EDIT: The next day I found a small zip lock bag with this other piece and instructions!!! Now that it is put together correctly, it works pretty well!!!! Make sure you use the correct order!! It should be really stable! I made a lot of mistakes on this one, some were my fault so I didn't return it. Dimmable and different color modes are not the same thing. I am using it for the bedside and it is very bright, not what I had in mind. The different modes are hard to distinguish and you have to cycle through on/off/on/off to find the one you want EACH TIME YOU TURN IT ON. There are threads on the outside that appear to be to attach the shade. However it just sits on the ledge of the socket and does not tighten down. That leaves the shade wobbly. (Make sure you turn the shade with the wire attachment on the bottom and not the top.) I modified by cutting a portion of the packing form to hold it a bit more steady. (Am I missing something here?) Should have been simple but instructions would have been nice.. Getting the base out of the shade after unpacking was a small challenge. Otherwise, it gives nice light, looks well beside the bed and does not tip when pulling the chain. ... show more

I got this lamp for my desk at college. I got the black lamp shade with the black base and it provides the perfect amount of lighting for my space. I was a little worried the black color would block light from coming through, but it doesn’t. To cycle between the 3 colors you have to turn it on and off. The base is sturdy enough, so that if you bump it, it won’t fall over. I think this lamp is so cute, small, aesthetic and good for its price. This lamp is so cute! It was easy to put together and looks great on my desk at work. I would have given it 5 stars, but in order to change the bulb color temperature you have to pull the cord to turn the light off and then turn it on again. The light is a different color each time you turn in on. You have to pull the cord about 5 or 6 times to get back to one color. Hopefully the pull mechanism is made well, because it will get a lot of use. ... show more
