  • Great value for a beginner printer
Size: Anycubic Kobra 2 Neo
This is my 6th FDM printer in the past few 5 or 6 years. I wanted something to print things while my CR-10 is printing big stuff, so bed size was not as important as price and speed. I will no longer use a printer that does not have: 1. Direct drive extruder 2. Magnetic build plate Well, the Neo 2 has both. Standard. Assembly was so easy. Half of the steps of an Ender-3 and only 7 bolts for the entire thing because everything was pre-assembled. An 8 year old with lego experience could assemble this guy in 20 minutes or less. Note - the wire harness has one plug that is not used, the instructions conveniently leave that out of the manual (they don't tell you to put it anywhere, its just ... there). The menu on the control module leave a bit to be desired, as it is entirely ison-based. Still, responsive and adequate. The prints are fast and the quality is awesome. Tested against my CR-10 it prints about 2-3x factor set at 150 mm/sec. Self leveling means I can set it and forget it - I don't have to play the "watch to see if I need to tweak X-axis by 0.99mm or not" game. It is quiet. Although not as quiet as an Ender with the quiet motherboard, its between that and an unmodified Ender - so thats nice. It does everything I wanted it to do, at a sub $200 pricepoint. It probably lacks the support community the Ender-3 has garnered and it likely will not have as many modifications available, with a magentic build plate, self-leveling, and direct drive extruder I cant think of anything I'd add right away, anyhow. ... show more

  • Incredible first time printer buy.
Size: Anycubic Kobra 2
So I got this for my husband for valentines day, so I'll let him write the review: This printer is a FANTASTIC first time user printer. The print quality I'd give a 4/5 instead of a 5/5 simply because the extruder struggles to maintain a smooth surface even with a lower layer height. It's nothing that a little sanding doesn't fix, but it's something to mention. Here are my thoughts on it: It's extremely easy to use, just follow the instructions for setup. It struggles with low quality prints, so make sure the models you get are of decent quality. If you find that you're getting gaps or that it's peeling up from the plate with PLA, change the filament settings in the anycubic software (separate download) to increase the bed temperature to 60C degrees instead of 40C degrees, and slow the print speed down from 150mm/s to 100mm/s. It also prints more consistently at that speed, I've noticed. It doesn't take up much space at all, but make sure that you place it on a VERY sturdy desk/tabletop. My desk wobbles ever so slightly and the kinetic motion of the print head, especially in short strokes, makes it wobble a bit, which could affect your prints. This unit has tons of adjustments and even modifications and addons. My unit came without a PEI plate (The bed plate), but customer service promptly mailed me one, so that's a +1 point for customer service. They also have a dedicated tech support portal if you have any other issues. For a sub $250 printer, this is an EXCELLENT value if you're just getting into 3D printing. I'm looking forward to making some cool stuff with it! ... show more

  • Amazing Starter 3d printer.
Size: Anycubic Kobra 2 Neo
Bought for Christmas. I have printed several items. Super easy to set up and level. Does almost everything for you. Had to adjust it just a bit to make sure it was completely zeroed. Software it comes with works very well for premade prints, drag drop slice (built in priming strip). Struggles a tinny bit when using the more powerful software, but still performs as expected. The website has profiles for other printer software. Company had exceeded its download limits on software, so hopefully they have addressed that. Be careful with build plate (think i got to much oil on it from my hands and initial build), despite cleaning one layer just would not stick, flipped the plate over and it sticks almost to well. Pros - price, ease of use, easy set up (for a 3d printer), good quality. Cons - not the highest resolution on prints(likes .2), download website struggling with how popular the brand suddenly became. ... show more

  • Speed Meets Precision in This Sleek, User-Friendly 3D Printer!
Size: Anycubic Kobra 2
The Anycubic Kobra 3D Printer has made a significant impact on my 3D printing hobby. Its standout feature is the impressive 300mm/s max print speed, which is a significant time-saver for larger projects. Paired with the LeviQ 2.0 auto-leveling system, it takes much of the manual calibration hassle out of the equation, making it a breeze for both beginners and experienced users. The dual-gear extrusion system is efficient at material delivery, ensuring consistent and precise filament feeding, which is critical for high-quality prints. The rapid cooling fan design is a boon, too, as it allows for a quicker solidification of materials, aiding in smoother print finishes and finer details. Assembly was surprisingly straightforward. The printer comes semi-assembled, and I was able to get it up and running in just about 10 minutes, thanks to the clear instructions and few parts that needed to be put together. This ease of setup is a huge plus for anyone new to the field. While the user experience is generally positive, with a sensitive LCD touchscreen and intuitive controls, there is a learning curve when it comes to perfecting print settings for different materials. However, Anycubic's customer service is noted to be responsive, which is comforting for troubleshooting and support. Bottom Line: The Anycubic Kobra 3D Printer strikes an excellent balance between speed, functionality, and user-friendliness. It's suitable for a wide range of users, from hobbyists to those who may be considering a more professional use. With its current features and efficient design, it promises a high-performing printing experience. ... show more
