I actually bought this stool a couple of years ago but forgot to review it so you're getting a review of a product that's been in use for awhile. I love this stool! I bought it for my art studio but it's also been pulled in to use as additional seating at family dinners and I love using it in my kitchen when I'm decorating a cake that has a lot of detail. The fact that it can raise and lower is fantastic for use at my art desk (low), crafting table/workbench (high), kitchen counters (high) and use at plastic table for holiday dinners (low). My BIL is a musician and fell in love with it at Christmas and now wants his own for guitar playing. He said it's the best stool he's ever sat on for that purpose. It rolls super smooth, raising and lowering is smooth and swiveling on the seat is also smooth. My three hundred dollar office chair feels like rolling over gravel compared to this. It's also wonderful that is comes in pretty colors because as an artist, well, I love color! Sitting on it will take a little getting used to but once you do it's good for your posture and quite comfortable. And after a couple of years of constant use it still looks almost new (almost because I am a painter after all but my messiness isn't a reflection on the stool) The stitching is all holding strong, no wear spots on the seat, wheels are still incredibly smooth and there is no flaking or chipping on the chrome. The previous stool had the stereotypical Office casters and I’m a massage therapist in addition to being a medical Pedicurist. Those casters were so noisy moving around the table! These are silent and it moves so easily. My room apparently isn’t level as it moves so easily if will roll off in its own so I just need to be careful I known where it is and where it isn’t. It’s a very thick comfortable seat. I’m 5’ tall and it’s taller than my old stool but still fits me fine on the lowest setting. BONUS! It matches my room and equipment colors! ... show more

(Read to the end for an update 1.5 years later!!!) I bought this stool to use in surgery while recovering from a broken ankle and unable to bear weight. The wheels are amazing, but that's the only positive thing I have to say. I can't sit on it more than half an hour before my legs go numb and my tailbone becomes excruciatingly painful (yes, I am sitting on it properly - I've used saddle type seats before). Just to validate my own perception, several people I work with have tried this stool and all found it unbearable after a short amount of time... which is good because it keeps them from racing down the halls on the super smooth wheels. The unfortunate part is I had someone toss the box before I had time to try it out, so I'm stuck with this horrible stool and out way more money than it was worth. ... that was April 2022. It is now Oct 2023 and I am buying a second stool. This is now the stool everyone looks for at work, myself included! (Yes, I have to share my chair!) I found that the chair was far more comfortable after it had been used a bit. It still isn't for super long procedures but it's comfortable enough to buy a second one to use at home while sewing and crafting. i bought this chair thinking it would be a great and affordable chair to use while in the dental office. the nice thing about the chair is it going really high you feel like you are standing. But the bad things over ruled the good. my butt hurt so much after the first day but i thought maybe it’s the saddle. so i gave it time and it never got better. the still itself is not a saddle shape as well. it does not look like the picture and is almost flat. save your time and go buy a different one ... show more
