I actually bought this stool a couple of years ago but forgot to review it so you're getting a review of a product that's been in use for awhile. I love this stool! I bought it for my art studio but it's also been pulled in to use as additional seating at family dinners and I love using it in my kitchen when I'm decorating a cake that has a lot of detail. The fact that it can raise and lower is fantastic for use at my art desk (low), crafting table/workbench (high), kitchen counters (high) and use at plastic table for holiday dinners (low). My BIL is a musician and fell in love with it at Christmas and now wants his own for guitar playing. He said it's the best stool he's ever sat on for that purpose. It rolls super smooth, raising and lowering is smooth and swiveling on the seat is also smooth. My three hundred dollar office chair feels like rolling over gravel compared to this. It's also wonderful that is comes in pretty colors because as an artist, well, I love color! Sitting on it will take a little getting used to but once you do it's good for your posture and quite comfortable. And after a couple of years of constant use it still looks almost new (almost because I am a painter after all but my messiness isn't a reflection on the stool) The stitching is all holding strong, no wear spots on the seat, wheels are still incredibly smooth and there is no flaking or chipping on the chrome. Saddle stool is comfortable to sit on, wheels run smooth so it is easy to move around when sitting on it, and since the wheels are a rubber on the outside, there is minimal noise when using. Using it in the kitchen by the mobility impaired in our house to make cooking infinitely easier. Two "wishes" for the next version: small handle or ring below the pommel so it can be grabbed and held stead when 'mounting' the seat, especially since it does roll, and the biggie, suggest tools or improve the installation of the wheels. I could not do this by hand and had to use a hammer and a screwdriver to set each wheel into their hole. This was not easy and it was about hand strength. Plan ahead, you will probably be hammering in the wheels. Still love the stool. Still will buy another. ... show more

If you need a wheeled stool believe me this Saddle Seat is the one! I have tired many "wheeled" stools. I tattoo and sit for 6-8 hours daily. I also have a bad back. I am sorry I wasted money on other stools. Don't do that! This product is your answer. The quality of your tools matter if you want something that is easy to use and comfort! Nothing comes close to the comfort and mobility of this Saddle Stool! I originally purchased this for the awesome wheels. It uses roller blade wheels. They move in 360 degree rotation. No more jammed wheels and they make it fun. That sold me right away. : ) These wheels are super smooth and extremely well made. My friend had this chair. I tried hers and I was hooked! Ran right to Amazon and treated myself. I love how the saddle seat puts you in a correct posture position. It takes a lot of strain off of my back. I couldn't recommend this chair AND this seller enough. I purchased this chair and used it daily for 8 weeks before one of the legs broke. I contacted the seller and they promptly responded by sending a new one, no questions asked. The chair itself is incredibly easy to assembled, just snapping a few pieces into each other. It rolls pretty easily, not incredibly smooth but that doesn't matter much for my purposes. I'm a hairdresser with bad feet, so it's been helpful for times when I'm going to be in one place for a while like cutting, blowdrying, and foiling. It took a bit to get used to navigating around the client chair and finding the right height but now that I have it figured out, I adjust it without even thinking about it. Pretty smooth, very comfortable, wonderfully helpful. So glad I made the investment in this chair and so grateful for the awesome customer service! ... show more

    • Great stool but I'm 5'4" and too short for it... you also can't use it with most skirts (duh!)!

ISSUE 1: I'M TOO SHORT: I got this stool in an effort to improve my posture and comfort in my home-office set-up. I also love the aqua color and design, and that it can push under my desk to give me more floorspace in a small apartment. But I'm 5'4" (actually exactly 5'3-and-three-quarters). As a female, I don't consider myself 'short'. I would even have ignored advice that this stool doesn't work for 'short' people. But, seriously, even on the lowest setting (which is too low for my desk height) my feet cannot sit flat on the floor. I therefore can't stabilize the stool well, and I tend to roll backward. And I also find myself resting my feet on the stool rungs in weird twisted positions that then make my feet hurt. I'd estimate YOU NEED TO BE ABOUT 5'7" to comfortably, properly use this stool (at least if you plan to sit in it for long work hours). I have started wearing 3" heals to sit in it, and my feet are then anchored on the floor. But who wants to wear 3" heals in their home-office? A major car accident resulted in compression fractures in my back in 2017. I have permanent nerve damage and take medication for pain. I exercise. I alternate sitting, standing, walking all day, every day. I bought an expensive desk chair with lumbar support. I couldn't sit on it long without discomfort escalating to outright pain. I gave the chair away. On a whim, I decided to sit on my big red Pilate ball. That was pretty good, but it was unstable. It also needed occasionally inflation adjustment, which meant a search in the garage for the noisy machine that scared our dog. I'd given up looking for anything truly comfortable to sit on until a couple weeks ago when I had an ultrasound and noticed the tech sitting on a stool that resembled a saddle. I asked if her stool was comfortable. She said, "Yes! I love it!" and proceeded to tell me her supervisor ordered similar ones for everyone. I drove home hopeful and determined to find something like that and I did. I can only thank you for this life-changing stool. I sit on with joy every day. I still get up and move around because I've learned there's hours of pain in sitting or doing any one activity too long. I must continue sitting, standing, walking, elevating my legs in the recliner, repeat. But while I'm at the computer now, I am comfortable. One suggestion. A foot rest would be a nice addition. I bought a separate one for stability when using the Pilate ball for so long. But, for those who do not, a built-on one would be great. i love the stool, its comfortable, supports my weight, suits my purpose. The bad thing is the wheel broke and had to be re welded. Thank heavens my grandson is studying to be a welder, he fixed it for me. Ive tried to contact the manufacterer and no replies, so buy at your own risk once it arrives you are on your own. Amazon wouldnt return my call either. Since it was beyond the return date. Bought it in February it broke in April. ... show more
