes without saying the app is also terrible. Slow to load, the cameras are incredibly laggy (if you are lucky enough to get access to them at all), and there are spelling mistakes and gramattical errors all over the app. You also get bombarded by adverts for their paid cloud service each time you use it. The only positives are the picture quality is OK, even at night, and the sound quality is kind of bad but usable, I guess. They look nice too, if that matters. Yes, they are cheap, but you get what you pay for, well, not even that in this case to be honest, because they are almost all broken now. At a failure rate of 80% in less than 2 years, the cost of replacing these things will add up way faster than spending a bit more on a quality camera to start with. Steer well clear.

Very High-Quality And Useful Security Cameras

We have four (4) of Aosu's Security Cameras (mounted on all 4 sides of our home), and they all work flawlessly. I can monitor all 4 cameras at the same time on their App on my cell phone. However, I do not need to monitor constantly because I get notified if there is any motion on my property. I adjusted the setting in the App so that I do not get many false positives, such as leaves blowing around in the yard. They do have higher sensitivity levels that detect any movement at all if you wanted that option, but I do not like to be notified unless something important is actually happening. Aosu has innovative ways to ensure you only get notified if there is a human walking around. You will get notified if anyone in your family is walking around outside, but you cannot expect any way to avoid that. I normally only check notifications when I do not expect them, such as when we are away from home. You have the option to shine a bright spotlight at intruders from these cameras as well in order to scare someone away. When Amazon makes a delivery, we get notified, so it comes in handy for that purpose as well. We can also avoid any Porch-Thieves from stealing our boxes that Amazon delivers. These security cameras allow me to speak to any intruders, and warn them we are watching, although that has never actually happened. I have utilized these cameras to communicate with family members who are doing some work outside, so they do have that extra beneficial feature as well. You could also use them to watch your kid’s activities outside if you wanted to. We like the Solar Panels because we have never had to take any of these security cameras down from their mounts to charge them back up. We have had these 4 cameras for a year now, and even the cameras that do not get direct sunlight still get charged just by the fact that it is daytime…no direct sunlight is required! These solar panels are very efficient at using daylight to charge, and the batteries are very efficient to hold that charge indefinitely. We have had them installed for all four (4) seasons, and even during the Winter, we have never needed to charge them back up, and we live in the cloudy Northeast, where we get very little sunlight that time of year. Customer service is top-notch as well. We had an issue with one camera that stopped moving left-right, and they shipped out a replacement to us immediately. Aosu has different options for security cameras, so we purchased two (2) of each. Two (2) of our cameras have a base station where the video and audio is recorded and saved for later if needed. The other two cameras have internal SD Cards that we installed so that the video and audio are saved on the SD Cards when needed. The cameras with SD cards actually follow anyone who is walking around on our property. They have 360-degree monitoring, and they follow any movement on your property. Good value camera

I’ve had this camera for around a month and am very happy with it. It serves my needs and makes me feel quite safe and comfortable in my home. It was very easy to set up. I especially like that I don’t need an annual plan, events are saved to an SD card.
