My hopes weren't high based on the low price of this light, but I'm impressed overall. We're using this in a home office. I appreciated the packaging and that the wattage rating stickers on each outlet are easily removable. I knocked off a star because the set screws and mounting bracket aren't black, which detracts from the aesthetic. The light was easy to assemble and hang, and though there is some movement in the stem (it's easily turned and not super sturdy), it's not a deal-breaker. When I saw the box, I was unsure how the light I ordered could possibly fit in there- the box is smaller than a shoe box. You just have to screw in the fixtures, which are hanging from cords, as shown in the picture. Fully assembled, it’s a very cool atomic shape! I am very disappointed with the lack of quality of this product. I am particularly disappointed that this light fixture is NOT safety rated with certification by ETL or UL Listed & Labeled. I have purchased many light fixtures on Amazon that did not mention that the light fixture did indeed have at least one of these ratings. However, when I received those items, I would find that the box and the instructions and the light fixture, itself, would all have a label indicating an Industry Standard safety rating. I am not going to install this light fixture. Ask your own home owner’s insurance agent if they think it is okay to use a NON-NEC, NON-ETL, NON-UL LISTED, electric fixture in your house. Ask your own home owner’s insurance agent if they will not provide fire damage coverage if they know you are using such electric fixtures. Speaking as a remodeling contractor, my Liability Insurance Agent, and my lawyer, both call these types of just-waiting-for-a-lawsuit type products: “Litigiously Incorrect”. In vernacular these types of products are a great product for earning money for the suing liability lawyer, a terrible product for the hurt consumer victim and negligent installer. There is one reviewer that is amazingly cavalier about safety. That person though it was just wonderful to remove the Maximum 40 Watt Warning label on each lamp holder. I have seen tenants do some dangerous things to cause damage to other people’s property. I can just imagine someone unknowingly installing a dangerous old style super hot 100 watt incandescent bulb because the Warning Label was removed. hmmmm There is one safety rating inside the canopy of the fixture: IP20. FYI The Ingress Protection (IP) number is a two-digit number indicating the degree of protection. The first number is between zero and eight for solid objects. The second number indicates moisture protection and is between zero and six. The table below summarizes the available options. For example, IP20 protection will resist all objects’ intrusion with a diameter greater than 12.5mm (defined by the number 2). However, it will offer no protection against moisture (as defined by the zero). In contrast, an IP24 rated device will resist all objects’ intrusion with a diameter greater than 12.5mm and protect against water splashing from any angle. ... show more

We took a fan out of my son's playroom and replaced it with this fantastic sputnik lamp. My husband was able to install it easily after removing that old fan. It is very bright and we love it. Installation was a breeze. Just screw in the arms to the ball. Wire it up, screw it to the ceiling and add bulbs. The matt black is a very nice finish. I used Edison bulbs, and it looks so cute.
