    • OEM Alternative
If you're reading this, then I'm pretty sure you don't want to fork out a lot of money on the OEM rack for your "old" Element. If that's true, then I would recommend this. It's a lot cheaper and the quality is pretty good. But don't expect this to be a perfect replacement though. The fitment is not spot on so you would have to accept some imperfection (rubber boot do not sit flush esp. the front rack). Installation is like the OEM with a little tweaking to make it work. But the instructions are lacking a couple of steps like the use of the square washers to connect the cross bars to the end metal slips and the non-stick open ended rubber sleeves goes on the rear vertical plate before installing onto the roof. Another plus is the better weight capacity (165 lb) than the OEM (75 lb I believe). There is some wind noise (whistling) but I can drown it out with music. ... show more

Not perfect fit and the instructions were let's say, challenging, but end result was acceptable. Be prepared to ad lib where necessary. Sturdiness looks good, appearance is good, alignment is good and likely will hold up to the elements. I don't know what the OEM costs but likely 3-4 times more in which case a good deal. ... show more

Love the finish and quality of the crossbars. Looks great and super strong. I had to get creative and trim the rubber to fit, otherwise it wouldn't.

    • Product did NOT fit the vehicle & is NOT OEM parts (as advertised)
I purchased this product because this was advertised as OEM parts for the vehicle that I entered in while placing the order for this roof rack. I was working out of town & didn't have a chance to install until AFTER I was unable to return/ replace this defective product. Specifically, the bolts were too short (by a significant margin) to be able to attach to my vehicle. The flat "bolts" were too large for brackets that they are supposed to be designed to fit inside of. Lastly, the brackets also did NOT fit onto the roof as they were designed to do. They "back" brackets/ hardware were too large. ... show more

Rack was pretty easy to install and is very strong. I didn't have any problems with sound while driving, would recommend this rack.

Not OEM fit as described. Assembly instructions assume you are quite handy. No frame of reference for quality and sturdiness, but it seems ok.
