This unit was top rated in Consumer Reports, so we decided to give it a try. It looks good and does it's job. I wish it had more wine bottle racks and less glass shelves, but I knew that going in. From that perspective, a 4 or 5 star rating. But....When it starts up and begins to run it is exceptionally noisy. I get that the compressor should have a little startup sound, but the whole unit has a significant vibrating sound. If you lean hard on the top of the unit you can get the vibrating/rattling sound to lessen a bit. That tells me that the casing and the components aren't properly dampened to prevent that. It's loud enough that that it occasionally even wakes me up at night if the bedroom door is open. I don't know that there are better alternatives, but that's a one star, so the average for the unit is three :( . Addendum: The seller quickly responded with an offer to either replace the item, or give me a full refund. I respect that. It doesn't happen very often, so thanks to them.

After what feels like hours trying to configure this fridge, I am coming here defeated. It does not properly store 36 bottles of wine. No way, no how. I moved the shelves into dozens of configurations and ultimately landed on this (see photo). I removed the wire shelf, it is useless. The peg on the right side does not fit properly in the slot in the back, so the wire shelf never sits level and I tried flipping the wire shelf around but with any weight, it does not stay in the slots, it slips out. Also, I see another reviewer was able to fit bottles on the wire rack along the top shelf but when I tried with standard red wine bottles, the light mounted at the top center prevented bottles from going there. Also, the half shelf at the bottom is not flush with the shape of the fridge. There is a half inch or more level change from the piece in the back to the shelf. What this means is you cannot push the bottles all the way back without them slanting forward and feeling unstable. To combat this I shoved the little foam pieces that came on the wire rack, into the shelf slot but it is not a lasting solution. Another option might be to cut a pool noodle into a quarter piece and put it along the front for the bottles to rest on and not slip out, but really, we shouldn't have to do this. Anyhow, I managed 30 total bottles with 3 being smaller sized muscat bottles and at least 8 being champagne/sparkling that are perhaps bulkier. I could maybe fit another two at the bottom but would risk them rolling out when I opened the door. If you are just wanting to store food, canned beverages, etc. then I think this would be a wonderful buy. I am frustrated I cannot store wine in a functional way without shoving it in and hoping it does not fall out.
