First, I should reveal that my situation is an extreme use case for this product. I am certain that if I had contacted Anthbot support before purchasing and asked them if their product would work in my situation, they would have dissuaded me from purchasing. I live in a northern location with at times spotty GPS coverage, I have a large lawn with very steep areas. The property shape is convoluted with multiple “no go” areas. Finally, the yard is uneven with multiple frost heaves and moose hoof prints to trap robot wheels. Add to that mix that our weather is crap with long periods of rain during our short summers. Stepping back, I have seen ads for the Anthbot Genie on social media with long diatribes against robot mowers, calling them gimmicks, another way of avoiding exercise, another job for a teenager gone, etc., etc. Here are my thoughts on this product. 1. I have been mowing my uneven, steep, large lawn with a push mower for 25 years. The lawn itself I cut out of raw land and evened out mostly with shovel, rake, and wheelbarrow. I would rather spend my time being active elsewhere now. I can run, climb mountains, ride a bike, hike, walk the dog, or spend time with my family instead of pushing a smoke-belching gas-powered lawnmower around my property. There are better things to do with my time, and it has nothing to do with being lazy or avoiding exercise. 2. I have personally slid down the hill of my lawn on my butt with a tumbling mower with spinning blades next to me on more occasions than I am comfortable with. Hiring a teenager to do my lawn is a safety risk. 3. If you can find a teenager willing to do manual labor in your area, good for you. I haven’t seen one of those for a bit. As for the product—it is not yet perfect, but I am so impressed with the Genie 3000, and with Anthbot as a company. They have already proven responsive and are working to improve the product through software updates. Setup was fairly straightforward and the Quickstart Guide was easy to follow. One issues I had was the need for a firmware upgrade on initial connection. The update failed to download multiple times. I contacted Anthbot support through the app and they were quick to respond, on a weekend! Another attempt at the download the following morning completed without an issue—I think it may have been an issue with my ISP and not the mower. The mower works very well on the majority of my lawn, uneven ground bedamned. It cuts neat stripes and deals with my convoluted perimeter without an issue. I am very pleased with the performance overall. My wife left a rake on the lawn yesterday, forgetting that the mower would soon be doing it’s thing. The machine recognized the obstacle, navigated around it, then went back later and finished that area when the rake was later picked up! The only problem I have encountered is with the steepest area of the lawn. I haven’t measured the angle, but I am fairly certain that it is outside the operating parameters of the product. The robot will get stuck in that area. I am not surprised and not too disillusioned by this limitation. I will probably let the steepest areas go back to nature and wildflowers. I probably should have done this decades ago. Things to know— 1. The mower does not eliminate he need to edge your lawn. It is a mower, not an edger. 2. Plan to play with the perimeter settings a bit to get things just right. My initial setup has resulted in pretty good performance, but I plan to repeat the setup to optimize mowing in a couple of areas. 3. It is capable of dealing with walkways and “no mow” areas between zones. It really is pretty impressive. 4. You will tinker with this product a bit, but it will certainly free up time you would have otherwise spent on the operator end of a smoke-belching mower while attempting to avoid your own toes. Final thought. Yes, this is a good product and I would buy it again without hesitation.

I've had this for about five weeks now- very impressed. It does everything they say it does, and keeps the lawn looking perfect. I can even start it while I'm at work! It makes perfect lines and keeps the lawn very short for the spring growing season, and it keeps it short enough the dandelions don't have a chance to sprout. My friend commented that my lawn looks like a golf course the other day too. It took an hour or so to set up, and it was pretty easy. It also runs like a tank and just keeps going as long as I want it to run, and goes back to recharge for a few hours as needed on it's own. I'm still learning with the app, and it has gotten stuck in the bushes a couple of times, but that is only because I haven't set up the No-Go area for the bushes yet. Otherwise it stays in the yard and the only times it misses a section of grass is because I don't have the zones set up correctly but it's very easy to change. Some grass is tougher than others to cut in a few sections of my yard, but if I set it in the app to mow each zone twice, it comes out perfect. Another benefit of that is the mower goes the opposite way for a checkerboard pattern and healthier grass. It leaves a little behind in thick sections of grass in my yard, but the wind and rain seem to take care of it as it's very light with the mulching, so i just leave it. Mowing my lawn is becoming more passive as the days go by and I learn more about what works and doesn't. I mainly just push a button on my phone in the app now and it does it's thing. I was mowing my own lawn for most of my life, but realized how much time it was taking out of my life when I could be doing other things, so I started having someone mow my lawn. a few years ago. Last year the gentleman kept charging me extra if the grass was extra thick without forewarning me, so I was a little frustrated with that and the money adds up. I realized if I used this, the machine would pay for itself within two seasons and I wouldn't have to deal with that or hope he'd show up soon enough where the grass wouldn't be too thick and charge me extra etc. Now i just start the mower and go do other things in my yard or house or go get errands done. Overall I am very happy with the Anthbot - I did a lot of research last year and earlier this spring before choosing it for the price and versatility it has compared to other robot lawnmowers. They've sent firmware updates twice already since I've had it to make things like mowing the edges better too. Very glad I purchased this little machine, it's making my life a lot easier.

Updated after 1 year of ownership. Let's start with the good stuff. This thing works pretty much out of the box, it's easy to setup and to create the perimeter for the area you want it to mow. The first run takes a while and once you create your zones it moves quicker. Because grass doesn't grow at the same speed everywhere in my yard this is really convenient. The machine itself is very quiet so you barely notice while it's working. Now the bad or annoying stuff. 1. If it gets stuck in the same spot over and over again it doesn't learn not to go there 2. It will randomly not charge even though it's on the charger. 3. Most annoyingly it will randomly error out saying it's suspended or in air (see photo) and then it does it over and over again, plan on spending the rest of the afternoon resetting it and randomly moving around for no reason. I would hands down buy an automatic mover like this one again, they make life easy and keep the lawn looking amazing. I am not sure I would get another Anthbot. Overall, I started happy with my purchase and once this one starts annoying me enough I will probably get another brand. I downgraded this to two stars because I get the suspension warning constantly now. It was even set off while on the charging pad. I basically have to monitor it all the time now. 1 year in. It's now a clear one star. I started getting a notification that I need to start paying in order for the robot to fully function and be accurate. After the last few rounds of mowing, it shows me on the map that it has completed an area but is leaving 3 foot wide strips in between where it is mowing. I don't know if it's because I am not paying the annual fee (one of the reason I got it was because it was not a subscription), or if it's because of the latest update. It's becoming quite an annoying machine, it gets stuck really easy, it's now making a clicking sound. The battery has lost a lot of it's ability to hold a charge. I can now say that if I decide to get another robotic mower it will not be from this company. Once again would I buy a robotic mower, yes, would it be this unit. Probably not, unfortunately I would have no idea if any other mower would do any better than this. But at this point I would take that risk.

EDIT: As of 4/24 the dev team pushed an update that corrected some of my main concerns. If they keep making changes and listening to their supporters like they have so far this robot lawnmower will be the best on the market. Update added Boundary mowing (edge) A stop button to stop the current mowing session You can now change the direction the mower mows And a few other quality of life changes Updated to 4 star, still a few things if like to see before I change it to a 5 star :) I'm giving this robot a 3 for many many reasons. First and foremost, the tech on this robot is nuts, it has the possibility to do a lot with it's multiple cameras and sensors. With that said, there is just too much missing,as of April 20th , to give this anymore than 3 stars. Ive joined the Facebook page and I see a lot of positives and negatives (many of which mimic my concerns, wants, needs and overall feel). Cons: -ive had to remap my yard 3 times in a week. One time it said the rtk station changed location but it didn't. It gave me two option on the app to continue or something else (honestly it didn't give me time to read it before it kicked me out to a blank map that needed to be remapped again). Another time the robot started doing circles , missing entire stripes of grass and acting as if it had no clue where it was at, I had to factory reset and map the yard yet again. Another time it just randomly reset the entire map the first time I was setting it up (I think this time could have been my own fault and clicking something wrong. ) -the app, the app does a basic job on what could be amazing. There is a lot of basic functionality that just isn't there yet like splitting zones , currently you draw large squares to designate a zone... Which doesn't give you enough control over where a zone should go, especially if the zone isn't a straight line. Also, if there is a current mowing job going there is no way to pause and completely stop the mowing session, it will expect you to pickup where it left off. Only way to solve this is to remap the entire yard again. -no edge or boundary cut EDIT 4/24 . THIS IS NOW ADDED IN AN UPDATE On the Facebook group someone keeps saying it's coming by end of April but no matter how many times we ask for what exactly is coming in the update they never say for sure what's in the update. It's hard to wait on fixes or basic functionality without a clear confirmation or in a place someone can find it other than in a random Facebook post.EDIT: THEY HAVE MADE A GOOGLE DOC TO SHOW WHAT'S BRING WORKED ON -cannot see our of the robots camers while controlling it (they had not said it can do that yet, just thought I'd mention it for anyone wondering.) -when your robot gods back to charge to finish the mow the button doesn't saY resume it says "start". So it's kind of worded weird and makes you think If you click it that the map will restart. -no way to change the direction the mower cuts.EDIT THIS WAS ALSO UPDATE ON 4/24 So you will have the same (hopefully if it doesn't get lost like mine ) stripes in the yard and you can't control which way they go -when you open the app every time it tries to connect to it via Bluetooth. If you aren't near it you will see the "failed to connect" message every time ... It confuses a lot of people because it connects via WiFi but not Bluetooth. -cannot see how many satellites you are connected to however they mention how their tech connects to more (other robot mowers I've used allow you to see how many ) -cant manually control the light on the robot. It comes at when it's dark enough on its own. Also can't turn it off if need be -cant rotate the map. Once the maps made , it's always going to be in a certain orientation with no way to change it. -no wait to change from metric to imperial. It's always metric Pros - 3000 series has some serious battery life - the pathing of the cut is actually really good! (Until it had the weird meltdown and required a remap ) - setup was a breeze. Auto map and manual was very well done. -the light on the front is insane level bright lol - lots of sensors, it can detect if anything is causing the blades not to spring right -charging speed is really quick - all the cameras help it navigate and miss objects it sees very well. -value ! This is definitely one of the better mowing robots out there for what it does currently. Lastly, once the company can tie up some loose ends and communicate their changes and updates in one place that is easy to see and track , I believe a lot of hesitation to certain missing things would go away all together. This robot has a TON of potential, anthbot dev team just needs to prioritize some basic functionality and quality of life changes to make this the best robot mower on the market. If you have the patience to wait for the changes to be made.... Buy this now.

This product makes me happy. Thats a cool thing to say. Not only is it practical, but its really fun to own. I love to look out and see it hard at work for me, carefully mowing manicured lines automatically while I focus on other tasks or relax. When it was 100 degrees this summer I was REALLY thankful. I dont mind mowing at all. But it is an inconvenience to take that full hour, and then need a shower after, when i have a busy Dad life. I figured - over the next 3 years, I get to have a manicured lawn (auto-mowed every ~4 days), and it basically cost me $10 per week. I'd gladly pay $10 to hire someone to do my lawn. The Quality? The quality is great. They really engineered some incredibly impressive software to make this app intuitive, and make the mowing SMART and as complete and clean as possible. The EDGE mowing feature, the zones, the straight lines, the AUTO mapping, the pathway mapping, it all just works so brilliantly. This is really top level software engineering. The RTK base placement wasn't a problem for me. The only downsides are the edge trimming on the parts of the grass that go up against a raised edge, the mower can't get the edge so i need to weedwack that. I tried the Genie 600 and that was great, but the lack of 4g made the connection incredibly spotty. It would MOW just fine all the time, but I couldn't see the mower on the app while it worked, and i couldnt make quick changes and pauses in the work - such as telling it to stop what it was doing and work on edging - because the connection wasn't good out in my yard. The 4g offered by the 1000 model would have been all I need. And the larger battery in the 1000/3000 is a beautiful luxury, but not necessary if thats too much to spend. It just makes the job completed in half the time, since it cuts out the recharge time. Fun note: I divided my back yard into 5 different equal zones - and I alternated the mowing direction 45* and 135* to create a cool \\\\////\\\\//// pattern on my lawn. I alternate the mowing directions regularly to keep the grass healthy. I really really love having this robot mower, it brings me joy. I almost look forward to the lawn getting a bit long so I can tell it to start mowing from my phone.

Let me start by saying that I LOVE this mower! Is it perfect? Nope. Is it awesome? Yes! Am I glad I bought it? Oh yeah! Why 3 stars: 1) I have had some minor issues with the Genie 3000. When installing the RTK antenna post in the hard ground, I was holding the post close to where the two poles connect to guide it while using my foot to push the spikes into the earth. I must have gotten out of alignment slightly because all of the sudden the pole snapped off at the bottom just above the spikes. It was a clean break so there wasn't enough metal left to repair it. I ended up using a 3' piece of galvanized electrical conduit slightly smaller in diameter than the antenna pole to mount it without the spikes. I removed the antenna wire and inserted the conduit into the antenna pole until it stopped where the two poles connect and traced the oval cutout at the base of the pole onto the conduit with a marker. I removed the conduit and drilled out the slot I had marked. This was necessary for the wire to pass through. I drove the conduit into the ground about a foot or so then slid the antenna pole over it and ran the wire back through both metal pipes and through the holes at the base. Connected it to the base and everything worked great. It's actually much more stable this way than it was with the spikes it came with. It all worked out fine, but the pole could have been made stronger at the base where the spikes connect. 2) I have my lawn sectioned out in 3 mowing zones. My back yard is fenced in so I have to open a gate for the mower to pass through to get to the other zones. Even with the gate wide open, the mower will go straight to the opening then stop a few inches from it and refuse to go through it from one zone to the other. It acts like there is something in the way when it's actually wide open. It tries and tries but just won't go through the open gate so I have to manually drive it through the gate. Once it's through it has no problem finding its way back to the base, usually... 3) Last week the mower had finished mowing the back yard and was returning to the base to recharge. The base is also in the back yard. About 30' from the base, the mower suddenly got very confused and started driving in circles as if it was lost. I watched it do this for several minutes until finally taking over and manually driving it onto the base via the app. Not sure what happened, but there were no obstacles blocking its path and GPS signals showed to be strong. It hasn't happened again since. Just a glitch I guess. Not that big of a deal since I was nearby and could help it find its way. 4) I messaged Anthbot Online Support through their app about issues 2 and 3 but the only response I got both times was an auto-reply saying that support was offline and to leave a message and they would respond within 24 hours. That was over a week ago and I still haven't received a response so their support (via their app anyway) appears to be non-existent which is a bit unsettling. I have read other reviews saying their phone support was good, so hopefully that's the case if I ever find myself needing support for anything more significant. Now for the Good: I get hot easily and it takes me a long time to cool off. I'm always soaked in sweat after mowing in the summer months. For years I have researched robotic mowers but the technology simply was not to the point where I felt comfortable spending thousands of dollars on a so-so machine that produced questionable results and required a boundary wire around my entire property. I knew it would only be a matter of time before these mowers improved dramatically. This was the year. I came across the Anthbot Genie this time, which I had not seen previously when looking into automatic mowers. It checked all of the boxes for me so I took a chance and bought one. No boundary wires, it has GPS, RTK backup and 4G connectivity. Adjustable mowing height, obstacle detection, and impressive slope climbing capability. Anti-theft protection, mows in lines instead of randomly, and it's waterproof. I have a mix of tall fescue, Bermuda, and patches of weeds like clover and crabgrass. This mower handles them all without any struggle whatsoever. This mower cuts laser straight lines. It's quiet, has a bright LED headlight, and just gets the job done. I have pretty steep ditches surrounding my lawn on two sides. It handles one without any issues. It's quite impressive how this mower climbs such steep hills with ease. I don't allow the mower to go all the way down the other ditch because the laws of physics won't allow any mower (or anything else for that matter) to operate on certain parts of it without sliding down the extremely steep inclines. My weekends used to be spent mowing the lawn, showering, then recovering in the air conditioning. Not anymore! That's Genie's job now. All I have to do is weedeat the spots the mower can't get and finish the steep ditch. I can spend weekends with my family now. That's huge. While there have been a few minor bugs with this mower and Online Support is questionable, I LOVE THIS MOWER and absolutely recommend it! No more time spent mowing. No more getting overheated in the summer. Just a neatly cut lawn all of the time! This thing is so cool. Oh, and people driving by will stop, back up, and stare while the mower does its thing.
